1.5-MHz repetition rate passively Q-switched Nd:YVO_4 laser based on WS_2 saturable absorber

A transmission-type tungsten disulfide(WS_2)-based saturable absorber(SA) is fabricated and applied to passively Q-switched Nd:YVO_4 laser.The WS_2 nanosheets are deposited on a quartz substrate by the vertical evaporation method.By inserting the WS2 SA into the plano-concave laser cavity,we achieve 153-ns pulses with an average output power of1.19 W at 1064 nm.To the best of our knowledge,both of them are the best results among those obtained by the Q-switched solid-state lasers with WS_2-based absorbers.The repetition rate ranges from 1.176 MHz to 1.578 MHz.As far as we know,it is the first time that MHz level Q-switched pulses have been generated in all solid state lasers based on low-dimensional materials so far.     

Waveguides induced by grey screening solitons

We investigate the properties of waveguides induced by one-dimensional grey screening solitons in biased photorefractive crystals. The results show that waveguides induced by grey screening solitons are always of single mode for all intensity ratios, i.e. the ratios between the peak intensity of the soliton and the dark irradiance. Our analysis indicates that the energy confined near the centre of the grey soliton and the propagation constant of the guided mode of the waveguide induced by the grey screening soliton increase monotonically with intensity ratio increasing. On the other hand, when the soliton greyness increases, the energy confined near the centre of the grey soliton and the propagation constant of the guided mode of the waveguide induced by the grey screening soliton decrease monotonically. Relevant examples are provided where photorefractive crystal is of the strontium barium niobate type.     

Modulation instability of quasi-plane-wave optical beams in biased photorefractive-photovoltaic crystals

We investigate the modulation instability of quasi-plane-wave optical beams in biased photorefractive－photovoltaic crystals by globally treating the space-charge field. The modulation instability growth rate is obtained, which depends on the external bias field, on the bulk photovoltaic effect, and on the ratio of the optical beam's intensity to that of the dark irradiance. Our analysis indicates that this modulation instability growth rate is identical to the modulation instability growth rate studied previously in biased photorefractive－nonphotovoltaic crystals when the bulk photovoltaic effect is negligible for shorted circuits, and predicts the modulation instability growth rate in open- and closed-circuit photorefractive－photovoltaic crystals when the external bias field is absent.     

Optical bistability induced by quantum coherence in a negative index atomic medium

Bistability behaviors in an optical ring cavity filled with a dense V-type four-level atomic medium are theoretically investigated. It is found that the optical bistability can appear in the negative refraction frequency band, while both the bistability and multi-stability can occur in the positive refraction frequency bands. Therefore, optical bistability can be realized from conventional material to negative index material due to quantum coherence in our scheme.     

一种新的热像仪作用距离表示方法

提出了一种利用噪声等效温差(NETD)计算热像仪作用距离的方法.分析了NETD的定义、表达式及其实际使用意义,建立了用NETD表示的热像仪作用距离方程,算法合理准确,提高了热像仪的利用效率.     

3,6-二(N-咪唑/苯并咪唑基)哒嗪配体配合物的合成、结构、荧光及光催化性能

用溶剂热法设计、合成了4个金属-有机配合物[Mn(L¹)₄(OH)₂](1),{[MnL¹(H₂O)₄]SO₄}_n(2),[CdL²(NO₃)₂]_n(3)和{[Co(L²)₂](PF₆)₂}_n(4),(L¹=3,6-二(N-咪唑基)哒嗪,L²=3,6-二(N-苯并咪唑基)哒嗪),并通过元素分析、红外、X射线单晶衍射对配合物结构进行了表征,测试结果表明配合物1具有单核结构,2为一维链结构,配合物3和4均为二维网状结构。此外,对配合物3和4的固态荧光性能及光催化的性能做了进一步研究。     

端面抽运固体激光器热透镜效应的实验研究

提出一种易于实现、对激光器本身没有干扰、高空间精度、可实时测量介质热透镜的干涉测量方法. 并利用此方法全面研究了端面抽运Nd:YVO4激光器的热透镜效应，为认识激光介质的热效应和设计此类激光器提供了参考.  关键词： 热透镜 端面抽运 固体激光器     

Two-Dimensional Photovoltaic Dark Spatial Solitons of Partially Spatially Incoherent Light

We report a successful experimental observation of two-dimensional photovoltaic dark solitons in an anisotropic crystal with partially spatially incoherent light beams. This kind of solitons results from the bulk photovoltaic effect， which depends on the direction of propagation of the optical beam and on the orientation of the intensity gradient, with respect to the principal axes of the crystal     

Low-amplitude vector screening solitons

We show self-coupled and cross-coupled vector beam evolution equations in the low-amplitude regime for screening solitons,which can exhibit the analytical solutions of bright-bright and dark-dark vector solitons.Our analysis indicates that these self-coupled vector solitons are obtained irrespective of the intensities of the two optical beams,whereas these cross-coupled vector solitons can be established when the intensities of the two optical beams are equal.Relevant examples are provided where the photorefractive crystal is lithium niobate(LiNbO3).The stability properties of these vector solitons have been investigated numerically and it has been found that they are stable.
