In terms of the mapping involved in a variational inequality, we characterize the Gâteaux differentiability of the dual gap function G and present several sufficient conditions for its directional derivative expression, including one weaker than that of Danskin [J.M. Danskin, The theory of max–min, with applications, SIAM Journal on Applied Mathematics 14 (1966) 641–664]. When the solution set of a variational inequality problem is contained in that of its dual problem, the Gâteaux differentiability of G on the latter turns out to be equivalent to the conditions appearing in the authors’ recent results about the weakly sharp solutions of the variational inequality problem.  相似文献

In this paper, we study a semi-infinite programming (SIP) problem with a convex set constraint. Using the value function of the lower level problem, we reformulate SIP problem as a nonsmooth optimization problem. Using the theory of nonsmooth Lagrange multiplier rules and Danskin’s theorem, we present constraint qualifications and necessary optimality conditions. We propose a new numerical method for solving the problem. The novelty of our numerical method is to use the integral entropy function to approximate the value function and then solve SIP by the smoothing projected gradient method. Moreover we study the relationships between the approximating problems and the original SIP problem. We derive error bounds between the integral entropy function and the value function, and between locally optimal solutions of the smoothing problem and those for the original problem. Using certain second order sufficient conditions, we derive some estimates for locally optimal solutions of problem. Numerical experiments show that the algorithm is efficient for solving SIP.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with numerical methods for solving a semi-infinite programming problem. We reformulate the equations and nonlinear complementarity conditions of the first order optimality condition of the problem into a system of semismooth equations. By using a perturbed Fischer–Burmeister function, we develop a smoothing Newton method for solving this system of semismooth equations. An advantage of the proposed method is that at each iteration, only a system of linear equations is solved. We prove that under standard assumptions, the iterate sequence generated by the smoothing Newton method converges superlinearly/quadratically.  相似文献

In this paper, we propose, analyze and test primal and dual versions of the alternating direction algorithm for the sparse signal reconstruction from its major noise contained observation data. The algorithm minimizes a convex non-smooth function consisting of the sum of ? 1-norm regularization term and ? 1-norm data fidelity term. We minimize the corresponding augmented Lagrangian function alternatively from either primal or dual forms. Both of the resulting subproblems admit explicit solutions either by using a one-dimensional shrinkage or by an efficient Euclidean projection. The algorithm is easily implementable and it requires only two matrix-vector multiplications per-iteration. The global convergence of the proposed algorithm is established under some technical conditions. The extensions to the non-negative signal recovery problem and the weighted regularization minimization problem are also discussed and tested. Numerical results illustrate that the proposed algorithm performs better than the state-of-the-art algorithm YALL1.  相似文献

This paper investigates a new class of optimization problems arising from power systems, known as nonlinear programs with stability constraints (NPSC), which is an extension of ordinary nonlinear programs. Since the stability constraint is described generally by eigenvalues or norm of Jacobian matrices of systems, this results in the semismooth property of NPSC problems. The optimal conditions of both NPSC and its smoothing problem are studied. A smoothing SQP algorithm is proposed for solving such optimization problem. The global convergence of algorithm is established. A numerical example from optimal power flow (OPF) is done. The computational results show efficiency of the new model and algorithm.  相似文献

In this paper, the notion of the generalized Tykhonov well-posedness for system of vector quasi-equilibrium problems are investigated. By using the gap functions of the system of vector quasi-equilibrium problems, we establish the equivalent relationship between the generalized Tykhonov well-posedness of the system of vector quasi-equilibrium problems and that of the minimization problems. We also present some metric characterizations for the generalized Tykhonov well-posedness of the system of vector quasi-equilibrium problems. The results in this paper are new and extend some known results in the literature.  相似文献

In this paper we present some semismooth Newton methods for solving the semi-infinite programming problem. We first reformulate the equations and nonlinear complementarity conditions derived from the problem into a system of semismooth equations by using NCP functions. Under some conditions a solution of the system of semismooth equations is a solution of the problem. Then some semismooth Newton methods are proposed for solving this system of semismooth equations. These methods are globally and superlinearly convergent. Numerical results are also given.  相似文献

First, we briefly survey Ramanujan's reciprocity theorem fora certain q-series related to partial theta functions and givea new proof of the theorem. Next, we derive generalizationsof the reciprocity theorem that are also generalizations ofthe 11 summation formula and Jacobi triple product identityand show that these reciprocity theorems lead to generalizationsof the quintuple product identity, as well. Last, we presentsome applications of the generalized reciprocity theorems andproduct identities, including new representations for generatingfunctions for sums of six squares and those for overpartitions.  相似文献

Zagier showed that the Galois traces of the values of j-invariant at CM points are Fourier coefficients of a weakly holomorphic modular form of weight 3/2 and Bruinier–Funke expanded his result to the sums of the values of arbitrary modular functions at Heegner points. In this paper, we identify the Galois traces of real-valued class invariants with modular traces of the values of certain modular functions at Heegner points so that they are Fourier coefficients of weight 3/2 weakly holomorphic modular forms.  相似文献
