Chaotic Analysis of Nonlinear Viscoelastic Panel Flutter in Supersonic Flow   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
In this paper chaotic behavior of nonlinear viscoelastic panels in asupersonic flow is investigated. The governing equations, based on vonKàarmàn's large deflection theory of isotropic flat plates, areconsidered with viscoelastic structural damping of Kelvin's modelincluded. Quasi-steady aerodynamic panel loadings are determined usingpiston theory. The effect of constant axial loading in the panel middlesurface and static pressure differential have also been included in thegoverning equation. The panel nonlinear partial differential equation istransformed into a set of nonlinear ordinary differential equationsthrough a Galerkin approach. The resulting system of equations is solvedthrough the fourth and fifth-order Runge–Kutta–Fehlberg (RKF-45)integration method. Static (divergence) and Hopf (flutter) bifurcationboundaries are presented for various levels of viscoelastic structuraldamping. Despite the deterministic nature of the system of equations, the dynamic panel response can become random-like. Chaotic analysis isperformed using several conventional criteria. Results are indicative ofthe important influence of structural damping on the domain of chaoticregion.  相似文献

In this paper, an analytical matrix method is presented to drive closed-form characteristic equations for natural frequencies of finite monoatomic and diatomic metamaterials with various boundary conditions. Here, we extend the matrix method introduced by Louck for monoatomic lattice chains. The proposed method is used to calculate the vibration frequencies of the monoatomic metamaterials with fixed–fixed, fixed-free and free-free boundary conditions. In addition, the natural frequencies of fixed–fixed diatomic metamaterials are calculated. The existence of band gaps in the frequencies of the metamaterials is numerically shown.

The flexural vibration of viscoelastic carbon nanotubes (CNTs) conveying fluid and embedded in viscous fluid is investigated by the nonlocal Timoshenko beam model. The governing equations are developed by Hamilton's principle, including the effects of structural damping of the CNT, internal moving fluid, external viscous fluid, temperature change and nonlocal parameter. Applying Galerkin’s approach, the resulting equations are transformed into a set of eigenvalue equations. The validity of the present analysis is confirmed by comparing the results with those obtained in literature. The effects of the main parameters on the vibration characteristics of the CNT are also elucidated. Most results presented in the present investigation have been absent from the literature for the vibration and instability of the CNT conveying fluid.  相似文献

In the present study, the stability of a cantilever column resting on an elastic foundation under the action of a uniformly distributed tangential load is discussed. A Winkler type elastic foundation is considered. Moreover, the effect of a lumped mass located in an arbitrary position on the stability of the system when the column is subjected to a partially distributed follower force is investigated. The equations of motion are obtained using the extended Hamilton's principle and the influences of the lumped mass and applied load are included in the equations using the generalized functions theories. Applying the Ritz technique, the resulting equations are transformed into a general eigenvalue problem. The effects of several design parameters such as foundation elastic modulus, ratio of the lumped mass to the column's mass, position of the lumped mass and the distribution model of the follower force are examined. The validity of the present analysis is confirmed by comparing the results with those obtained in literature and excellent agreement is observed. The numerical results reveal that the load distribution length and model have significant effects on the flutter boundaries of the system.  相似文献

Based on vibration analysis, single-layered graphene sheet (SLGS) with multiple attached nanoparticles is developed as nanoscale mass sensor in thermal environments. Graphene sensors are assumed to be in simplysupported configuration. Based on the nonlocal plate the- ory which incorporates size effects into the classical theory, closed-form expressions lot the frequencies and relative fre- quency shills of SLGS-based mass sensor are derived using the Galerkin method. The suggested model is justified by a good agreement between the results given by the present model and available data in literature. The effects of tem- perature difference, nonlocal parameter, the location of the nanoparticle and the number of nanoparticles on the relative frequency shift of the mass sensor are also elucidated. The obtained results show that the sensitivity of the SLGS- based mass sensor increases with increasing temperature difference.  相似文献

In this study, a thin-walled beam made of functionally graded material (FGM) which is used as rotating blades in turbomachinery under aerothermoelastic loading is investigated. The governing equations, which are based on first-order shear deformation theory, include the effects of the presetting angle, the secondary warping, temperature gradient through the wall thickness of the beam and also the rotational speed. Moreover, quasi-steady aerodynamic pressure loadings are determined using first-order piston theory, and steady beam surface temperature is obtained from gas dynamics theory. Then, the blade partial differential equations are transformed into a set of ordinary differential equations using the extended Galerkin method. Finally, having solved the resulting structural–fluid–thermal eigenvalue system of equations, the effects of Mach number and geometric parameters on natural frequencies are presented. The results demonstrate that the natural frequencies decrease under aerothermoelastic loading at high Mach numbers.  相似文献

Single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) exhibit remarkable chirality-dependent mechanical phenomena. In present paper, an anisotropic elastic shell model is developed to study the vibration characteristics of chiral SWCNTs. Analytical solution is presented by using the Flügge shell theory and complex method. The suggested model is justified by a good agreement between the present results and some experimental and numerical available data in literature. Furthermore, the model is used to elucidate the effect of tube chirality on the frequencies of SWCNTs. Finally, the influences of the externally applied mid-face axial force and torque on longitudinal, radial and torsional frequencies of SWCNTs are investigated.  相似文献
