This paper presents the stabilization effects of inorganic filler, cerium-doped lead zirconate titanate on high-density polyethylene. The filler was loaded in two concentrations (1 and 3 wt%). The dopant contents in PbZrO3 were 0, 0.05, 0.075, 0.1 and 0.125 mol%. The degradation of hybrid samples was accomplished by γ-irradiation at various doses up to 200 kGy. The isothermal and nonisothermal chemiluminescence (CL) and thermal analysis (TG-DSC) were applied for the thermal stability characterization of modified HDPE samples. The mechanistic considerations and radiochemical consequences caused by the variation of filler concentration and doping level are discussed. The results demonstrate that the filler acts efficiently as stabilizer at low concentration of additive when the lower filler amount is present. The start of degradation precedes melting by four processes through which the chain scission and radical oxidation represent the essential degradation stage. The filler concentration influences the degradation due to the intimate interaction between solid-state defects and free radicals. The polymer protection against oxidation is based on the scavenging of radicals by the doping elements, that is, they trap and block radicals delaying material aging. The present results open a new perspective in the quality amelioration of organic products toward high durability.
A simple X-ray spectrometer and a PC-Based Data Acquisition System(DAS) have been developed newly in Shanghai Institute of Applied Physics(SINAP),Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) for the measurement of the X-ray source generated using laser Compton scattering. The system consists of liquid nitrogen cooled high resolution Si(Li) detector, electronics and a DAQ.The Si(Li) detector was designed and made by Center of Advanced Instruments in SINAP,CAS,it allows us to measure X-rays with the energy up to 60 keV and the energy resolution(FWHM) of 184 eV at 5.9 keV.We measured the system uncertainty was 0.2 eV and time drifting of detector was 0.05% both at 5.9 keV.The DAQ was based on Object-Oriented software LabVIEW 7.1,it has data on-line analysis and original data saved functions. 相似文献
To improve the performances of HDPE-based separators, polyether chains were incorporated into HDPE membranes by blending with poly(ethylene-block-ethylene glycol) (PE-b-PEG) via thermally induced phase separation (TIPS) process. By measuring the composition, morphology, crystallinity, ion conductivity, etc, the influence of PE-b-PEG on structures and properties of the blend separator were investigated. It was found that the incorporated PEG chains yielded higher surface energy for HDPE separator and improved affinity to liquid electrolyte. Thus, the stability of liquid electrolyte trapped in separator was increased while the interfacial resistance between separator and electrode was reduced effectively. The ionic conductivity of liquid electrolyte soaked separator could reach 1.28 × 10-3 S.cm-1 at 25℃, and the electrochemical stability window was up to 4.5 V (versus Li + /Li). These results revealed that blending PE-b-PEG into porous HDPE membranes could efficiently improve the performances of PE separators for lithium batteries. 相似文献
