An in situ derivatization solid-phase microextraction method has been developed for the determination of parabens, triclosan and related chlorophenols in water. Acetylated derivatives are selectively determined using gas chromatography with tandem mass spectrometry. Parameters affecting both derivatization and SPME procedures, such as fiber coating, extraction mode, temperature, volume of derivatizating reagent and ionic strength, are studied and optimized through a multifactorial experimental design. The performance of the method is studied in terms of accuracy, linearity, precision and limits of detection. Quantitative recoveries (≥82%) and satisfactory precision (RSD ≤ 12%) are obtained. Limits of detection at the low picogram per millilitre level are achieved for all target compounds. Linearity is studied in a wide range of concentrations and an analysis of variance with a lack-of-fit test is run to validate the calibration data. Extraction time profiles are also obtained. Finally, the applicability of the proposed method is demonstrated for several real samples including river water, wastewaters and swimming pool water. Since no matrix effects are observed, quantification can readily be carried out by external calibration with ultrapure water standards.  相似文献

Rare isotope beams of neutron-deficient 106,108,110Sn from the fragmentation of 124Xe were employed in an intermediate-energy Coulomb excitation experiment. The measured B(E2,0(1)(+)-->2(1)(+)) values for 108Sn and 110Sn and the results obtained for the 106Sn show that the transition strengths for these nuclei are larger than predicted by current state-of-the-art shell-model calculations. This discrepancy might be explained by contributions of the protons from within the Z = 50 shell to the structure of low-energy excited states in this region.  相似文献

The aim of this work is the optimization and application of a group of analytical and microbiological techniques in the study of the activity of essential oils (EOs) incorporated in a new antimicrobial packaging material and the research in depth of the interaction between the microbial cells and the individual compounds present in the active material. For this purpose the antimicrobial activity of the active packaging containing cinnamon or oregano was evaluated against E. coli and S. aureus. The vapour phase activity and the direct contact between the antimicrobial agents themselves, or once incorporated in the packaging material, and the microbial cells have been studied. The direct contact was studied using a broth dilution method. The vapour phase was evaluated by using a new method which involves the use of a filter disk containing the EOs. Furthermore, the kill time assay was used to determine the exposure time for the maximum efficiency in packaging, and transmission electron microscopy was used to investigate the antimicrobial activity and the possible mechanism of action against E. coli and S. aureus. Finally, the compounds absorbed by cells were identified. The results showed that the techniques used provide relevant information about the antibacterial activity of cinnamon and oregano in direct contact as well as in the vapour phase. The antimicrobial packaging showed a fast efficiency which supports its likely application as a food packaging material. Bacteria treated with EOs exhibit a wide range of significant abnormalities; these include formation of blebs, coagulation of cytoplasmatic constituents, collapse of the cell structure and lack of cytoplasmatic material. Some of these observations are correlated to the ability of some of these substances to disrupt envelop structure, especially the inner membrane. After an extraction from dead cells, cinnamaldehyde was detected by GC-MS in E. coli exposed to the active packaging containing cinnamon.  相似文献

Three-branched DNA molecules have been designed and assembled from oligonucleotide components. These nucleic acid constructs contain double- and single-stranded regions that control the hybridization behavior of the assembly. Specific localization of a single streptavidin molecule at the center of the DNA complex has been investigated as a model system for the directed placement of nanostructures. Highly selective silver and copper metallization of the DNA template has also been characterized. Specific hybridization of these DNA complexes to oligonucleotide-coupled nanostructures followed by metallization should provide a bottom-up self-assembly route for the fabrication and characterization of discrete three-terminal nanodevices.  相似文献

Summary: The range of validity of two popular versions of the nitroxide quasi‐equilibrium (NQE) approximation used in the theory of kinetics of alkoxyamine mediated styrene polymerization, are systematically tested by simulation comparing the approximate and exact solutions of the equations describing the system. The validity of the different versions of the NQE approximation is analyzed in terms of the relative magnitude of (dN/dt)/(dP/dt). The approximation with a rigorous NQE, kc[P][N] = kd[PN], where P, N and PN are living, nitroxide radicals and dormant species respectively, with kinetic constants kc and kd, is found valid only for small values of the equilibrium constant K (10−11–10−12 mol · L−1) and its validity is found to depend strongly of the value of K. On the other hand, the relaxed NQE approximation of Fischer and Fukuda, kc[P][N] = kd[PN]0 was found to be remarkably good up to values of K around 10−8 mol · L−1. This upper bound is numerically found to be 2–3 orders of magnitude smaller than the theoretical one given by Fischer. The relaxed NQE is a better one due to the fact that it never completely neglects dN/dt. It is found that the difference between these approximations lies essentially in the number of significant figures taken for the approximation; still this subtle difference results in dramatic changes in the predicted course of the reaction. Some results confirm previous findings, but a deeper understanding of the physico‐chemical phenomena and their mathematical representation and another viewpoint of the theory is offered. Additionally, experiments and simulations indicate that polymerization rate data alone are not reliable to estimate the value of K, as recently suggested.

Oscillatons are spherically symmetric solutions to the Einstein–Klein–Gordon equations. These solutions are non-singular, asymptotically flat, and with periodic time dependency. In this paper, we investigate the geodesic motion of particles moving around of an oscillatonic field. Bound orbits are found for particular values of the particles' angular momentum L and their initial radial position r 0. It is found that the radial coordinate of such particles oscillates in time and we are able to predict the corresponding oscillating period as well as its amplitude. We carry out this study for the quadratic V(φ) = m Φ Φ2/2 scalar field potential. We discuss possible ways to follow in order to connect this kind of studies with astrophysical observations.  相似文献
