The polymerization of benzyl chloride in the presence of various group II metal salts has been investigated. The extent of reaction and the relative activities of various salts were determined by measurement of the evolved HCl as a function of time. The solution of the time-dependent diffusion equation in a semiinfinite planar, cylindrical, or spherical geometry with common initial and asymptotic boundary conditions is considered. It is shown that this boundary value problem may be described by a single equation which involves only a first order spatial derivative and a half order time derivative. The replacement is exact in the planar and spherical geometry cases but approximate in the cylindrical case. This replacement permits the solution of the original boundary value problem to be written for any boundary condition at the origin. It also leads to a simple relationship between the boundary flux and the boundary intensive variable, which does not require a calculation of the intensive variable at all positions and times. 相似文献

We report on the synthesis of nanostructured and crystalline tapered Si and Ge polyhedra via metal-catalyzed chemical vapor deposition. These Si and Ge nanocones (SiNCs, GeNCs) possess tips with near-atomic sharpness, micron-scaled bases, hexagonal cross-sections, and controllable apex angles. High-resolution transmission electron microscopy, selected-area electron diffraction and Raman scattering spectroscopy and analysis indicate that the SiNCs are of the diamond-hexagonal Si(IV) phase. 相似文献

Usingγγ coincidences theEC(K)/β + ratio for theβ decay148Dy→148Tb has been determined.148Dy has been produced through the irradiation of93Nb with 249 MeV58Ni ions. The mass of148Dy has been deduced. With the help of knownQα values the masses of152Er,156Yb,160Hf and164W have been obtained. The experimental masses are compared with different current mass formulae. 相似文献

We report strong enhancement (approximately 10(3)) of the spontaneous Raman scattering from individual silicon nanowires and nanocones as compared with bulk Si. The observed enhancement is diameter (d), excitation wavelength (lambda(laser)), and incident polarization state dependent, and is explained in terms of a resonant behavior involving incident electromagnetic radiation and the structural dielectric cross section. The variation of the Raman enhancement with d, lambda(laser), and polarization is shown to be in good agreement with model calculations of scattering from an infinite dielectric cylinder. 相似文献

We report on the nanopatterning of double-bond-terminated silane (5-hexenyltrichlorosilane, HTCS) molecules on titania (TiO2) using conductive atomic force microscopy (AFM). The influences of tip electrostatic potential and scanning velocity, relative humidity and of the repeated application of voltage on the topographic height, width, and hydrophilic and hydrophobic contrast of the resultant patterns were investigated.
