In this paper we study symbolic dynamics over alphabets which are modules over a principal ideal domain, considering topological shifts which are also submodules. Our main result is the classification, up to algebraic and topological conjugacy, of the torsion-free, transitive, finite memory shifts.

The radiation emitted by charged, scalar particles in a Schwarzschild field with maximal acceleration corrections is calculated classically and in the tree approximation of quantum field theory. In this paper stochastic algorithms for global optimization are reviewed. After a brief introduction on random-search techniques, a more detailed analysis is carried out on the application of simulated annealing to continuous global optimization. The aim of such an analysis is mainly that of presenting recent papers on the subject, which have received only scarce attention in the most recent published surveys. In this paper we introduce the notion of symplectically asystatic Hamiltonian action on a Kahler manifold. In the algebraic setting we prove that if a complex linear group G acts on a Kahler manifold in a symplectically asystatic fashion, then the G-orbits are spherical. In this paper we define trace functionals on the algebra of pseudo-differential operators with cone-shaped exits to infinity. Furthermore, we improve the Weyl formula on the asymptotic distribution of eigenvalues and make use of it in order to establish inclusion relations between the interpolation normed ideals of compact operators in L 2(R n ) and the above operator classes.  相似文献

Kinetic models for chemotaxis, nonlinearly coupled to a Poisson equation for the chemo-attractant density, are considered. Under suitable assumptions on the turning kernel (including models introduced by Othmer, Dunbar and Alt), convergence in the macroscopic limit to a drift-diffusion model is proven. The drift-diffusion models derived in this way include the classical Keller-Segel model. Furthermore, sufficient conditions for kinetic models are given such that finite-time-blow-up does not occur. Examples are given satisfying these conditions, whereas the macroscopic limit problem is known to exhibit finite-time-blow-up. The numerical solution of a nonlinear and nonlocal system of integro-differential equations that models the contraction of a single heterogeneous muscle fiber is studied.
