Protein phosphatase one (PP1) is a ubiquitously expressed, highly conserved protein phosphatase that dephosphorylates target protein serine and threonine residues. PP1 is localized to its site of action by interacting with targeting or regulatory proteins, a majority of which contains a primary docking site referred to as the RVXF/W motif.     

Intermediate boundary corrections for split operator methods in three dimensions

This paper deals with the intermediate boundary corrections required by splittings of alternating direction methods for solving three space dimensional problems involving Laplace's equation or the heat conduction equation. In addition to considering the existing splittings of Douglas and D'Yakonov, a new splitting is introduced. The extensions of the results to multidimensional problems are briefly noted.     

An algorithm for reducing the generalised moment of inertia of the variable-attribute matrix of a system

An algorithm is presented for reducing the generalised moment of inertia of a rectangular variable-attribute matrix by applying independent row and column permutations. Finite termination properties of the algorithm are demonstrated and its application to two problems reviewed.

The ratio of K-capture to positon emission in the decay of 120Sb: Experiment and theory disagree

Recent review papers have indicated that experimental K.-capture to positon emission ratios in allowed decays disagree with theory especially for high-Z nuclei. The experimental error has never been sufficiently small to verify this with certainty. The K-capture to positon emission ratio, , in ¹²⁰Sb has been measured with an uncertainty of about 3% and found to lie about 16% lower than the most recent theoretical predictions.
