Previously published data on low-p T π+/K +/p?p interactions at 250 GeV/c are used to analyze the rapidity charge distribution and hadron structure function for the projectile hadrons. It is shown that the rapidity charge distribution for projectile hadrons can be approximated by a Gauss distribution, and their structure functions are found.  相似文献

Background Uncertainty quantifications are required for any measurement result to be meaningful.

Objective The present work aims at deriving and comparing a priori estimates of displacement uncertainties in T3-stereocorrelation for a setup to perform high temperature tests.

Methods Images acquired prior to the actual experiment (i.e.,at room temperature) were registered using 3-noded triangular elements (T3-stereocorrelation) to determine displacement uncertainties for different positions of the experimental setup.

Results The displacement uncertainties were then compared to their a priori estimates.

Conclusions For the analyzed experiment, it is shown that noise floor estimates only differed by a factor 2 when compared to a posteriori measurements of standard displacement uncertainties.

This paper presents an alternative to the beta continuous probability distribution for risk analysis. Particular attention has been given to two major applications of distributions, namely project management risk and critical path analysis (PERT). In conjunction with the beta, the triangular and normal distributions are frequently employed in order to give sufficient robustness to risk analysis. The beta distribution, as used in PERT, has a major theoretical implementation flaw. The new distribution was developed to give a possible alternative method of assessing risk. It is shown that the requirement to estimate the most pessimistic variate may be replaced by the probability to exceed the mode. Proposals for other simplifications in risk analysis are discussed. Practical means to validate the most appropriate distributions for risk analysis are outlined, and a cost-data case study is included.  相似文献

We report MD studies on a chloroform / nitric acid water interface, either neat, or saturated by TBP molecules. Two extreme models are compared, where the acid is either neutral HNO3 or dissociated to NO3 and H3O+. The latter species are found to be “repelled” by the neat interface, while the neutral HNO3 molecules are surface active. When the neat interface is saturated by TBP molecules, the latter form highly disordered arrangements instead of a regular monolayer, and water is dragged to the organic phase as 1:1, 1:2 and 2:2 hydrates of TBP. Simulations with the neutral HNO3 model lead to extraction of acid to the organic phase, hydrogen bonded to the phosphoryl oxygen of TBP, forming HNO3:TBP adducts of 1:1 and 2:1 types. Simulations with the ionic model lead to H3O+:TBP adducts of 1:1, 1:2 and 1:3 types in the organic phase and significant mixing of the chloroform, TBP and water liquids in the interfacial region.  相似文献

Cross sections for various channels in 3 prong + V0 final states of K?n interactions are obtained at 8.25 GeV/c. An energy dependence study of the quasi two-body reactions Σ?(1385) + vector meson and ΛB? seem to imply the presence of cuts in the Regge exchange formalism, whereas the reaction Δ(1236) K1 (890) does not require such cuts. Upper limits of 1 and 2 μb are found for the reactions K?n → ΛA1 and K?n → ΛA2.  相似文献
