A line shape matching procedure, programmed for a digital computer, is described. Based upon a least squares analysis the procedure enables one to select a line shape of a suitable analytical form and determine its parameters for the representation of an experimental single line absorption spectrum. The limits of reliability of the parameters found in this way are also calculated. The procedure is applied to the ESR spectra of liquid sulphur.  相似文献

In subnormal glow discharge under d.c. excitation at different pressure in a varying transverse magnetic field (0 to 30 G) some measurements have been carried out for various initial average tube currents. The voltage across the discharge increases and average tube current and residual current decreases in the magnetic field. With the help of Beckman’s expression [4] for the axial field and the electron density distribution in a transverse magnetic field the observed variation of current and voltage can be satisfactorily explained. The variation of axial electric field with transverse magnetic field can be represented to a fair degree of accuracy by the derived equation. The behaviour of residual current with magnetic field has been observed in these oscillations.  相似文献

Heavy ion irradiation in the electronic stopping power region induces macroscopic dimensional change in metallic glasses and introduces magnetic anisotropy in some magnetic materials. The present work is on the irradiation study of ferromagnetic metallic glasses, where both dimensional change and modification of magnetic anisotropy are expected. Magnetic anisotropy was measured using Mössbauer spectroscopy of virgin and irradiated Fe40Ni40B20 and Fe40Ni38Mo4B18 metallic glass ribbons. 90 MeV 127I beam was used for the irradiations. Irradiation doses were 5×1013 and 7.5×1013 ions/cm2. The relative intensity ratios D 23 of the second and third lines of the Mössbauer spectra were measured to determine the magnetic anisotropy. The virgin samples of both the materials display in-plane magnetic anisotropy, i.e., the spins are oriented parallel to the ribbon plane. Irradiation is found to cause reduction in magnetic anisotropy. Near-complete randomization of magnetic moments is observed at high irradiation doses. Correlation is found between the residual stresses introduced by ion irradiation and the change in magnetic anisotropy.  相似文献

The changes in the layered structure of Mg-Al hydrotalcite (Mg/ Al = 2) during heat treatment have been investigated by using in situ XAFS simultaneously at the Mg and Al K-edges. The development of unique in situ instrumentation allowed the coordination environments at both the Mg and Al centers to be monitored as a function of the temperature and heat treatment. The results of this study show that the hydrotalcite structure is highly flexible, and should lead to the further development of hydrotalcites as new solid basic catalysts. Moreover, the Mg and Al cations in the cation layers show different behavior as a function of temperature. The coordination of some octahedral Al ions decreases already at a temperature of 425 K, whereas the coordination about Mg does not show any modification at this temperature. However, hydrotalcite treated at 425 K, followed by cooling down to room temperature resulted in a complete reversal to the original octahedral Al coordination. It is proposed that Al-OH bond breakage occurs at 425 K, without the evolution of H2O. This bond is restored after cooling to room temperature. The actual dehydroxylation of hydrotalcite commences between 425 and 475 K, as indicated by a change in coordination of both the Mg and Al centers. This is accompanied by the evolution of H2O molecules and the changes are hence irreversible without the presence of excess water. Heat treatment at 725 K leads to the development of an MgO-like phase (octahedral Mg) and a mixed octahedral/tetrahedral Al phase. A subsequent rehydration at room temperature entirely restores the original coordination about the Al and Mg centers of hydrotalcite to a distance of 15 A, to which XAFS spectroscopy is sensitive.  相似文献

Atomic XAFS is a very attractive technique for probing electronic properties of supported metal nanoclusters. For platinum nanoparticles on different supports, the technique is found to be in good agreement with infrared CO adsorption measurements. The advantages of AXAFS, however, are that no probe molecule is required and that real-time measurements under reaction conditions are possible.  相似文献

