The encapsulation of the nanocrystalline manganese‐doped zinc sulfide (ZnS:Mn) in poly(styrene‐b‐2vinylpyridine) (PS‐PVP) diblock copolymers is reported. Below the critical micelle concentration in the absence of nanocrystals (NCs), inverse micelles of PS‐PVP were induced by adding ZnS:Mn NCs, the presence of which was confirmed by scanning force microscope and dynamic light scattering. In toluene, a PS‐selective solvent, the less‐soluble PVP blocks preferentially surround the ligand‐coated ZnS:Mn NCs. For PS‐PVP encapsulated ZnS:Mn NCs, the ratio of blue emission to orange emission of ZnS:Mn NCs is dependent on both the concentration of PS‐PVP and the solvent quality. The pyridine of PVP blocks form complexes with the Zn atoms via the nitrogen lone pair and thus the sulfur vacancies are passivated. As a result, the defect‐related blue emission is selectively quenched even when the micelles are not formed. As the concentration of PS‐PVP encapsulating the ZnS:Mn NCs increases, the intensity of blue emission decreases. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Our recent extensive research on Lewis acid catalysts with a weak base for the cationic polymerization of vinyl ethers led to unprecedented living reaction systems: fast living polymerization within 1–3 s; a wide choice of metal halides containing Al, Sn, Fe, Ti, Zr, Hf, Zn, Ga, In, Si, Ge, and Bi; and heterogeneously catalyzed living polymerization with Fe2O3. The use of added bases for the stabilization of the propagating carbocation and the appropriate selection of Lewis acid catalysts were crucial to the success of such new types of living polymerizations. In addition, the base‐stabilized living polymerization allowed the quantitative synthesis of star‐shaped polymers with a narrow molecular weight distribution via polymer‐linking reactions and the precision synthesis and self‐assembly of stimuli‐responsive block copolymers. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. [reaction: see text] Triethylborane-induced hydrometalation of alkynes proceeds in an anti manner to afford the corresponding (Z)-alkenylmetal compounds stereoselectively, where dichloroindium hydride would play a key role. A variety of functional groups including hydroxy, carbonyl, and carboxy groups were tolerant under the reaction conditions. Following iodolysis and cross-coupling reaction of the (Z)-alkenylmetal species show the usefulness of this strategy.  相似文献

Alkenylation reaction of alpha-halo carbonyl compounds with alkenylindiums proceeded via a radical process in the presence of triethylborane. Unactivated alkene moieties as well as a styryl group could be introduced by this method. The geometry of the carbon-carbon double bonds of the alkenylindiums was retained. Preparation of an alkenylindium via a hydroindation of 1-alkyne followed by radical alkenylation established an efficient one-pot strategy. [reaction: see text]  相似文献

The decomposition reaction dynamics of 2,3,4,4′,5‐penta‐chlorinated biphenyl (2,3,4,4′,5‐PeCB), 3,3′,4,4′,5‐penta‐chlorinated biphenyl (3,3′,4,4′,5‐PeCB), and 2,3,7,8‐tetra‐chlorinated dibenzo‐p‐dioxin (2,3,7,8‐TCDD) was clarified for the first time at atomic and electronic levels, using our novel tight‐binding quantum chemical molecular dynamics method with first‐principles parameterization. The calculation speed of our new method is over 5000 times faster than that of the conventional first‐principles molecular dynamics method. We confirmed that the structure, energy, and electronic states of the above molecules calculated by our new method are quantitatively consistent with those by first‐principles calculations. After the confirmation of our methodology, we investigated the decomposition reaction dynamics of the above molecules and the calculated dynamic behaviors indicate that the oxidation of the 2,3,4,4′,5‐PeCB, 3,3′,4,4′,5‐PeCB, and 2,3,7,8‐TCDD proceeds through an epoxide intermediate, which is in good agreement with the previous experimental reports and consistent with our static density functional theory calculations. These results proved that our new tight‐binding quantum chemical molecular dynamics method with first‐principles parameterization is an effective tool to clarify the chemical reaction dynamics at reaction temperatures. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A series of 4-phenoxybutyric acid derivatives attached to a tricyclic skeleton were prepared and evaluated as 5alpha-reductase inhibitors. Structure activity relationships for these compounds in terms of rat epididymis (type 2) 5alpha-reductase inhibitory activities reveal that 1) the substitution pattern at the 11-position of dibenz[b,e]oxepin influenced potency, 2) higher lipophilicity of the tricyclic skeleton improved potency, whereas the existence of a basic nitrogen atom in this skeleton was detrimental to potency, and 3) isobutyl substitution at the 8 positon of the azepine skeleton was tolerated. Among the tricyclic compounds studied, 4-[3-[5-benzyl-8-(2-methyl)propyl-10,11-dihydrodibenz[b,f]azepine- 2-carboxamido]phenoxy]butyric acid (26) was the most potent inhibitor of rat type 2 5alpha-reductase at 0.1 microM.  相似文献

Hydrogallation of carbon[bond]carbon multiple bonds proceeds in the presence of triethylborane as a radical initiator. Several functionalities do not interfere with this reaction. Resulting alkenyl- and alkylgallium species can be trapped by several electrophiles. Highly regioselective radical addition of an indium hydride reagent to alkynes is also achieved. Various functionalities are tolerant under the reaction conditions. The reaction proceeds with complete anti stereoselectivity. Alkenylindiums obtained via hydroindation can be employed for the following cross-coupling reaction with aryl halides in one pot.  相似文献

Oxidation reactions of 2,5- and 3,6-di-tert-butyl-3H-azepines (1 and 2) with selenium dioxide (SeO(2)) were performed. The oxidation of 1 with SeO(2) gave 3-tert-butyl-7,7-dimethyl-4-oxo-octa-2,5-dienal 3 in 36% yield, 4-tert-butyl-5-(3,3-dimethyl-2-oxo-butylidene)-1, 5-dihydro-pyrrol-2-one 4 in 13% yield, 2, 6-di-tert-butyl-2-pyridinecarbaldehyde 5 in 12% yield, and 4, 7-di-tert-butyl-2H-azepin-2-one (2-azatropone) 6 in 6% yield, respectively. Oxidation of 2 with SeO(2) gave 2, 2-dimethyl-1-[2-(5-tert-butyl)-pyridyl]propanol 7 in 55% yield, and 3,6-di-tert-butyl-2H-azepine 8 in 5% yield, respectively. We found that selenium dioxide oxidation of 1 affords 4-oxo-octa-2,5-dienal 3 by a new ring cleavage reaction of 1, and we described the first synthesis of 2-azatropone 6 from this oxidation of 1. In the case of 2, pyridylpropanol 7 was obtained as the major product. We now report in detail result of these oxidation reactions, which have led to the synthesis of a novel azatropone derivative.  相似文献
