The phenomenon of evanescent-wave scattering (EWS) is used to design an optical-fiber humidity sensor. Porous solgel silica (PSGS) coated on the surface of a silica optical-fiber core scatters evanescent waves that penetrate the coating layer. Water molecules in the gas phase surrounding the optical fiber can be absorbed into the inner surface of the pores of the porous silica. The absorbed water molecules form a thin layer of liquid water on the inner surface of the porous silica and enhance the EWS. The amount of water absorbed into the PSGS coating is in dynamic equilibrium with the water-vapor pressure in the gas phase. Therefore the humidity in the air can be quantitatively determined with fiber-optic EWS caused by the PSGS coating. The humidity sensor reported here is fast in response, reversible, and has a wide dynamic range. The possible interference caused by EWS to an optical-fiber gas sensor with a reagent-doped PSGS coating as a transducer is also discussed.  相似文献

A practical, mild, and high-yielding synthetic approach for the synthesis of unknown tetrahydropyrimidinyl substituted 3-coumarins as hybrid scaffolds, potentially useful new chemical entities (NCEs), via metal- and catalyst-free multicomponent cyclization is described. The enhanced nucleophilicity of 3-amino coumarins versus 4-amino coumarin is explained via the difference in 13C NMR δ values (Δδ) of vinylic carbons. Formazans 5(a‐j) have been prepared by the condensation between schiff base 3 and diazonium salt of substituted 2‐amino benzothiazole 4(a‐j) . The intermediate schiff base 3 was synthesized by the condensation of p‐nitrobenzolyhydrazide 1 with thiophene‐2‐aldehyde 2 . All the compounds have been screened for their antifungal activity against Candida albicans (ATCC‐64550), Candida krusei (ATCC‐14243) and Candida parapsilosis (ATCC‐22019) and antibacterial activity against Escherchia coli (ATCC‐6538), Staphylococcus aureus (ATCC‐6538), Pseudomonas aeruginosa (ATCC‐1539) and Bacillus substilis (ATCC‐6633). The structures of the synthesised compounds 5(a‐j) have been characterized on the basis of their elemental analysis and spectral data (UV, IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR and Mass).  相似文献

A pyrene functionalized oxacalix[4]arene architecture (DPOC) was utilized as a fluorescence probe for selective recognition of cyanide ions. The receptor DPOC shows excellent selectivity towards cyanide ion with a red shift of 108 nm in absorption band along with a significant change in colour from light yellow to pink. The fluorescence titration experiments further confirm the lower limit of detection as 1.7µM with no significant influences of competing anions. 1 H-NMR titration experiments support the deprotonation phenomena, as the -NH proton disappears upon successive addition of cyanide ions. The DFT calculation also indicates a certain increment of -NH bond length upon interaction with cyanide ions. The spectral properties as well as colour of DPOC-CN? system may be reversed upon the addition of Ag+/ Cu2+ ions up to 5 consecutive cycles. Moreover, DPOC coated “test strips” were prepared for visual detection of cyanide ions.

Convenient synthesis of 4-substituted 2-aminothiazolo[4,5-d]pyridazinones has been achieved in 12 steps with overall yield of 19% by employing Grignard reaction as the key step. The route utilizes well established thiazole ring formation followed by Grignard reaction to introduce substitution at 4-position effectively. In addition to the use of inexpensive chemicals, the present route first time gave access to the 4-substituted 2-aminothiazolo [4,5-d]pyridazinones with free amino group at C-2 position.  相似文献

Heterocyclic compounds containing pyrazolyl-oxopropyl-quinazolin-4(3H)-one are reported to possess significant biological activity. Syntheses of 6-bromo-2-(3-chloro-2-oxopropyl)-3-(4-fluorophenyl)quinazolin-4(3H)-one 2 6-bromo-3-(4-fluorophenyl)-2-(3-hydrazinyl-2-oxopropyl)quinazolin-4(3H)-one 3 and 6-bromo-2-(3-(3-(4-(1-(2-chlorophenyl)-3-methyl-1H-pyrazol-5(4H)-ylideneamino)phenyl)-5-(substituted phenyl)-4,5-dihydro-1H-pyrazol-1-yl)-2-oxopropyl)-3-(4-fluorophenyl)quinazolin-4(3H)-one 5aj using microwave irradiation have been described. These compounds have been characterized on the basis of the UV, IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, Mass and elemental analysis. Compounds have been evaluated for their antimicrobial activity.  相似文献

A key enzyme for the biosynthesis and bioengineering of heparin, 3-O-sulfotransferase-1 (3-OST-1), was expressed and purified in Gram-positive Bacillus subtilis and Bacillus megaterium. Western blotting, protein sequence analysis, and enzyme activity measurement confirmed the expression. The enzymatic activity of 3-OST-1 expressed in Bacillus species were found to be similar to those found when expressed in Escherichia coli. The endotoxin level in 3-OST-1 from B. subtilis and B. megaterium were 104–105-fold lower than that of the E. coli-expressed 3-OST-1, which makes the Bacillus expression system of particular interest for the generation of pharmaceutical grade raw heparin from nonanimal sources.  相似文献

A novel supramolecular sensor derived from calix[4]pyrrole system i.e. calix[4]pyrrole bearing aminoanthraquinone derivative (CAAQ) have been designed and synthesized. The complexation behavior of metal cations [Ag(I), Ba(II), Ca(II), Ni(II), Co(II), Fe(III), Hg(II), Cu(II), Cr(II), Pb(II), Zn(II), (1 × 10?4 M)] with CAAQ (1 × 10?6 M) was studied by spectrophotometry and spectrofluorometry. Metal ion like Pb(II) produces red shift in absorption spectra and quenching in emission spectra likelihood of strong complexation of Pb(II) ions with CAAQ. Fluorescence cell imaging also supports the complexation of Pb(II) ions with CAAQ. The binding constants, quantum yield, stoichiometry of complex, mechanism of quenching by Stern–Volmer equation and Density functional theory calculation have been determined.  相似文献
