This work presents the implementation of a high‐order, finite‐volume scheme suitable for rotor flows. The formulation is based on the variable extrapolation MUSCL‐scheme, where high‐order spatial accuracy (up to fourth‐order) is achieved using correction terms obtained through successive differentiation. A variety of results are presented, including 2‐ and 3‐dimensional test cases. Results with the proposed scheme, showed better wake and higher resolution of vortical structures compared with the standard MUSCL, even when coarse meshes were employed. The method was also demonstrated for 3‐dimensional unsteady flows using overset and moving grids for the UH‐60A rotor in forward flight and the Enhanced Rotorcraft Innovative Concept Achievement tiltrotor in aeroplane mode. For medium grids, the present method adds reasonable CPU and memory overheads and offers good accuracy on relatively coarse grids.  相似文献

In this work, the catalytic activity of carbon nanotubes (CNTs), carbon black (CB), and CNT-CB counter electrodes in the I/I3 reduction reaction is reported and compared with the Pt counter electrode. The fabricated counter electrodes were evaluated in dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs). The results indicate that the best cathodes were made from CNT10 (240 μm) and CB with a charge transfer resistance (RCT) of 2.70 Ω, and when the complete device shows 19.83 Ω of internal series resistance (RS), the photovoltaic parameters of these cells were JSC = 10.47 mA cm−2; VOC = 0.70 V; and FF = 57.90, with an efficiency of 4.29%, indicating a better interaction between the CNT10 in the 3D network of the counter electrode, generating a good charge transfer kinetics, in comparison with only CNT10 or CB.

Evaluating the availability of molecular oxygen (O2) and energy of excited states in the retinal binding site of rhodopsin is a crucial challenging first step to understand photosensitizing reactions in wild-type (WT) and mutant rhodopsins by absorbing visible light. In the present work, energies of the ground and excited states related to 11-cis-retinal and the O2 accessibility to the β-ionone ring are evaluated inside WT and human M207R mutant rhodopsins. Putative O2 pathways within rhodopsins are identified by using molecular dynamics simulations, Voronoi-diagram analysis, and implicit ligand sampling while retinal energetic properties are investigated through density functional theory, and quantum mechanical/molecular mechanical methods. Here, the predictions reveal that an amino acid substitution can lead to enough energy and O2 accessibility in the core hosting retinal of mutant rhodopsins to favor the photosensitized singlet oxygen generation, which can be useful in understanding retinal degeneration mechanisms and in designing blue-lighting-absorbing proteic photosensitizers.  相似文献

We report the synthesis and X‐ray characterization of the N6‐benzyl‐N6‐methyladenine ligand (L) and three metal complexes, namely [Zn(HL)Cl3]·H2O ( 1 ), [Cd(HL)2Cl4] ( 2 ) and [H2L]2[Cd3(μ‐L)2(μ‐Cl)4Cl6]·3H2O ( 3 ). Complex 1 consists of the 7H‐adenine tautomer protonated at N3 and coordinated to a tetrahedral Zn(II) metal centre through N9. The octahedral Cd(II) in complex 2 is N9‐coordinated to two N6‐benzyl‐N6‐methyladeninium ligands (7H‐tautomer protonated at N3) that occupy apical positions and four chlorido ligands form the basal plane. Compound 3 corresponds to a trinuclear Cd(II) complex, where the central Cd atom is six‐coordinated to two bridging μ‐L and four bridging μ‐Cl ligands. The other two Cd atoms are six‐coordinated to three terminal chlorido ligands, to two bridging μ‐Cl ligands and to the bridging μ‐L through N3. Essentially, the coordination patterns, degree of protonation and tautomeric forms of the nucleobase dominate the solid‐state architectures of 1 – 3 . Additionally, the hydrogen‐bonding interactions produced by the endocyclic N atoms and NH groups stabilize high‐dimensional‐order supramolecular assemblies. Moreover, energetically strong anion–π and lone pair (lp)–π interactions are important in constructing the final solid‐state architectures in 1 – 3 . We have studied the non‐covalent interactions energetically using density functional theory calculations and rationalized the interactions using molecular electrostatic potential surfaces and Bader's theory of atoms in molecules. We have particularly analysed cooperative lp–π and anion–π interactions in 1 and π+–π+ interactions in 3 .  相似文献
