Highly diastereoselective multicomponent synthesis of polysubstituted 2-hydroxy-2-trifluoromethylpiperidineswith four and five stereogenic centers

The Michael–Mannich cascade cyclization of cyano olefins, ethyl 4,4,4-trifluoro-3-oxobutanoate, aromatic aldehydes and ammonium acetate provides convenient stereoselective formation of ethyl 5,5-dicyano-4,6-diaryl-2-hydroxy-2-(trifluoromethyl)piperidine-3-carboxylates with fourstereogenic centers and dialkyl 4,6-diaryl-5-cyano-2-hydroxy-2-(trifluoromethyl)piperidine-3,5-dicarboxylates with five stereogenic centers. Ammonium acetate plays dual role, acting as a base and as a nitrogen source.     

Studies on basicity of alkali metal catron exchanged β and X zeolites by pyrrole-IR spectroscopy

The strength of basic sites has been measured by pyrrole-IR on alkali metal cation exchanged β and X zeolites, as well as NaOH loaded Naβ. The influence of cation type and the structure of zeolites on their basicity has been studied. The acidic and basic properties of the samples were investigated by NH3-TPD and isopropanol reaction. It was shown that the strength of basic sites on samples could be characterized by the shift of vNH band in the pyrrole-IR spectra. The framework oxygen charges were calculated from the Sanderson electronegativity. The changes in basic properties with various alkali metal cation are consistent with the changes of local oxygen charges of the zeolite framework.

Preparation of Phosphoric-Carboxylic Cation Exchangers from Wood Cellulose

Phosphorus-containing cellulose cation exchangers were synthesized by reaction of wood cellulose with orthophosphoric acid and the ternary polymer from glycidylmethacrylate, styrene, and maleic anhydride. The effects of the ratio of reactants, temperature, and duration of the reaction on the phosphorylation and exchange capacity of the modified cellulose material were studied.     

Synthesis and characterization of guar gum‐graft‐polyacrylonitrile

Cerium(IV) mediated grafting of polyacrylonitrile on to guar gum was studied. Grafting parameters were studied gravimetrically, as a function of temperature, initiator concentration and Guar to acrylonitrile ratio. Higher temperatures resulted in higher monomer conversion and homopolymer formation. Both monomer conversion and extent of grafting increased with increase in cerium ion concentration in the range studied (0.91–9.12 mmol/l). Similar results were obtained with increase in monomer to guar gum ratio from 1 to 5. Grafting with this initiator was found to be generally good with high grafting efficiencies and low homopolymer formation for most experiments. The copolymers obtained were subjected to alkaline hydrolysis to convert nitrile groups in to carboxylic acid groups and the water absorbency of the resulting anionic guar gum was studied. Materials with water absorption up to 300 g/g could be obtained from this study. Copyright © 2003 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.     

Vibrational spectra of (NH4)3ZnCl5

IR and Raman spectra of (NH₄)₃ZnCl₅ have been recorded. The observed spectra have been analysed on the basis of the vibrations of ZnCl ₄ ²⁻ and NH ₄ ⁺ ions. The appearance of multiple Raman bands indicates the presence of two different types of ammonium ions. The effect of anisotropic crystalline field over the ZnCl₄ and NH₄ tetrahedra is also discussed. The assignment of internal modes has been verified by the potential energy distribution calculations.

Solid-phase oxidative halodecarboxylation of β-arylacrylic acids with the ceric ammonium nitrate—alkali halide system

The solid-phase oxidation of cinnamic, 4-methoxy- and 3,4-dimethoxycinnamic acids with Ce(NH₄)₂(NO₃)₆—MHal system leads to β-halostyrenes. Similar procedure in the absence of a metal halide results in a cleavage of the C=C bond giving the corresponding benzaldehydes. Published in Russian in Izvestiya Akademii Nauk. 含三个硬脂酰胺基的树枝状季铵盐的制备

由三羟甲基丙烷三丙烯酸酯(TMPTA)和乙二胺(EDA)直接进行M ichael加成反应,合成端基为3个NH2的树枝状大分子G(NH2)3,用硬脂酰氯将其端氨基进行酰胺化得到端基为3个硬脂酰基的树枝状大分子GS(R)3,产率为82.4%。GS(R)3进一步与碘甲烷反应,其分子中的3个仲氨基被季铵化,生成树枝状季铵盐GI(R)3,产率为82.0%。讨论了反应温度、反应时间和原料配比对GS(R)3和GI(R)3产率的影响,并用红外、核磁和元素分析对GS(R)3和GI(R)3的结构进行表征。     

高分子阳离子絮凝剂用于炼油废水处理研究

用聚二甲基二烯丙基氯化铵型高分子阳离子絮凝剂处理炼油废水考察了险油和化学耗氧量的动态变化规律。对产生的浮渣性质及滤饼的成份进行了研究。并且与聚合铝的处理效果进行对照。研究结果表明，ＨＣＡ除油和化学耗管氧量的性能优于ＰＡＣ，ＨＣＡ产生的浮渣是ＰＡＣ的三分之一，而浮渣中的含油量则是ＰＡＣ的三倍。
