Well‐defined polystyrene‐ (PSt) or poly(ε‐caprolactone) (PCL)‐based polymers containing mid‐ or end‐chain 2,5 or 3,5‐ dibromobenzene moieties were prepared by controlled polymerization methods, such as atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) or ring opening polymerization (ROP). 1,4‐Dibromo‐2‐(bromomethyl)benzene, 1,3‐dibromo‐5‐(bromomethyl)benzene, and 1,4‐dibromo‐2,5‐di(bromomethyl)benzene were used as initiators in ATRP of styrene (St) in conjunction with CuBr/2,2′‐bipyridine as catalyst. 2,5‐Dibromo‐1,4‐(dihydroxymethyl)benzene initiated the ROP of ε‐caprolactone (CL) in the presence of stannous octoate (Sn(Oct)2) catalyst. The reaction of these polymers with amino‐ or aldehyde‐functionalized monoboronic acids, in Suzuki‐type couplings, afforded the corresponding telechelics. Further functionalization with oxidable groups such as 2‐pyrrolyl or 1‐naphthyl was attained by condensation reactions of the amino or aldehyde groups with low molecular weight aldehydes or amines, respectively, with the formation of azomethine linkages. Preliminary attempts for the synthesis of fully conjugated poly(Schiff base) with polymeric segments as substituents, by oxidative polymerization of the macromonomers, are presented. All the starting, intermediate, or final polymers were structurally analyzed by spectral methods (1H NMR, 13C NMR, and IR). © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Nucleolytic activities of novel mononuclear Cu(II), homo- and heterodinuclear Cu(II)–Ni(II) complexes with two diester-type ligands were investigated on pCYTEXP by neutral agarose gel electrophoresis. The analyses of the cleavage products obtained electrophoretically indicate that the examined complexes induce very similar conformational changes on supercoiled DNA by converting supercoiled form to nicked form. At concentrations greater than 100M, the complexes possessed effective nucleolytic activities for 10min of incubation time. However, their nucleolytic activities did not increase significantly with longer periods of incubation. The pH-nucleolytic activity profiles of the complexes differed significantly. Metal complex induced DNA cleavage was also tested for inhibition by various radical scavengers. It could be proposed from the data that diffusible intermediate oxidants are not involved in these reactions or they are not necessary for DNA cleavage since none of antioxidants inhibited DNA cleaving activities of the complexes.  相似文献

Summary. Methotrexate (MTX) is a folate antagonist used in treatment of several chronic inflammatory and neoplastic conditions. In this study, new MTX-like compounds that may-be potential anticancer agents were synthesized and their structures were determined by IR, UV, GC-MS, 1H NMR, and 13C NMR spectra. Also, in this study, a series structurally related to MTX or folate analogous compounds were evaluated whether they have inhibitory properties on the dihydrofolate reductase activity (DHFR).  相似文献

Given the NP-Hard nature of many optimization problems, it is often impractical to obtain optimal solutions to large-scale problems in reasonable computing time. For this reason, heuristic and metaheuristic search approaches are used to obtain good solutions fast. However, these techniques often struggle to develop a good balance between local and global search. In this paper we propose a hybrid metaheuristic approach which we call the NeuroGenetic approach to search for good solutions for these large scale optimization problems by at least partially overcoming this challenge. The proposed NeuroGenetic approach combines the Augmented Neural Network (AugNN) and the Genetic Algorithm (GA) search approaches by interleaving the two. We chose these two approaches to hybridize, as they offer complementary advantages and disadvantages; GAs are very good at searching globally, while AugNNs are more proficient at searching locally. The proposed hybrid strategy capitalizes on the strong points of each approach while avoiding their shortcomings. In the paper we discuss the issues associated with the feasibility of hybridizing these two approaches and propose an interleaving algorithm. We also provide empirical evidence demonstrating the effectiveness of the proposed approach.  相似文献

The thermal degradation characteristics of a new macromonomer poly(-caprolactone) with central 4,4′-dicarbaldehyde terphenyl moieties and poly(phenylene vinylene)s with well defined (-caprolactone), (PPV/PCL) as lateral substituents were investigated via direct pyrolysis mass spectrometry. The unexpectedly high thermal stability of the macromonomer was attributed to intermolecular acetylation of benzaldehyde yielding a hemiacetal and causing a crosslinked structure during the pyrolysis. Increased thermal stability of the PCL chains was detected for all samples. The increase in stability of PCL chains was much more pronounced than was detected for poly(p-phenylene)-graft-poly(-caprolactone) copolymer (PPP/PCL); the upward temperature shift was about 100 °C for PPV/PCL and only 20 °C for PPP/CL. This pronounced effect may be due to higher thermal stability of PPV compared to PPP and the decrease in steric hindrance for PPV with PCL side chains.  相似文献
