The valence band electronic structure of Pr0.5Sr0.5MnO3 has been investigated across its paramagnetic metallic (PMM)–ferromagnetic metallic (FMM)–antiferromagnetic insulator (AFMI) transition. Using surface sensitive high resolution photoemission we have conclusively demonstrated the presence of a pseudogap of magnitude 80 meV in the near Fermi level electronic spectrum in the PMM and FMM phases and finite intensity at the Fermi level in the charge ordering (CO)-AFMI phase. The pseudogap behavior is explained in terms of the strong electron–phonon interaction and the formation of Jahn Teller (JT) polarons, indicating the charge localizations. The finite intensity at the Fermi level in the insulating phase showed a lack of charge ordering in the surface of the Pr0.5Sr0.5MnO3 samples.  相似文献

An ongoing major outbreak of mountain pine beetle in Western Canada has provided a clear opportunity to utilize waste pinewood as a source of renewable energy. Therefore hydrothermal processing of waste pinewood as a feedstock for bio-oil and biochar production using subcritical and supercritical water technology was carried out in semi-batch mode to investigate the effect of pressure (200–400 bar) and temperature (300–400 °C) on the yield and composition of bio-oil. The pinewood samples have very high cellulose and hemicellulose content but low ash content and are thus a formidable feedstock for bioenergy production. The optimum conditions for the hydrothermal processing of the pinewood in a tubular reactor were found to be 400 °C and 250 bars with respect to biochar and bio-oil yield based on the highest calorific value analysis. Detailed characterization of bio-oil and biochar was performed using GCMS, NMR, SEM, calorific value, and elemental analysis, respectively. The critical components of bio-oil were found to be phenols, methoxyphenols, hydroxymethyl furfural (HMF), and vanillin, whereas as compared to the raw pine wood, the biochar was considerably lower H:C and O:C ratios than those of the unprocessed pinewood. The analyses of bio-oil by means of GCMS and 1H NMR showed that it was mainly composed of heterocyclic compounds, phenols, aldehydes and acids.  相似文献

A simple and convenient one-pot method for the reductive N-alkylation of (R,R)-trans-1,2-diaminocyclohexane by prochiral ketones using a Ti(OiPr)4/NaBH4 system to obtain the corresponding alkyl amine derivatives in 76–95% yields with good diastereoselectivity (dr = up to 23:1:1) is reported.  相似文献

Hydrated zirconia was synthesized by an organo-inorganic route employing surfactant and was sulfated using aqueous ammonium persulfate, followed by drying at 110 degrees C. The sample thus obtained was calcined at 600 degrees C to obtain sulfated zirconia and was characterized by several physicochemical methods. Crystallite sizes of sulfated zirconia were calculated from X-ray line broadening using the Debye-Scherer equation and were found to be in the range of 25 nm. When pretreated in air, the catalyst was found to exhibit butane isomerization activity at a temperature as low as 35 degrees C under atmospheric pressure. It showed conversion as high as 37% at 100 degrees C under normal pressure when pretreated in air, whereas nitrogen-pretreated catalyst showed zero activity under similar conditions. NH(3) and CO(2) temperature-programmed desorption studies on air- and helium-pretreated samples indicated that the catalyst surface changes appreciably during air pretreatment. Results on butane isomerization in conjunction with TPD studies suggest that zirconium-oxy sites play an important role in butane activation during the reaction.  相似文献

Two coordination polymers of the formula [Zn5(tmaH)4(trz)2(H2O)4] (1) and [Zn3(bta)(trz)2(H2O)4]·2H2O (2) [tmaH3 = benzene-1,3,5-tricarboxylic acid/trimesic acid, trzH = 1,2,4-triazole, btaH4 = benzene-1,2,4,5-tetracarboxylic acid] have been synthesized and structurally characterized by X-ray single crystal diffraction analysis. Both complexes are 3D coordination polymers containing [Zn4(trz)2] units connected by benzene-carboxylate anions. In particular, an undulated layer containing 6- and 18-membered rings is outlined in the network of 1. Hydrogen bonds, involving the coordinated and lattice water molecules with carboxylate oxygen atoms, contribute to the stabilization of the networks. Their thermal stability was investigated by thermogravimetric analysis. The fluorescence spectrum of 1 features two peaks at 419 and 323 nm, originating from a π–π∗ intraligand transition and LMCT, respectively. For 2 a broad band at 410 nm is assigned solely as a π–π∗ intraligand transition.  相似文献

Lanthanum oxide nanoparticles were synthesized via thermal decomposition method of the lanthanum nitrate in the presence of citric acid or starch as emulsifier. The effects of emulsifier and calcination temperature were investigated on the phase transformation and particle size distribution of the products. La2O3 nanoparticles were synthesized by drying lanthanum precursor and emulsifier solution, followed by calcination process at 600 and 900°C, respectively. Products were characterized by Fourier Transform Infrared (FT‐IR) spectroscopy, X‐ray diffraction (XRD), thermal analysis (TG/DTA) and nitrogen adsorption method (porous characteristics). The morphology of the samples analyzed using scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Average crystallite size of the products was calculated by XRD data and average particle size was measured from the TEM micrographs. Lanthanum dioxycarbonate in different forms of the tetragonal and monoclinic is crystallized in the presence of citric acid and starch during the calcination at 600°C, respectively. The hexagonal structure, however, is detected as the only crystalline phase formed by calcination at 900°C.  相似文献

Monodispersed lanthanum tartrate microspheres with flower‐like shape were synthesized by a mild solvothermal method using ethanol‐water mixed system as the solvent. Lanthanum oxide with reserved spherical shape was subsequently fabricated by a following calcination process. X‐ray diffraction analyses (XRD), X‐ray spectroscopy (EDS), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), thermogravimetry‐differential thermal analysis (TG‐DTA) were employed to characterize the composition, structure, and morphology of the products. The lanthanum tartrate microspheres were aggregated by nanosheets as petals. Size of the aggregation and thickness of the petal vary with the vol.% of ethanol. As the vol.% of ethanol increases the degree of aggregation and the thickness of the petal decrease, and other properties such as the size distribution, dispersion are also modulated. These alterations can be interpreted by the changing dielectric constant of mixed solvent. Such lanthanum tartrate can be applied to fabricate micro‐sphereshaped lanthanum oxide after calcination. Novel tomato‐shaped copper oxide crystals has been prepared by a simple hydrothermal method with the presence of Zn2+ ion. The ultrasonic pretreatment has proved to be the key factor during the synthesis process. Scanning electron microscope, energy dispersive X‐ray spectrometry and powder X‐ray diffraction were used to characterize the microstructure and morphology of the as‐prepared products. The obtained tomato‐shaped CuO particles were constructed by nanorods with the diameter of about 20 nm. The possible growth mechanism was proposed based on the experimental results.
