This paper concerns reaction–diffusion systems consisting of three or four equations, which come out of reversible chemistry. We introduce different scalings for those systems, which make sense in various situations (species with very different concentrations or very different diffusion rates, chemical reactions with very different rates, etc.). We show how recently introduced mathematical tools allow to prove that the formal asymptotics associated to those scalings indeed hold at the rigorous level.  相似文献

We study in this work the global existence of solutions to a system of reaction cross diffusion equations appearing in the modeling of multiple sclerosis, in the one-dimensional case. Weak solutions are obtained for general initial data, and existence, uniqueness, stability and smoothness are proven when initial data are smooth.

We study the Cauchy problem for the homogeneous Landau equation of kinetic theory, in the case of hard potentials. We prove that for a large class of initial data, there exists a unique weak solution to this problem, which becomes immediately smooth and rapidly decaying at infinity.  相似文献

We find a lower bound for the entropy dissipation of the spatially homogeneous Landau equation with hard potentials in terms of the entropy itself. We deduce from this explicit estimates on the speed of convergence towards equilibrium for the solution of this equation. In the case of so-called overmaxwellian potentials, the convergence is exponential. We also compute a lower bound for the spectral gap of the associated linear operator in this setting.  相似文献

We present a refined duality estimate for parabolic equations. This estimate entails new results for systems of reaction-diffusion equations, including smoothness and exponential convergence towards equilibrium for equations with quadratic right-hand sides in two dimensions. For general systems in any space dimension, we obtain smooth solutions of reaction-diffusion systems coming out of reversible chemistry under an assumption that the diffusion coefficients are sufficiently close one to another.  相似文献

This paper links at the formal level the entropy structure of a multi-species cross-diffusion system of Shigesada–Kawasaki–Teramoto (SKT) type (cf. [1]) satisfying the detailed balance condition with the entropy structure of a reversible microscopic many-particle Markov process on a discretised space. The link is established by first performing a mean-field limit to a master equation over discretised space. Then the spatial discretisation limit is performed in a completely rigorous way. This by itself provides a novel strategy for proving global existence of weak solutions to a class of cross-diffusion systems.  相似文献

This paper is devoted to the establishment at the formal level of a scaling leading from gas-particles (also called Eulerian-Lagrangian) models for monodisperse thick sprays towards multiphase flows models (also called Eulerian-Eulerian) including the volume fraction as an unknown.
