Behavior of aluminum in its anodic oxidation in aqueous solutions of acids and their salts

Influence exerted by the nature and concentration of an electrolyte and by the electrolysis temperature on the process of anodic oxidation of aluminum in aqueous solutions was studied. It was shown that two modifications of aluminum hydroxide are formed as electrolysis products. Making higher the electrolyte concentration and raising the process temperature results in that the fraction of boehmite aluminum hydroxide in the product increases and that of bayerite aluminum hydroxide decreases. A scheme by which aluminum is anodically oxidized in aqueous solutions is suggested.     

Selfadjoint extensions of a singular differential operator

In this work, firstly in the Hilbert space of vector-functions all selfadjoint extensions of the minimal operator generated by linear singular symmetric differential expression with a selfadjoint operator coefficient A in any Hilbert space H, are described in terms of boundary values. Later structure of the spectrum of these extensions is investigated.     

Binary cooligomers of 2-propenylphenol with 1-heptene and 1-decene as antimicrobial additives for lubricating oil I-12A

Binary cooligomers of C₇ and C₁₀ α-olefins with 2-propenylphenol were synthesized in the presence of a complex catalyst based on aluminum chloride, toluene, and ethyl chloride (1:3.0:0.6 mol). Tests of the cooligomers as antimicrobial additives to I-12A oil showed that, in concentrations of 0.25 and 0.5%, they inhibit fungal growth, being superior to 8-hydroxyquinoline (reference) in the efficiency of action.

Characterization of III–V compounds by quasi-elastic electronic scattering of light

Quasi-elastic light scattering from individual electron single-particle excitations is observed experimentally and studied theoretically in n-GaAs and n-InP samples with nonparabolic dispersion of energy bands for a wide range of free-electron concentrations varying from ≈10⁸ to ≈10¹⁹ cm^-3. The results indicate that the scattering mechanisms associated with charge-, spin- and momentum-density fluctuations are represented by different light scattering line shapes and occur in different concentration ranges.
