Abstract— The chemiluminescence (CL) emitted during the peroxidase catalyzed oxidation of purpurogallin and pyrogallol depends on one and two molecules of enzyme, respectively. Using microperoxidase, CL with purpurogallin also depends on two molecules of enzyme (above 0.3 μ M enzyme). Sodium azide inhibits the CL emitted by all reactions depending on two molecules of enzyme but enhances the CL of reactions depending on one molecule of peroxidase (purpurogallin + 0.75 n M horseradish peroxidase). The formation of functional enzyme dimols during the oxidative process is discussed.  相似文献

Abstract— The absorption and fluorescence spectra of two functional ionic detergents containing an indole chromophore have been studied as micelle probes and have been compared to the corresponding spectra of 1-methylindole. The quenching of the fluorescence of the probes by NO-2 and Co2+ has also been investigated. Based on the results obtained, it is concluded that 1-methylindole is associated with the surface of HDTBr micelles, whereas it is located in the interior of SDS micelles. The chromophore of the indole detergents is considered to be located in the interior of HDTBr and SDS micelles.  相似文献

Abstract— The critical micelle concentration (CMC) of a fluorescent detergent may be measured by determining Stern-Volmer quenching parameters as a function of detergent concentration. The CMC's of a cationic detergent, 11-(3-hexyl-l-indolyI)undecyltrimethylamrnoniurn bromide (6-In-ll+), and an anionic detergent, sodium H-(3-hexyI-l-indoiyI) undecyl sulfate (6-In-ll) were determined by this quenching procedure. Quenchers which were predominantly located in the aqueous phase (e.g. Co2+) or in the micellar phase (e.g. benzophenone) were employed. Aqueous phase quenchers are more effective below the CMC and cause a decrease in the long wavelength portion of the fluorescence band of the indole moiety. Quenchers located in the micellar phase are more effective above the CMC and decrease the short wavelength portion of the fluorescence band of the system.  相似文献
