Background
Growth hormone (GH) plays an incompletely understood role in the development of the central nervous system (CNS). In this study, we use transgenic mice expressing a growth hormone antagonist (GHA) to explore the role of GH in regulating postnatal brain, spinal cord and body growth into adulthood. The GHA transgene encodes a protein that inhibits the binding of GH to its receptor, specifically antagonizing the trophic effects of endogenous GH. 相似文献3.

We describe the integration and use of the Amica software package ("Atoms & Molecules In Chemical Accuracy") within the Extensible Computational Chemistry Environment (Ecce). Amica is capable of accurately solving the electronic Schrodinger equation of small atoms and molecules using terms that are linear in the interelectronic distances, r(12), on multireference level of theory, but it requires expert knowledge to configure and execute its algorithms. Ecce is a comprehensive suite of tools that support the computational chemistry research processes of computation setup, execution, and analysis through a convenient graphical user interface. Additionally, Ecce was architected with mechanisms to integrate alternative electronic structure codes. The successful integration of Amica within Ecce validates the architecture of the latter and brings the high-accuracy capabilities of Amica to a wider audience. 相似文献

This paper presents a two-microphone technique for localization of multiple sound sources. Its fundamental structure is adopted from a binaural signal-processing scheme employed in biological systems for the localization of sources using interaural time differences (ITD). The two input signals are transformed to the frequency domain and analyzed for coincidences along left/right-channel delay-line pairs. The coincidence information is enhanced by a nonlinear operation followed by a temporal integration. The azimuths of the sound sources are estimated by integrating the coincidence locations across the broadband of frequencies in speech signals (the "direct" method). Further improvement is achieved by using a novel "stencil" filter pattern recognition procedure. This includes coincidences due to phase delays of greater than 2pi, which are generally regarded as ambiguous information. It is demonstrated that the stencil method can greatly enhance localization of lateral sources over the direct method. Also discussed and analyzed are two limitations involved in both methods, namely missed and artifactual sound sources. Anechoic chamber tests as well as computer simulation experiments showed that the signal-processing system generally worked well in detecting the spatial azimuths of four or six simultaneously competing sound sources. 相似文献

Fusion cross-sections for the 7Li + 12C reaction have been measured at energies above the Coulomb barrier by the direct detection of evaporation residues. The heavy
evaporation residues with energies below 3 MeV could not be separated out from the α-particles in the spectrum and hence their
contribution was estimated using statistical model calculations. The present work indicates that suppression of fusion cross-sections
due to the breakup of 7Li may not be significant for 7Li + 12C reaction at energies around the barrier. 相似文献

Low-molecular-weight heparins (LMWHs) are produced from heparin by various depolymerization strategies, which result in a reduction of the average molecular weight of the polysaccharide chains, a reduction of the anti-factor IIa activity (and a concomitant increase in the anti-factor Xa/anti-factor IIa ratio), and introduction of process-related structural signatures. Numerous techniques have been developed to characterize LMWHs and to measure the type and extent of structural modifications that are introduced as a function of the depolymerization process. We present here an analysis of the tetrasaccharide pool of enoxaparin sodium, a LMWH produced by chemical β-elimination of heparin benzyl ester. We identify the predominant sequences present within the tetrasaccharide pool and demonstrate that this pool provides a sensitive, specific readout of the physicochemical process conditions used to generate enoxaparin sodium. 相似文献

This paper is concerned with the effect of changes in duct wall acoustic properties on the transmission of sound through ducts. Two special problems are considered. The first problem is that of a rectangular infinite-length duct with airflow and a single change in duct wall acoustic admittance. The second problem is that of an axisymmetric field in a finite circular duct without airflow and with an arbitrary number of duct wall acoustic admittance changes. Results for the first problem show the effect of wall admittance change and flow on the acoustic power transmission within the duct. Results for the second problem show the interactive effects of multiple duct liner sections on power radiated from a finite duct. 相似文献
