A polaron state of an electron in a hybrid system composed of a two-dimensional electron gas and a Bose–Einstein condensate of excitons situated in a quantum well coplanar with the electron gas has been investigated. It has been shown that self-localization is possible even at a weak coupling between the components of the structure, when a fluctuation of the density of excitons producing a potential well for the electron is small compared to their average density.  相似文献

Cyclotron resonance in a two-dimensional semimetal has been studied theoretically, keeping in mind recent experiments reported in Z. D. Kvon, S. N. Pamilov, S. D. Ganichev, et al., in Proceedings of the 14th International Conference on Narrow Gap Semiconductors and Systems (Sendai, Japan, 2009). Since the size of the sample is finite, the exciting microwave inhomogeneous and there is a plasma shift of resonance frequency. There are two magnetoplasmon branches in a two-component system, which undergo pseudocrossing under the found criterion. Resonance frequencies and intensities of absorption peaks have been found. The latter are complicated functions of the electron and hole densities.  相似文献

The induced modulation of the exciton density in a system consisting of spatially separated layers of a two-dimensional electron gas and indirect dipolar excitons is studied theoretically. In particular, it is shown that an external potential causes Friedel oscillations in the density of excitons due to their interaction with electrons. Possibilities for experimental observation of this effect are briefly discussed.  相似文献

It has been shown that plasma oscillations in quasi-one-dimensional systems feature the presence of two branches of intersubband plasmons for each pair of subbands. The second (low-frequency) branch lies in the region of the frequency-momentum plane, where a plasma-wave-induced single-particle transition is allowed but there is no Landau damping.  相似文献

Studies of the interaction of a Bose-Einstein condensate of two-dimensional spatially indirect excitons with the static fields of impurities, surface acoustic waves, and elementary excitations of a degenerate electron gas have been reviewed. The effects of screening of charged impurities and absorption of a Bleustein-Gulyaev surface acoustic wave by an exciton condensate have been considered. Friedel oscillations of the exciton density in a hybrid electron-exciton system, which consists of spatially separated layers of condensed exciton gas and degenerate electron gas, have been studied. The lifetimes of quasiparticle excitations (electrons, plasmons, and bogolons) in the hybrid system have been calculated. The contributions to the effects under study from condensate and above-condensate particles have been determined. The properties of an excitonic insulator have been analyzed within the Bardeen-Cooper-Schrieffer model with a built-in dissipation-free current.  相似文献

The plasma oscillation spectrum for 2D electrons in a double quantum well is calculated. It is shown that an additional branch of intersubband plasmons can exist without experiencing Landau damping in the case of nonequilibrium population of subbands. In an asymmetric structure, this branch is responsible for both the emergence of instabilities and the possibility of amplification of plasma waves.  相似文献

The conductance of a quantum ring has been calculated on the basis of the tunneling Hamiltonian in the quasiballistic regime of the motion of electrons with allowance for the spin-orbit interaction. The effect of the scattering of electrons by a single short-range interacting impurity in the quantum ring on the tunneling electron current is analyzed. Two types of impurities, spinless and paramagnetic, are considered. The conductance symmetry is discussed for various electron-spin orientations with respect to change in the sign of the magnetic flux through the quantum ring.  相似文献

We present a model that provides a plausible explanation of the effect of zero-resistance and zero-conductance states in two-dimensional electron systems subjected to a magnetic field and irradiated with microwaves observed in a number of experiments and of the effect’s main features. The model is based on the concept of absolute negative conductivity associated with photon-assisted scattering of electrons on impurities. It is shown that the main features of the effect can be attributed to the interplay of different electron scattering mechanisms.  相似文献
