Simple route to secondary amides of phosphorylacetic acids and their use for extraction and sorption of actinides from nitric acid solutions

An efficient method for the synthesis of secondary alkylamides of phosphorylacetic acids (APA) was proposed. The method involves amidation of ethyl phosphorylacetates with primary aliphatic amines. The scope of reaction was determined. Reactions with ethylenediamine and 1,4-diaminobutane yield the corresponding bisamides; in the case of 1,3-diaminopropane, N-(3-aminopropyl)diphenylphosphorylacetamide or N,N-propylenebis(diphenylphosphorylacetamide) was obtained, depending on the reaction conditions. The extraction of americium(III) complexes and the sorption of uranium(VI) by sorbents with physically sorbed APA from nitric acid solutions were studied. There is no correlation between the partition coefficient of americium(III) and the structure of APA; in the sorption of uranium(VI), the degree of extraction depends on the complexone structure.__________Published in Russian in Izvestiya Akademii Nauk. Investigation of the phosphinyl analog of α-ketoglutaric acid

It was shown by³¹P and¹³C NMR spectroscopy that methyl(3-carboxy-3-oxopropyl)phosphinic acid (4-methylhydroxyphosphinyl-2-oxobutyric acid) (1) and the amide (2) of the latter exist in keto forms in non-aqueous solutions. In aqueous solutions an equilibrium between the keto,gem-diol, and enol forms has been observed. The proportions of the diol and enol forms increase as the acidity of the media increases. Silylation of acid 1 with hexamethyldisilazane gives the tris(trimethylsilyl) derivative of enol form (3) (Z- andE-isomers).Translated fromIzyestiya Akadetnii Nauk. Extraction Properties of Oligodentate Carbamoylmethylphosphine Oxides and β-Aminophosphine Oxides Toward Lanthanides and Rhenium(VII)

Abstract

The extraction properties of a series of carbamoylmethylphosphine oxides and β-aminophosphine oxides with lanthanide metal ions is presented. Tris[bis(2-diphenyl- phosphorylethyl)-aminoethyl]amine is shown to be highly effective for extraction of Re(VII).

Design of phosphonate analogs of short peptides by “click” chemistry

Methods were developed for the first time for the modification of the natural neuropeptides Ile–Gly–Leu and Leu–Gly–Leu simultaneously with the phosphonate moiety and the triazole ring or solely with the triazole ring by means of click chemistry. All of the peptidomimetics synthesized were isolated as a mixture of diastereomers and were characterized by spectroscopic methods.

     

Novel α-fluorinated cyclic phosphite and phosphinite ligands and their Rh-complexes as suitable catalysts in hydroformylation

Asymmetrical cyclic phosphite and phosphinite ligands of a novel type bearing either trifluoromethyl or pentafluorophenyl group were synthesized using >PCl or >PN< species and racemic fluorinated alcohols. The P-ligands were converted to complexes of Rh^III(L)(Cp^∗)Cl₂ type (where L = phosphite or phosphinite) and, in two instances, their stereostructures were evaluated by X-ray analysis. These complexes along with in situ systems, formed from Rh(CO)₂(acac) precursor and the corresponding ligand, were tested in the hydroformylation of styrene. Both systems provided excellent hydroformylation activities at 100 °C. Using the Rh^I in situ systems, moderate and high regioselectivities towards the branched aldehyde (2-phenyl-propanal) were obtained at 100 and 40 °C, respectively.

N‐phosphorylated 3,5‐bis(arylidene)4‐piperidones: Synthesis,X‐ray structure,and evaluation of antitumor activity

In a search for cytotoxic fluorescent materials, a series of N‐phosphorylated compounds 2a–c were prepared by phosphorylation of 3,5‐bis(4‐N,N‐dimethylbenzylidene)‐4‐piperidone 1 . According to X‐ray investigations, molecule 2a is E,E‐isomer with axial position of the P(O)(OCH₂CF₃)₂ substituent. Fluorescence of compounds 2a–c was found to be similar to fluorescence of nonphosphorylated compound 1 . The cytotoxicity of the compounds 2a–c was estimated on several human tumor cell lines (H9, K562, and MCF7). © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
