Abstract

This work examines the development and characterization of tripropylene glycol di-acrylate/liquid crystal E7 (TPGDA/LC E7) PDLCs composite materials (polymer-dispersed-liquid-crystals). These systems were produced by UV irradiation photopolymerization (PIPS) of a mixture of the monomer tripropylene glycol di-acrylate (TPGDA) and the liquid crystal E7 (LC E7, a mixture of three cyano-biphenyl and one cyano-terphenyl LCs), in the presence of 2?wt% (of the acrylate/E7 mixture) of a photoinitiator. Electro-optical, thermal and optical characterization was used to understand the effect of the LC concentration on the electro-optical and thermo-physical properties of these materials. Polarizing optical microscopy (POM) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) studies were performed to observe the system morphology and to determine the transition temperatures of these materials, both as a function of their composition. The findings showed a slight variation of the nematic-isotropic transition temperature, TNI, of the LC E7 and of the glass transition temperature, Tg, of the TPGDA polymeric matrix as a function of the mass percentage of the LC E7. A very good electro-optical response for the composition 30/70?wt % TPGDA/LC E7 was obtained.  相似文献

Using reverse thinking of the aggregation-induced emission (AIE) principle, we demonstrate an ingenious and universal protocol for amplifying molecular motions to boost photothermal efficiency of fibers. Core–shell nanofibers having the olive oil solution of AIE-active molecules as the core surrounded by PVDF-HFP shell were constructed by coaxial electrospinning. The molecularly dissolved state of AIE-active molecules allows them to freely rotate and/or vibrate in nanofibers upon photoexcitation and thus significantly elevates the proportion of non-radiative energy dissipation, affording impressive heat-generating efficiency. Photothermal evaluation shows that the core–shell nanofibers with excellent durability can reach up to 22.36 % of photothermal conversion efficiency, which is 26-fold as the non-core–shell counterpart. Such a core–shell fiber can be used for photothermal textiles and solar steam generation induced by natural sunlight with green and carbon-zero emission.  相似文献

A zinc coordination polymer derived from pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylate (PDC), {[Zn2(PDC)2]}n, was successfully prepared via conventional, sonication and microwave-irradiation methods. The composition and characteristics of the obtained coordination polymers (CPs) were investigated by elemental analysis, TGA/DTA, X-ray diffraction and spectroscopic techniques. The so obtained CPs were heat-treated in the air at 600 °C for 2 h to produce ZnO of nanosized particles (NPs). It is of interest to note that the synthesis approach of the precursor greatly affects both the nanoparticle size and the structure of the resulting ZnO NPs. Moreover, the smallest particle size was associated with the sample derived from the ultrasonically prepared precursor. TEM analysis revealed that all samples have sphere-like morphologies. Structural analysis of the prepared ZnO samples was conducted and compared using Rietveld analysis of their PXRD patterns. Optical band gap calculations based on analysis of the UV–vis spectra of ZnO samples using Tauc's power law were achieved. The highest band gap of 3.63 eV was observed for ZnO sample obtained from the ultrasonically prepared precursor. Furthermore, the photocatalytic activity of ZnO NPs for the removal of Eosin Y color was monitored. The highest removal efficiency was recorded for ZnO originated from the ultrasonically synthesized precursor. Enhancement of removal efficiency that reached 98% was attained in only a period of 8 min. Its recycling test showed that it can be reused without structural changes over four cycling experiments.  相似文献

The angle between two element sides representing the crack tip is defined as the crack tip opening angle (CTOA). Its critical value is used as a criterion of fracture resistance for characterizing stable tearing in thin metallic materials. Various methods are used for determination of the CTOA. Optical microscopy is one of the most common methods as well as fitting of experimental load-displacement diagrams by the finite element method (DIC). Additionally, analytical analysis using the experimental load-displacement curve method (SSM) derived from the plastic hinge model of deflection in three-point bending of a ductile specimen is applied. This approach assumes a constant rotation centre distance. Values of CTOA for API 5L X65 pipe steel found by three methods—DIC, CNM, and SSM—are given. Values of CTOA given by these three methods are similar and close to 20°. A discussion on the different parameters used to characterize the fracture resistance of running cracks in a pipe under service pressure is presented. The energy of fracture at impact determined by Charpy or drop-weight tear test (DWTT) tests and the critical J energy parameter are considered as well as the yield locus after damage, cohesive zone energy, and CTOA is another approach. One notes that CTOA is assumed to be constant during stable crack extension and decreases linearly with crack length during the instable and primary phase. A numerical technique to describe a ductile running crack using the node release technique and using CTOA as the fracture resistance criterion is presented. This method is compared with three different two-curve methods (TCMs): the Battelle, high strength line pipe (HLP), and HLP-Sumitomo methods. The Batelle TCM, as the oldest method, based on Charpy energy, gives a strongly conservative prediction. Predictions by the CTOA method are close to those obtained by the HLP-Sumitomo one.  相似文献

We consider the problem of estimating a large rank-one tensor u k ∈ (n)k , k ≥ 3 , in Gaussian noise. Earlier work characterized a critical signal-to-noise ratio λ  Bayes = O(1) above which an ideal estimator achieves strictly positive correlation with the unknown vector of interest. Remarkably, no polynomial-time algorithm is known that achieved this goal unless λCn(k − 2)/4 , and even powerful semidefinite programming relaxations appear to fail for 1 ≪ λn(k − 2)/4 . In order to elucidate this behavior, we consider the maximum likelihood estimator, which requires maximizing a degree-k homogeneous polynomial over the unit sphere in n dimensions. We compute the expected number of critical points and local maxima of this objective function and show that it is exponential in the dimensions n , and give exact formulas for the exponential growth rate. We show that (for λ larger than a constant) critical points are either very close to the unknown vector u or are confined in a band of width Θ(λ−1/(k − 1)) around the maximum circle that is orthogonal to u . For local maxima, this band shrinks to be of size Θ(λ−1/(k − 2)) . These “uninformative” local maxima are likely to cause the failure of optimization algorithms. © 2019 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.  相似文献

尾迹与势流的相互作用对压气机叶片表面的压力波动强度和出口的轴向速度分布及波动会产生很大影响。针对两级跨声速轴流压气机,采用数值方法研究两排转子叶片周向相对位置不同情况下,叶片表面压力波动抵消区域位置发生的变化。研究结果表明:转子叶片周向位置的变化会对静子叶片尾迹形态产生影响,会导致叶片表面压力波动抵消区域发生变化。伴随转子叶片周向相对位置的变化,存在上游转子叶片尾迹减缓下游静子叶片尾迹衰减的现象,从而改变了叶片排之间的相互干涉强度,并使叶片表面压力波动强度发生变化。  相似文献
