We developed an environmentally friendly method for aerobic oxidation of alcohols using a commercially available, relatively benign bismuth salt as a catalyst. We found that the catalytic combination of BiBr3 with nitric acid is key for enhancing the reactivity. The reaction proceeds well under air, making the use of pure oxygen unnecessary. Each of the primary or secondary alcohols tested was oxidized to the corresponding aldehydes or ketones using this protocol.  相似文献

Fully π-conjugated ladder polymers with a spiral geometry represent a new class of helical polymers with great potential for organic nanodevices, but there is no precedent for an optically active helical ladder polymer totally composed of achiral units. We now report the defect-free synthesis and resolution of a fully π-conjugated helical ladder polymer with a rigid helical cavity, which has been achieved by quantitative and chemoselective acid-promoted alkyne benzannulations of a rationally designed, random-coil achiral polymer followed by chromatographic enantioseparation. Because of a sufficiently high helix-inversion barrier, the isolated excess one-handed helical ladder polymer with a degree of polymerization of more than 15 showed a strong circular dichroism with a dissymmetry factor of up to 1.7×10−2 and is thermally stable, maintaining its optical activity in solution even at 100 °C, as well-supported by molecular dynamics simulation.  相似文献

We have discovered a mechanism which can significantly reduce the dislocation density during the growth of GaN single crystals in the Na flux method. The significant reduction of the dislocation density occurs in the later stage of LPE growth, rather than solely at the seed-LPE interface for which we have already reported evidence indicating the presence of bundling dislocations. The two-step dislocation reduction is the key in achieving extremely low dislocation density using this method.  相似文献

Geometry optimization was performed for the ground states of FeCO, Fe(CO)2, and Fe(CO)3 at various levels of ab initio calculations, and the bond lengths and dissociation energies obtained were in reasonable agreement with experimental results. The nature of bonding was studied for these molecules using a complete-active-space self-consistent-field method. From the Mulliken population analysis, it was found that the traditional donation and back donation mechanism is valid for these molecules, including Fe(CO)3, which has a pyramidal structure. In this paper, we propose a new three-wavelength method for automatic measurement of principal-stress directions over an entire model on the basis of four-step phase shift method. This method uses four fringe patterns captured by a color charge-coupled devices (CCD) camera corresponding to four angular position arrangements of polaroids in a dark-field plane polariscope. The principal-stress directions can be determined by a single calculation. The method is applied to a circular disc under compression. The principal-stress direction distributions obtained from the proposed method are compared with those obtained from a conventional method and theory. It can be obviously seen that the proposed method accurately yields the principal-stress directions compared with the conventional method.  相似文献
