This article presents an arithmetic for the computation of Chebyshev models for factorable functions and an analysis of their convergence properties. Similar to Taylor models, Chebyshev models consist of a pair of a multivariate polynomial approximating the factorable function and an interval remainder term bounding the actual gap with this polynomial approximant. Propagation rules and local convergence bounds are established for the addition, multiplication and composition operations with Chebyshev models. The global convergence of this arithmetic as the polynomial expansion order increases is also discussed. A generic implementation of Chebyshev model arithmetic is available in the library MC++. It is shown through several numerical case studies that Chebyshev models provide tighter bounds than their Taylor model counterparts, but this comes at the price of extra computational burden.  相似文献

Abstract

The paper deals with the influence of high pressure treatment of fresh egg white on its properties and protein composition (individual amino-acids predicted as a function of pressure and time levels). The rheological properties are changed by high pressure from Newtonian to non-Newtonian behaviour, with increasing apparent viscosity as the pressure and time increased. The pH, whipping ability, foam stability, gel strength of heat induced gels after treatment and the whole protein content, were also predicted.

The results showed that the foam stability is increased with increasing pressure and time of processing. The foam volume is also increased with pressure. The pH did not change with pressure or time of processing. Composition of proteins as indicated by individual amino-acids did not exhibit statistically important changes. Gel strength of heat induced gels prepared from previously pressured liquid whites showed no important change of values with pressure or time of treatment. The modulus of elasticity showed a decrease for samples pressured to 400 MPa for 5 up to 15 minutes.  相似文献

It is possible to describe the pressure degradation of microorganisms as being analogous to thermal inactivation. Equation for baroinactivation is derived from thermal death time (TDT) model D p = D pref 10(pref-p)/z p , where D pref is decimal reduction time at the reference pressure (min), p ref is the reference pressure (MPa), z p is the pressure increase (MPa) required to reduce the D p value by a factor of 10. This method was used for the calculation of baroinactivation model parameters of the total number of microorganisms of pressurized germinated mung bean (green gram) seeds (Vigna radiata (L.) Wilczek). Microbial contamination of germinated mung bean (green gram) seeds can be effectively decreased by treatment at a high pressure of 400 MPa, time of pressurization 5 min.  相似文献

In this paper, we present a novel sequential convex bilevel programming algorithm for the numerical solution of structured nonlinear min–max problems which arise in the context of semi-infinite programming. Here, our main motivation are nonlinear inequality constrained robust optimization problems. In the first part of the paper, we propose a conservative approximation strategy for such nonlinear and non-convex robust optimization problems: under the assumption that an upper bound for the curvature of the inequality constraints with respect to the uncertainty is given, we show how to formulate a lower-level concave min–max problem which approximates the robust counterpart in a conservative way. This approximation turns out to be exact in some relevant special cases and can be proven to be less conservative than existing approximation techniques that are based on linearization with respect to the uncertainties. In the second part of the paper, we review existing theory on optimality conditions for nonlinear lower-level concave min–max problems which arise in the context of semi-infinite programming. Regarding the optimality conditions for the concave lower level maximization problems as a constraint of the upper level minimization problem, we end up with a structured mathematical program with complementarity constraints (MPCC). The special hierarchical structure of this MPCC can be exploited in a novel sequential convex bilevel programming algorithm. We discuss the surprisingly strong global and locally quadratic convergence properties of this method, which can in this form neither be obtained with existing SQP methods nor with interior point relaxation techniques for general MPCCs. Finally, we discuss the application fields and implementation details of the new method and demonstrate the performance with a numerical example.  相似文献

The food safety issues of the high pressure pasteurized fruit/vegetable juices are the focus of this paper. The development of Hazard analysis and critical control points system for production of carrot, red beet and apple/broccoli/orange juice is given together with results of analysis of samples, challenge testing and storage tests. The anti-mutagenic activity in vitro tests are also presented. Procedures have been established for the start-up of experimental production of mentioned juices for the Czech food market. The development of other types of juices based on cruciferous vegetables is mentioned. The aim of this work is to provide the Czech population with information on functional foods that act against chemical mutagens, limiting carcinogenesis.  相似文献

