We show that gamma-ray stimulated emission experiments are comparatively easy and inexpensive. The registration of a double- (N/Nγ) and a triple-energy peak (N/Nγ) is possible and the relation between their intensities permits the calculation of the recoilles factor fs (stimulated) and making a conclusion about constructing a working gamma-ray laser. Summary Proceeding from the drastic discrepancy between experimental data and theory, we show (contrary to other authors) that the relations between the Einstein's coefficients are true for transitions from any of the excited levels and theground state of the quantum system only. The relations connecting those coefficients are derived for transitions betweenany two states; the corresponding cross-sections are calculated and it is shown (contrary to other authors) that the stimulated emission cross-section may be large enough for the creation of gamma lasers. The new relation for Einstein's coefficients (and the corresponding cross-sections) are fundamentally different from those known so far (74 years after Einstein). The results are compared with experiment and the coincidence is very good. These investigations can lead to progress in the study of physical processes in star atmospheres. Ten international laboratories participated in an inter-laboratory comparison of a fossil bone composite with the objective of producing a matrix and structure-matched reference material for studies of the bio-mineralization of ancient fossil bone. We report the major and trace element compositions of the fossil bone composite, using in-situ method as well as various wet chemical digestion techniques.For major element concentrations, the intra-laboratory analytical precision (%RSDr) ranges from 7 to 18%, with higher percentages for Ti and K. The %RSDr are smaller than the inter-laboratory analytical precision (%RSDR; <15-30%). Trace element concentrations vary by ∼5 orders of magnitude (0.1 mg kg−1 for Th to 10,000 mg kg−1 for Ba). The intra-laboratory analytical precision %RSDr varies between 8 and 45%. The reproducibility values (%RSDR) range from 13 to <50%, although extreme value >100% was found for the high field strength elements (Hf, Th, Zr, Nb). The rare earth element (REE) concentrations, which vary over 3 orders of magnitude, have %RSDr and %RSDR values at 8-15% and 20-32%, respectively. However, the REE patterns (which are very important for paleo-environmental, taphonomic and paleo-oceanographic analyses) are much more consistent.These data suggest that the complex and unpredictable nature of the mineralogical and chemical composition of fossil bone makes it difficult to set-up and calibrate analytical instruments using conventional standards, and may result in non-spectral matrix effects. We propose an analytical protocol that can be employed in future inter-laboratory studies to produce a certified fossil bone geochemical standard.  相似文献

We study the asymptotic behaviour of the trace (the sum of the diagonal parts) τ n = τ n (ω) of a plane partition ω of the positive integer n, assuming that ω is chosen uniformly at random from the set of all such partitions. We prove that (τ n c 0 n 2/3)/c 1 n 1/3 log1/2 n converges weakly, as n → ∞, to the standard normal distribution, where c 0 = ζ(2)/ [2ζ(3)]2/3, c 1 = √(1/3/) [2ζ(3)]1/3 and ζ(s) = Σ j=1 j s . (1) Background: Myoinositol (MI) and D-chiro-inositol (DCI) are involved in a number of biochemical pathways within oocytes having a role in oocyte maturation, fertilization, implantation, and post-implantation development. Both inositols have a role in insulin signaling and hormonal synthesis in the ovaries. (2) Methods: Literature search (with key words: inositols, myo-inositol, d-chiro-inositol, PCOS) was done in PubMed until Sept. 2020 and 197 articles were identified, of which 47 were of clinical trials (35 randomized controlled trials). (3) Results: Many studies have demonstrated that in patients with polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) MI treatment improved ovarian function and fertility, decreased the severity of hyperandrogenism including acne and hirsutism, positively affected metabolic aspects, and modulated various hormonal parameters deeply involved in the reproductive axis function and ovulation. Thus treating with MI has become a novel method to ameliorate PCOS symptoms, improve spontaneous ovulation, or induce ovulation. The current review is focused on the effects of MI and DCI alone or in combination with other agents on the pathological features of PCOS with focus on insulin resistance and adverse metabolic outcomes. (4) Conclusions: The available clinical data suggest that MI, DCI, and their combination in physiological ratio 40:1 with or without other compound could be beneficial for improving metabolic, hormonal, and reproductive aspects of PCOS.  相似文献
