Although the vibrational spectra of triphosphonitrilic chloride, (PNCl₂)₃ (1), have been studied by numerous investigators^1–8, there is no general agreement about the frequency of completely inactive A₂ ring vibration. Besides, assignment of some overtones and combination bands is doubtful.     

Effect of the nanoparticle size of supported copper-containing catalysts on their activity in the selective oxidation of CO in an excess of H<Subscript>2</Subscript>

The catalytic properties of systems prepared by the supporting of CuO onto CeO₂, ZrO₂, and Zr_0.5Ce_0.5O₂ with particle sizes of 15–25 nm (nitrate pyrolysis (p)) and 5–6 nm (microemulsion method (me)) in the reaction of CO oxidation in an excess of H₂ were studied. In the latter case, the supports had an almost homogeneous surface and a small number of defects. The catalytic activity of (me) and (p) supports was low and almost the same, whereas the catalytic activity of CuO/(CeO₂, ZrO₂, and Zr_0.5Ce_0.5O₂)(me) samples was lower than that of CuO/(CeO₂ and ZrO₂)(p). The maximum CO conversion (∼100% at 125°C) was observed on 5% CuO/CeO₂ (p). The CO and CO₂ adsorption species on (p) and (me) catalysts were studied by TPD. Differences in the compositions of copper-containing centers on the surfaces of (p) and (me) systems were found using TPR. The nature of the active centers of CO oxidation and the effect of support crystallite size on the catalytic activity were considered.

The increasing of yield of X-rays more than two times from femtosecond laser plasma produced in the target microchannel positioned in air compared to the case from fresh target’s surface was registered and the angular dependence of output of X-rays was firstly observed.

Diagnostic Value of Short and Long Echo Time in <Superscript>1</Superscript>H-MRS for Patients with Multiple Sclerosis

The quality of the signal received from metabolites in ¹H-magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) directly depends on physical parameters of the impulse sequence used, namely on Time of Echo (TE). We compare MRS (Achieva 3T PRESS ¹H-MRS (TE = 53 and 144 ms, TR = 2000 ms) data acquired in supraventricular white matter and medial cortex at two various TE (53 and 144 ms) for patients with the multiple sclerosis (25 patients with the confirmed diagnosis of relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis and 20 patients with the diagnosis of secondary progressive multiple sclerosis) and control group (21 healthy volunteers, comparable on age), to evaluate advantages and disadvantages of these two Echo Time in clinical practice.

Study of selective Fischer-Tropsch catalysts synthesized by the destruction of bimetallic carbonyl complexes on activated γ-Al2O3 support

The bimetallic catalysts obtained by the deposition of a Fe?Co binuclear cluster on the dehydroxylated γ-Al₂O₃ are studied and compared to some other relative systems. These bimetallic catalysts are found to be active and selective in olefin synthesis. This is connected with the formation of Fe?Co contact which is detectable by Mössbauer spectroscopy.
