Polarization State Evolution in Fibre Polarization Transformer Influenced by Phase Difference 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1 下载免费PDF全文
In accordance with the intrinsic structure of controllably-spun birefringent-fibre-based fibre polarization transformer (FPT), the Jones vector is calculated from point to point along the polarization transforming fibre by the cascade differential phase retarder model. It is the first time using this concise method to examine the phasedifference effect on the evolution of state of polarization (SOP) inside this special fibre component. Both the extinction ratio and orientation angle of SOP are calculated to give out a whole evolution history from linear polarization light at the slow spun end into circular polarization light at the fast spun end, and vice versa. The influence of phase-difference is discussed on the polarization transforming performance and further referential conclusion is provided for design and test of the FPT component. 相似文献

The spin effect on a single-mode single-polarization optical fiber is investigated theoretically and numerically. To get a practical single elliptically polarized fiber the normalized spin rate must be in the range of 0.2–0.35. A single elliptically polarized fiber with a normalized spin rate around 0.224 is demonstrated. It has a broad band from1.530 to 1.558 μm, in which the low-leakage elliptically polarized eigenmode loss is kept within 1.2 d B while the high-leakage elliptically polarized eigenmode loss is greater than 20 d B. Analytical expression to calculate propagation constant and mode field of the hollow core Bragg fiber is derived. Numerical results are presented. It is shown that the fundamental mode of the hollow core Bragg fiber is circularly symmetric TE01 mode with no polarization degeneracy, while the higher order mode may be HE11, TM01, or TEo2 etc.. This property is different from conventional optical fiber that its fundamental mode is the linearly polarized HE11 mode and is polarization degeneracy. 相似文献

为制作宽带稳定的光纤偏振控制器件,提出了一种具有宽带稳定偏振拍长的多孔光纤模型.该模型通过调节纤芯附近一对特殊气孔和本底气孔的大小、形状以及气孔的间距,在包层中引入特定非对称结构.由于多孔光纤的偏振拍长对这些特定的非对称结构参量的误差扰动不敏感,而利用这些特定非对称结构产生的具有不同变化趋势的双折射相互补偿可以抑制双折射的非线性变化,因此不仅能有效降低偏振拍长的波长敏感性,而且能够同时降低偏振拍长对包层结构参量误差的敏感性.研究结果表明:以偏振拍长的相对变化率小于±4%为限,在1 550nm波长窗口附近工作带宽达到200nm,同时包层结构几何参量的误差容限达到0.1μm量级,为实际拉制具有宽带稳定偏振拍长的多孔光纤提供了较为可行的工艺结构参量. 相似文献
