We construct random locally compact real trees called Lévy trees that are the genealogical trees associated with continuous-state branching processes. More precisely, we define a growing family of discrete Galton–Watson trees with i.i.d. exponential branch lengths that is consistent under Bernoulli percolation on leaves; we define the Lévy tree as the limit of this growing family with respect to the Gromov–Hausdorff topology on metric spaces. This elementary approach notably includes supercritical trees and does not make use of the height process introduced by Le Gall and Le Jan to code the genealogy of (sub)critical continuous-state branching processes. We construct the mass measure of Lévy trees and we give a decomposition along the ancestral subtree of a Poisson sampling directed by the mass measure. T. Abstract— Besides the normal tryptophan (Trp) fluorescence in aqueous solution (emission maximum at 350 nm), a new emission, peaking around 380 nm, appears by long wavelength excitation. Its fluorescence yield (φs 0.24) is higher than that of tryptophan (φTrp= 0.13). The growth of this emission is observed under different experimental conditions, mainly under UV anaerobic irradiation. To explain this observation, the formation of a C3-hydroxylated derivative is tentatively suggested.  相似文献

This paper deals with the thermal degradation and fire performance of silicone‐based coatings for protecting steel. In this study, the fire performance of silicone coatings as virgin or formulated materials is evaluated using two homemade fire testing methodologies: one similar to the “torch test” fire testing method and the other using a heat radiator test. It was shown that the performance of the silicone‐based coating used as thermal barrier can be improved incorporating a modifier (a mixture of polydimethylsiloxane and silica coated by a silane). In this case, silicone‐based coating swells and exhibits same fire performance as commercial intumescent coating at the torch test. It is shown that the incorporation of modifier in the silicone makes it to swell upon heating resulting in the formation of expanded material exhibiting low heat conductivity. Thermal degradation of the coating is also investigated: it occurs in three main steps leading to the formation of a tridimensional network characterized by the formation of Q4 structure at high temperature. Besides the well-known papain, lipolytic activity is another interesting enzymatic activity present in latex from Carica papaya. This lipolytic activity is strongly attached to the latex solid phase, resulting in a naturally immobilized biocatalyst. In this work we describe the kinetic resolution of (R,S)-2-bromophenylacetic acid octyl ester by Carica papaya crude latex and two partially purified latex fractions. Several parameters, such as substrate concentration and solvent effects were studied. The best results were obtained using decane as solvent with 50 mM of substrate and 50 mg/mL enzyme/reaction medium; under these conditions, a high enantioselectivity (E >200) was obtained with crude latex. A twofold increase of the initial rate maintaining E >200 was obtained using purified fractions without protease and without esterase. Lipase from Carica papaya latex is the most enantioselective wild-type enzyme ever described for the studied reaction.  相似文献

A nitrogen‐, phosphorus‐ and chlorine‐containing flame retardant, hexachlorocyclotriphosphazene (HCTP), has been covalently grafted onto the surface of multi‐wall carbon nanotubes (MWNT) to obtain MWNT‐HCTP. Polyamide 6 (PA6)/MWNT composites were then prepared via melt compounding. The flammability of PA6/MWNT composite was characterized by cone calorimetry, limiting oxygen index (LOI) and UL‐94 tests. The results showed that peak heat release rate of samples containing 3 wt% MWNT‐HCTP was only 460 kW/m2, which decreased by 35.2% compared with that of a neat PA6 sample. The LOI value was increased from 22.7% to 26.5%, and UL‐94 test performance was also significantly improved by the presence of MWNT‐HCTP. Scanning electron microscope (SEM) and optical microscope analysis showed that modified MWNT had a better dispersion and compatibility in PA6 than unmodified MWNT. The composition of residue chars and volatile products was investigated by SEM/energy dispersive X‐ray spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and thermogravimetric‐FTIR, respectively. It was proposed that grafted HCTP was mainly functioned in the condensed phase, where P, N can synergistically promote char formation and Cl element can catch free radicals to terminate the chain reaction during combustion of the PA6 composite. A new supported catalytic system, i.e. nickel bromide catalyst ligated by triphenylphosphine (TPP) ligands immobilized onto crosslinked polystyrene resins (PS-TPP) is reported. Per se, this catalyst does not allow any control over the polymerization of methyl methacrylate (MMA) initiated by ethyl 2-bromoisobutyrate but, in the presence of a given amount of purposely added free TPP, it promotes controlled ATRP of MMA. Indeed colorless PMMA chains of low polydispersity indices are readily recovered, the molecular weight of which linearly increases with monomer conversion and agrees with the expected values. Recycling of the supported catalyst is evidenced and does not prevent the polymerization from being controlled.  相似文献

We show that the nonlinear behavior of transverse acoustic waves can reveal the anisotropic structure of an icosahedral quasicrystal, at the macroscopic level. We report experiments performed in i-Al-Pd-Mn. We observe that a primary transverse acoustic wave can generate a second harmonic transverse acoustic wave. We also observe a specific relation between the polarization directions of those waves. These observations are manifestations on a macroscopic scale of the long-range order in quasicrystals.  相似文献

The electron probe microanalyzer is a device often used in the field of geology or in the glass and steel industries. However, it is barely known or used in the polymer field. Thus, in this paper, we investigate the use of electron probe microanalyzer for polymer microanalyses and compared it with a scanning electron microscope equipped with an energy dispersive spectrometer. To show the unique potential of this technique only develop in our lab for polymer application, three different samples were studied: (i) a fire protective epoxy‐based coating submitted to aging in salt water, (ii) the distribution of organometallic catalysts into a thermal isolative silicone polymer, and (iii) the fouling growth of milk protein (biopolymer) on a stainless steel surface. Compared to an energy dispersive spectrometer, with an electron probe microanalyzer it is possible to quickly create X‐ray mappings of low concentration elements at a good resolution, as well as allowing the interpretation of the mechanism of action for the three samples which was impossible using only an energy dispersive spectrometer because of its too low detection resolution. Microcins, gene-encoded antibacterial peptides from enterobacteria   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
Microcins are gene-encoded antibacterial peptides, with molecular masses below 10 kDa, produced by enterobacteria. They are secreted under conditions of nutrient depletion and exert potent antibacterial activity against closely related species. Typical gene clusters encoding the microcin precursor, the self-immunity factor, the secretion proteins and frequently the post-translational modification enzymes are located either on plasmids or on the chromosome. In contrast to most of the antibiotics of microbial origin, which are non-ribosomally synthesized by multimodular enzymes termed peptide synthetases, microcins are ribosomally synthesized as precursors, which are further modified enzymatically. They form a restricted class of potent antibacterial peptides. Fourteen microcins have been reported so far, among which only seven have been isolated and characterized. Despite the low number of known representatives, microcins exhibit a diversity of structures and antibacterial mechanisms. This review provides an updated overview of microcin structures, antibacterial activities, genetic systems and biosyntheses, as well as of their mechanisms of action.  相似文献
