A new and simple method for the determination of hydroxylamine in environmental water, such as fresh rivers and lakes using hypochlorite, followed by its gas choromatographic detection, has been developed. A glass vial filled with sample water was sealed by a butyl-rubber stopper and aluminum cap without head-space, and then sodium hypochlorite solution was injected into the vial through a syringe to convert hydroxylamine to nitrous oxide. The head-space in the glass vial was prepared with 99.9% grade N2 using a gas-tight syringe. After the glass vial was shaken for a few minutes, nitrous oxide in the gas-phase was measured by a gas chromatograph with an electron-capture detector. The dissolved nitrous oxide in the liquid-phase was calculated according to the solubility formula. The proposed method was applied to the analysis of fresh-water samples taken from Iu river and Hii river, flowing into brackish Lakes Nakaumi and Shinji, respectively.  相似文献

The friction coefficient between the polymer network of an opaque poly(acrylamide) gel and water is measured as a function of the mole fraction of cross linker. The friction coefficients of opaque gels are 4 to 5 orders of magnitude smaller than those of the transparent gels. This drastic decrease in friction occurs when the mole fraction of cross linker is 0.2. In opaque gels, the friction coefficient of gels and the mole fraction of cross linker are related by a power law. The network structure of the opaque gels used in the friction measurements is examined with a confocal laser scanning microscope. The opaque gel network consists of a fractal aggregate of colloidal particles. The radius of particles and the volume occupied by the particles depend on the mole fraction of cross linker. Both relationships are well described by the power laws. The power law of the friction coefficient is well explained in terms of the power laws of the structural parameters and the Stokes equation of the hydrodynamic friction for the spherical particle. It indicates that the friction of the opaque gel is determined simply by the structure of the polymer network.  相似文献

Chitinase-catalyzed hydrolytic and transglycosylating behavior of 1,2-oxazoline derivative of N-acetyllactosamine (LacNAc-oxa) 1 has been investigated. An extremely rapid hydrolysis (ring-opening of the oxazoline moiety) could be observed, suggesting that 1 behaves as a transition state analogue substrate for chitinase A1 (Bacillus circulans WL-12). This disaccharide monomer 1 was found to polymerize under basic conditions, giving rise to novel oligosaccharides having a β(1-4)–β(1-6) repeating unit in the main chain. The degree of polymerization of the resulting oligosaccharides was up to 5. This is the first example of enzymatic glycosylation reaction forming a β(1-6) bond catalyzed by chitinase.  相似文献

The determination of nanometer thick layers of poly(methyl methacrylate) coated on to the surface of poly(ethylene terephthalate) film has been investigated by high resolution pyrolysis gas chromatography without sample pretreatment or modification of the instrumentation used. A good linear relationship was observed between the quantity of the characteristic pyrolysate and the thickness of the poly(methyl methacrylate) layer; the detection limit was sufficient to enable the quantitation of poly(methyl methacrylate)-to-poly(ethylene terephthalate) film thickness ratios of 1:20000 in composite materials.  相似文献

Polyampholyte gels were prepared by free radical polymerization of aqueous monomer solutions with the following composition: 69% N-isopropylacrylamide (thermosensitive neutral monomer), 1% N,N'-methylenebisacrylamide (cross-linker), 15% 1-vinylimidazole (cationic monomer), and either 15% acrylic acid (AAc, anionic monomer) or poly(acrylic acid) (PAAc, polyanion). We thus obtained two sorts of polyampholyte gels; that is, G1 with immobilized PAAc and G2 with randomly copolymerized AAc. The equilibrium swelling ratio (Qe) was studied as a function of the pH, NaCl concentration, and temperature. Also studied was the kinetics of swelling and shrinking in response to a sudden pH change. The significant results obtained were as follows: (i) A fully collapsed state was observed at pH 4.5-9.0 for G1 and at pH 4.5-7.0 for G2. (ii) Below and above these pH ranges, both gels were in a swollen state; therefore, an isoelectric point (pI) appeared in a wide pH range. (iii) At alkaline pH regions where a hysteresis was observed in the Qe versus pH curves of G1 and G2 as the pH was first increased then decreased, G1 exhibited very slow swelling-shrinking kinetics. (iv) An increase in the NaCl concentration allowed the gel to swell at pH approximately pI (antipolyelectrolyte behavior) but to shrink at pHs below and above the pI range (polyelectrolyte behavior). (v) The magnitude of the salt-induced shrinking of G1 is smaller than that of G2 at pH 10 and at NaCl concentrations > 0.01 M. (vi) At pH 10, an increase in the temperature from 35 to 50 degrees C led to a shrinking change of G1 but not of G2. These results were found to be explicable in terms of a different distribution of negative charges within the polyampholyte gel network.  相似文献

Ginseng, the underground parts of plants of Panax species, has been used in oriental traditional medicine for centuries. Unfortunately, because of extensive exploitation over thousands of years, the natural source of these species has been almost exhausted. Recently, we have found a wild ginseng growing in Myanmar. Here, by a combination of chemical composition study and gene sequence analysis, we unambiguously demonstrate that the wild ginseng is actually P. zingiberensis, commonly known as ginger ginseng. This ginseng was an indigenous to the southwestern China. However, now it is seriously threatened to brink of extinction and is put on the highest level of protection in China. Therefore, an appropriate protection measure is highly recommended to preserve this valuable resource, since this Myanmar ginseng might turn out to be the last P. zingiberensis, which could ever be seen in the planet.  相似文献

We have developed the chemo- and regioselective phosphitylation of unprotected 2′-deoxyribonucleosides by the use of di-tert-butyl N,N-diethylphosphoramidite, a sterically hindered phosphoramidite. Both N/O- and primary hydroxy group-selectivities were simultaneously achieved, and the selectivity for the 5′-hydroxy groups was up to 97% regardless of the base moiety of the 2′-deoxyribonucleosides. The 3′-O-isomers and the 5′-O-isomers were easily separated by silica gel column chromatography or crystallization to give the pure 2′-deoxyribonucleoside 5′-phosphites in moderate to good yields.  相似文献
