Silicate and phosphate glass waveguide amplifiers doped with Er3+, and co-doped with Er3+/Yb3+ are theoretically studied. Configurations for core and core–cladding doped waveguide amplifiers are considered. It is shown that gain in the core–cladding doped amplifiers is considerably higher than core doped amplifiers. It is also shown that with input signal power up to 1 and 200mW pump power, a 12.5dB gain can be achieved in a 3cm long waveguide amplifier, with a noise figure of 3dB. 相似文献

A new numerical method based on the multipoles of the Dirac equation is presented for rigorous and fast analysis of electron scattering from gate-defined structures in graphene. The new method is used to study the strongly bound states and the weakly bound states of a circular quantum dot. The accuracy of the obtained results is then verified by the T-matrix method. Furthermore, we characterize the resonances of elliptical gate-defined quantum dots and compare these resonances with the strongly bound states of circular dots. The effects of coupling between two quantum dots are also investigated. 相似文献

In this Letter we use resolved sideband laser cooling to cool a mesoscopic mechanical resonator to near its quantum ground state (phonon occupancy 2.6±0.2), and observe the motional sidebands generated on a second probe laser. Asymmetry in the sideband amplitudes provides a direct measure of the displacement noise power associated with quantum zero-point fluctuations of the nanomechanical resonator, and allows for an intrinsic calibration of the phonon occupation number. 相似文献

A semi-analytical method based on distributed source transmission line model is proposed to analyze a traveling-wave terahertz
photomixer integrated with a coplanar stripline waveguide. Multilayer spectral domain method along with complex image technique
have been applied to calculate the distributed voltage source element in the transmission line representation. To find the
coupled terahertz signal along the coplanar stripline, the transmission line equations are solved. The results obtained from