Vanadium oxide (1 wt %) supported on gamma-Al(2)O(3) was used to investigate the interface between the catalytically active species and the support oxide. Raman, UV-vis-NIR DRS, ESR, XANES, and EXAFS were used to characterize the sample in great detail. All techniques showed that an isolated VO(4) species was present at the catalyst surface, which implies that no V-O-V moiety is present. Surprisingly, a Raman band was present at 900 cm(-1), which is commonly assigned to a V-O-V vibration. This observation contradicts the current literature assignment. To further elucidate on potential other Raman assignments, the exact molecular structure of the VO(4) entity (1 V=O bond of 1.58 A and 3 V-O bonds of 1.72 A) together with its position relative to the support O anions and Al cation of the Al(2)O(3) support has been investigated with EXAFS. In combination with a structural model of the alumina surface, the arrangement of the support atoms in the proximity of the VO(4) entity could be clarified, leading to a new molecular structure of the interface between VO(4) and Al(2)O(3). It was found that VO(4) is anchored to the support oxide surface, with only one V-O support bond instead of three, which is commonly accepted in the literature. The structural model suggested in this paper leaves three possible assignments for the 900 cm(-1) band: a V-O-Al vibration, a V-O-H vibration, and a V-(O-O) vibration. Electrospray ionization Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry (ESI-FTICRMS) has been used to determine the mass of a double-stranded 500 base-pair (bp) polymerase chain reaction (PCR) product with an average theoretical mass of the blunt-ended (i.e. unadenylated) species of 308 859.35 Da. The PCR product was generated from the linearized bacteriophage Lambda genome which is a double-stranded template. Utilization of ethanol precipitation in tandem with a rapid microdialysis step to purify and desalt the PCR product was crucial to obtain a precise mass measurement. The PCR product (0.8 pmol/μL) was electrosprayed from a solution containing 75% acetonitrile, 25 mM piperidine, and 25 mM imidazole and was infused at a rate of 200 nL/min. The average molecular mass and the corresponding precision were determined using the charge-states ranging from 172 to 235 net negative charges. The experimental mass and corresponding precision (reported as the 95% confidence interval of the mean) was 309 406 +/- 27 Da (87 ppm). The mass accuracy was compromised due to the fact that the PCR generates multiple products when using Taq polymerase due to the non-template directed 3'-adenylation. This results in a mixture of three PCR products with nearly identical mass (i.e. blunt-ended, mono-adenylated and di-adenylated) with unknown relative abundances that were not resolved in the spectrum. Thus, the experimental mass will be a weighted average of the three species which, under our experimental conditions, reflects a nearly equal concentration of the mono- and di-adenylated species. This report demonstrates that precise mass measurements of PCR products up to 309 kDa (500 bp) can be routinely obtained by ESI-FTICR requiring low femtomole amounts. Herein we describe a structural characterisation with EXAFS of copper(I) arenethiolate complexes in both the solid and liquid state. Previously noted difficulties in the detection of the Cu-Cu interaction have been attributed to anti-phase behaviour of different Cu-Cu neighbour contributions. A data analysis procedure solely based on EXAFS parameters is presented which resolves these problems. A careful analysis of the individual coordination shells and the use of different k-weightings during the data analysis are shown to be an absolute necessity to obtain reliable results. During R-space fitting, the difference file technique is used to separate, examine and compare the individual contributions. Using this technique their statistical significance and correctness can be determined. Anti-phase behaviour can be detected and accounted for in this way. An additional mixed organocopper aggregate [Cu4(SAr)2(Mes)2] with different Cu sites is analysed, which proves the value of the analysis procedure described above. Moreover, this newly developed EXAFS data analysis procedure is applicable to any other EXAFS spectrum obtained. The structural analysis of these organocopper complexes with EXAFS provides information about their actual structure and dynamic behaviour in solution. The technique can now be used to obtain insights into the reactivity of these complexes and the way in which they form catalytic reaction intermediates.  相似文献

The use of ion chromatography with continuous UV detection for radiochemical separation of Cr with simultaneous yield determination is presented. The RNAA method consists of sample destruction in HNO3+HClO4, extraction of Cr(VI) with tribenzylamine in CHCl3, backextraction in NaOH and chromatography of chromate. From radiotracer experiments, the ratio of signals for51Cr and Cr spike was found to be constant for a chromium mass range of 15 to 100 g. Application of the RNAA method to Cr determination in biological reference materials showed a reasonable agreement with the reference values.
