Electron doping induced stable ferromagnetism in two-dimensional GdI3 monolayer

As a two-dimensional material with a hollow hexatomic ring structure, Néel-type anti-ferromagnetic (AFM) GdI₃ can be used as a theoretical model to study the effect of electron doping. Based on first-principles calculations, we find that the Fermi surface nesting occurs when more than 1/3 electron per Gd is doped, resulting in the failure to obtain a stable ferromagnetic (FM) state. More interestingly, GdI₃ with appropriate Mg/Ca doping (1/6 Mg/Ca per Gd) turns to be half-metallic FM state. This AFM−FM transition results from the transfer of doped electrons to the spatially expanded Gd-5d orbital, which leads to the FM coupling of local half-full Gd-4f electrons through 5d−4f hybridization. Moreover, the shortened Gd−Gd length is the key to the formation of the stable ferromagnetic coupling. Our method provides new insights into obtaining stable FM materials from AFM materials.

作者在用摄影法进行坚直椭圆管内降膜波动实验研究时证实,当Re<400时,降膜内确实存在孤立波;R_(?)>400时,存在随机波.降膜中的孤立波是由小扰动发展而成的.实验结果与理论预测的孤立波特性吻合较好.     

Gypensapogenin H from hydrolyzate of total Gynostemma pentaphyllum saponins induces apoptosis in human breast carcinoma cells

Abstract

Gypensapogenin H (Gyp H) is a novel dammarane-type triterpene, isolated from hydrolyzate of total saponins from Gynostemma pentaphyllum. Our previous work demonstrated that Gyp H exhibited potent growth inhibitory effects on tumor cells. It significantly inhibited the growth of human breast cancer cells (MDA-MB-231), while having low toxicity to normal human breast epithelial cells, MCF-10a. Further mechanistic study demonstrated that Gyp H decreased survival, inhibited proliferation, migration, induced apoptosis and led to cell cycle arrest. For the MDA-MB-231 cell lines, Gyp H increased expression of P21, Bax and cytochrome c, induced PARP cleavage and activated caspases. Gyp H also reduced expression of CDK2/4, CyclinD1, E2F1 and Bcl2, which associated with the cell cycle arrest. Thus, our finding may be useful for understanding the mechanism of action of Gyp H on breast cancer cells and suggest that Gyp H would be a leading agent for the treatment of breast cancer.     

Hopf bifurcation analysis in a fluid flow model of Internet congestion control algorithm

This paper focuses on the Hopf bifurcation analysis of some classes of nonlinear time-delay models, namely fluid flow models, for the Internet congestion control algorithm of TCP/AQM networks. Using tools from control and bifurcation theory, it is proved that there exists a critical value of communication delay for the stability of the network. When the delay passes through the critical value, the system loses its stability and a Hopf bifurcation occurs. Furthermore, the stability of the bifurcation and direction of the bifurcating periodic solutions are determined by applying the normal form theory and the center manifold theorem. Finally, some numerical examples are given to verify the theoretical analysis.     

钒钨酸盐-CdS纳米粒子复合膜的制备与电致变色性能

通过层-层自组装方法制备了由Dawson结构三钒取代型钨酸盐1-K₉P₂W₁₅V₃O₆₂·18H₂O(P₂W₁₅V₃)与CdS纳米粒子构筑的复合膜材料, 研究了CdS纳米粒子添加和复合膜层数对P₂W₁₅V₃多酸复合膜材料电致变色性能的影响. 采用UV, XRD, SEM和循环伏安等测试手段对复合材料的结构和性能进行了表征; 将电化学工作站和紫外-可见吸收光谱联用, 在-1.0~+1.0 V的电压范围内, 对不同层数、 有无CdS纳米粒子复合的的膜材料的电致变色性能进行研究. 研究结果表明, 20层的复合膜材料性能最佳, 光反差为38.05%, 着色时间为3.57 s, 褪色时间为6.94 s, 最大着色效率达到94.04 cm²/C, 实现了从无色、 蓝色到蓝紫色, 再到无色的可逆颜色变化, 相对于单独P₂W₁₅V₃膜, 光反差提高46.07%, 着色效率提高96.53%, 电致变色性能显著提高.

Four new dammarane-type triterpenes derivatives from hydrolyzate of total Gynostemma pentaphyllum saponins and their bioactivities

Phytochemical investigation of hydrolysate of total G. pentaphyllum saponins led to the isolation of four novel triterpenes, Gypensapogenin U (1), Gypensapogenin V (2), Gypensapogenin W (3) and Gypensapogenin X (4). The structures of these compounds were identified by 1D, 2D-NMR and HR-ESI-MS evidences. Additionally, the protective activity of these new compounds against cardiomyocytes injury induced by H₂O₂ and their cytotoxic activity against t-HSC/Cl-6 cells were evaluated.     

Investigation of the intershell higher order resonant recombination and polarization of X-ray emission of B-like silicon ions

K-shell dielectronic, trielectronic, and quadruelectronic recombination and polarization of X-ray emission have been studied for the highly charged Si⁹⁺ ions in the initial ground state ²P_1/2 and the metastable state ²P_3/2 using the Flexible Atomic Code. It is found that the resonant recombination cross section from the long-lived metastable state is comparable in magnitude with that of the ground state, so it is important for plasma diagnostics. For Si⁹⁺(²P_1/2), trielectronic recombination contributions of nearly 25% to the total resonant recombination strength are predicted, which is less than previous calculations. We compare the degree of linear polarization for the eleven dominant resonant recombination satellite lines from the initial parent Si⁹⁺(²P_1/2) and Si⁹⁺(²P_3/2) ions. For the same X-ray lines, large variations of polarization are found between ²P_1/2 and ²P_3/2, which can be employed to diagnose formation mechanisms of intermediate resonance states and corresponding X-ray lines.