Thin films of bovine serum albumin were prepared by cryogenic matrix assisted pulsed laser evaporation technique under various deposition conditions. Energy density of laser beam changed in the range 0.1-0.5 J cm−2. Films were deposited in vacuum or in nitrogen ambient. Targets were prepared from bovine serum albumin solution in phosphate buffered physiological saline and with an addition of UV absorbers as dimethylsulphoxide, phthalic acid, or adenine. Polyethylene and silicon (1 1 1) were used as substrates. Film properties were studied with atomic force microscopy and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy attenuated total reflection. The deposition changed native conformation of albumin, resulting in the formation of water-insoluble aggregates. Addition of laser light absorbers in target solutions did not prevent the damage of albumin structure.  相似文献

A gram-scale synthesis of a series of 1,1,n,n-tetramethyl[n](2,11)teropyrenophanes (n=7–9) has been accomplished as well as the first synthesis of the next higher homologue 1,1,10,10-tetramethyl[10](2,11)teropyrenophane. The scale-up of the original small-scale synthesis required the development of several heavily modified synthetic methods, including a chlorination/Friedel–Crafts alkylation protocol and an iodination/Wurtz coupling protocol, which were performed on 25–30 g and 30–60 g scales, respectively. Two separate sets of conditions for the key teropyrene-forming cyclodehydrogenation reaction at the end of the synthetic pathway were developed, an acid-promoted one for the two less strained congeners and an acid-free method for the two more strained homologues.  相似文献

Healing of tendon ruptures represents a major challenge in musculoskeletal injuries and combinations of biomaterials with biological factors are suggested as viable option for improved healing. The standard approach of repair by conventional suture leads to incomplete healing or rerupture. Here, a new elastic type of DegraPol® (DP), a polyester urethane, is explored as a delivery device for platelet‐derived growth factor—BB (PDGF‐BB) to promote tendon healing. Using emulsion electrospinning as an easy method for incorporation of biomolecules within polymers, DegraPol® supports loading and release of PDGF‐BB. Morphological, mechanical and delivery device properties of the bioactive DP scaffolds, as well as differences arising due to different electrospinning parameters are studied. Emulsion electrospun DP scaffolds result in thinner fibers than pure DP scaffolds and experience decreased strain at break [%], but high enough for successful surgeon handling. PDGF‐BB is released in a sustained manner from emulsion electrospun DP, but not completely, with still large amount of it being inside the polymeric fibers after 30 d. In vitro studies show that the bioactive scaffolds promote tenocyte proliferation in serum free and serum+ conditions, demonstrating the potential of this surgeon‐friendly bioactive delivery device to be used for tendon repair.

The effect of polyelectrolyte chain length on the formation of multilayered assemblies of alternating globular proteins and linear polyanions prepared by the layer-by-layer electrostatic adsorption technique was investigated. The systems studied were albumin/sodium poly(styrenesulfonate), immunoglobulin G/sodium poly(styrenesulfonate), albumin/sodium dextran sulfate, and albumin/heparin. The formation of assemblies was followed using FTIR multiple internal reflection spectroscopy. While the amount of polyelectrolyte adsorbed on the first (primary) protein layer did not depend on its molecular weight, the effect of polyelectrolyte chain length was clearly observed in the following steps of alternating adsorption. Some short-chain polyanion molecules were removed from the surface when a next protein layer was adsorbed from solution. The short polyanion chains were not able to make a sufficient number of ion pairs for stable interaction with additional protein molecules and left the surface as soluble protein/polyanion complexes. The most pronounced effect could be seen with sodium poly(styrenesulfonate) of Mw up to ca. 2 x 10(4), but a detectable effect could be traced even up to Mw ca. 8 x 10(4). Such a pronounced effect, however, was not observed with dextran sulfate. The effect of molecular weight of heparin was clearly observed but all heparins tested, regardless of their molecular weight, effectively assembled with albumin to form multilayer.  相似文献
