The technique of solution aerosol thermolysis (SAT) for the production of ceramic electrolytic films suitable for solid oxide fuels cells was investigated. The research has focused on the optimization of process parameters and characterization of the obtained films by means of X-ray diffractometry and scanning electron microscopy/energy-dispersive spectroscopy. Dense films of gadolinia-stabilized ceria of uniform thickness have been successfully produced on substrates consisting of dense disks of yttria-stabilized zirconia by SAT using nitrate salts of the precursors dissolved in an ethanol–water solvent. Substrate temperature is an important parameter and in this system the best initial values identified were of the order of 400–420 °C. The interplay between initial substrate temperature, solution flow rate, and postdeposition temperature is important for a good-quality film.  相似文献

The use of guided waves has recently drawn significant interest in the ultrasonic characterization of bone aiming at supplementing the information provided by traditional velocity measurements. This work presents a three-dimensional finite element study of guided wave propagation in intact and healing bones. A model of the fracture callus was constructed and the healing course was simulated as a three-stage process. The dispersion of guided modes generated by a broadband 1-MHz excitation was represented in the time-frequency domain. Wave propagation in the intact bone model was first investigated and comparisons were then made with a simplified geometry using analytical dispersion curves of the tube modes. Then, the effect of callus consolidation on the propagation characteristics was examined. It was shown that the dispersion of guided waves was significantly influenced by the irregularity and anisotropy of the bone. Also, guided waves were sensitive to material and geometrical changes that take place during healing. Conversely, when the first-arriving signal at the receiver corresponded to a nondispersive lateral wave, its propagation velocity was almost unaffected by the elastic symmetry and geometry of the bone and also could not characterize the callus tissue throughout its thickness. In conclusion, guided waves can enhance the capabilities of ultrasonic evaluation.  相似文献

Mosquito flight tones occur during locomotion and courtship and are mostly analyzed using microphones. The use of microphones is impractical for analyzing the wingbeat of non-tethered insects especially if one is interested in studying the frequency content of wingbeats of a large number of insects. In this study we present a practical setting based on a novel 2D optical sensor that we embed inside insectary cages to record the wingbeats of three mosquito species belonging to three different genera, namely Culex pipiens molestus, Anopheles gambiae and Aedes albopictus. We show that this setting allows to automatically create distributions of parameters related to wingbeat frequency and harmonic properties derived from many non-tethered wingbeats and therefore characterize the wingbeat properties of a whole species with increased confidence. Implications for potential applications are discussed.  相似文献

A practical limitation of the application of Smoluchowski's classical estimate for the collisions probability of two diffusing spherical particles in Brownian motion is the non-consideration of interparticle forcves. For suspended particles in water such forces can arise from the disturbance the particle causes in the fluid (hydrodynamic forces), from the cloud of ions which surround an electrically charged particle (double layer forces) or they can be of molecular origin (van der Waals forces). In this paper corrections to Smoluckhowski's collision probability are computed when such forces operate Scoluchowski's collision probability are computed when such forces operate between two approaching particles of various sizes. Results for several values of the van der Waals energy of attraction and the ionic strength of the electrolyte are presented in a way convenient for particle collision modeling.  相似文献
