One pot three component synthesis of spiro [indolo-3,10’-indeno[1,2-b]quinolin]-2,4,11’-triones as a new class of antifungal and antimicrobial agents

A simple and efficient three component procedure has been developed for the synthesis of highly substituted spiro[indolo-3,10'-indeno[1,2-b]quinolin]-2,4,11'-triones by one pot three component condensation of enaminones, isatin and indane-1,3-dione in ethanol:water (1:1) in presence of ceric ammonium nitrate (CAN) as catalyst. This method provides several advantages such as lesser reaction time, high yield of products and operational simplicity. The antimicrobial activity of some of the compounds has been investigated against six microbial strains, some of the tested compounds showed good antimicrobial activity.     

Chemoselective Alkylation of Thiols: A Detailed Investigation of Reactions of Thiols with Halides

Arylthiols, aralkylthiols and alkane thiols can be readily alkylated by alkyl/aralkyl halides in presence of K₂CO₃DMF to yield unsymmetrical sulphides in nearly quantitative yields. 2-Mercaptoethanol gave the thioether chemoselectively.     

Optimality and duality in vector optimization involving generalized type I functions over cones

In this paper generalized type-I, generalized quasi type-I, generalized pseudo type-I and other related functions over cones are defined for a vector minimization problem. Sufficient optimality conditions are studied for this problem using Clarke’s generalized gradients. A Mond-Weir type dual is formulated and weak and strong duality results are established.     

Efficient and Green Syntheses of 12-Aryl-2,3,4,12-tetrahydrobenzo[b]xanthene-1,6,11-triones in Water and Task-Specific Ionic Liquid

Facile and convenient one-pot cascade/tandem approaches for the syntheses of privileged medicinal scaffolds, 12-aryl-2,3,4,12-tetrahydrobenzo[b]xanthene-1,6,11-trione derivatives, have been reported under extremely mild reaction conditions using a catalytic amount of H₂SO₄ in water or in the presence of the acidic ionic liquid bmim[HSO₄], which could be recycled.

Nickel Boride–Mediated Cleavage of 1,3-Dithiolanes: A Convenient Approach to Reductive Desulfurization

1,3-Dithiolanes are rapidly cleaved by nickel boride, generating corresponding hydrocarbons in excellent yields. The hydrogenolysis is rapid at room temperature and does not require protection from the atmosphere. Mild reaction conditions, simple workup, and good yields of pure products are some of the major advantages of the procedure.

Ionic liquid: an efficient and recyclable medium for the synthesis of octahydroquinazolinone and biscoumarin derivatives

Abstract  

A facile and environmentally benign procedure for the synthesis of octahydroquinazolinone and biscoumarin derivatives in ionic liquids is reported. Octahydroquinazolinones were synthesized in the presence of trimethylsilyl chloride (TMSCl) while the synthesis of biscoumarins required no additive. The ability to reuse the ionic liquid, the high yields, and ease of purification are the important features of this process.     

Acid Catalyzed Efficient Syntheses of Aryl‐5H‐dibenzo[b,i]xanthene‐5,7,12,14‐(13H)‐tetraones and 3,3‐(Arylmethylene)bis(2‐hydroxynaphthalene‐1,4‐diones) and In Vitro Evaluation of their Antioxidant Activity

A simple and efficient synthesis of aryl‐5H‐dibenzo[b,i]xanthene‐5,7,12,14‐(13H)‐tetraones and 3,3‐(arylmethylene)bis(2‐hydroxynaphthalene‐1,4‐diones) by the condensation of aromatic aldehydes and 2‐hydroxy‐1,4‐naphthoquinone under extremely mild conditions using catalytic amount of H₂SO₄ or in the presence of acidic ionic liquid 1‐butyl‐3‐methylimidazolium hydrogen sulphate, which could be recycled, has been reported. The radical scavenging capacity of the synthesized compounds has been examined towards the stable free radical 2,2‐diphenyl‐1‐picrylhydrazyl (DPPH), and the compounds 2 were found to scavenge DPPH free radical efficiently.     

CPT Violation in Atmospheric Neutrino Oscillation: A Two Flavour Matter Effects

We have studied CPT Violation in atmospheric neutrino oscillation considering two flavour framework with matter effects. We analyze the atmospheric neutrino data within the simplest scheme of two neutrino oscillation. We consider as special case of matter density profile, which are relevant for neutrino oscillations. In particular, we compute to constrain a specific from of CPT violation in matter by upper bound, \(|\Delta _{31}^{m}-\overline {\Delta _{31}^{m}}<<4.80\times 10^{-3}eV^{2}\) and \(|sin2\theta _{13}^{m}-sin2\bar {\theta _{13}^{m}}|<0.685.\) The dispersion relation for the CPT violation in neutrino oscillation in matter are discussed
