The most commonly used offshore oil-production platforms, the jacket structures, because of their long service in a very hostile environment, require periodic inspection for structural integrity. Present-day diver inspection is highly uneconomical and has certain inherent limitations. To overcome these limitations, it has been proposed to use an instrumented monitoring system based on the dynamic response of the platform. Several investigations were carried out to remove the uncertainties in this method which arose mainly from changes in the mass on the deck and marine growth. One of the important proposals investigated was the use of modal vectors. But these investigations were based on simple analytical and physical models. In order to assess the efficiency of using modal vectors to monitor the structural integrity of the platform, a detailed study was carried out on a real platform. Finite-element and physical models of the platform were used in the investigation. This paper reports on the physical model tests. A geometric model of the platform was tested under electrodynamic and wave excitation, simulating damages in the structure and changing the mass on the deck. In all tests, modal frequencies and modal vectors in different degrees of freedom were determined by autospectral analysis of acceleration response. Baed on the results, a scheme for integrity monitoring of a fixed offshore platform is suggested which, if implemented carefully, can at least minimize, if not dispense with, the uneconomic diver inspection.  相似文献

A simple mathematical theory is proposed for the analysis of the buoyancy-driven heat and mass transfer flow induced by an instantaneous point source in an unbounded fluid-saturated porous medium of uniform porosity, assuming the validity of the Brinkman model. The theory consists of retaining only the leading terms of the series expansions of the dependent variables in terms of the thermal Rayleigh number and is valid within the limit of small Rayleigh numbers only. The heat generating rate is assumed to be not excessive, so that the induced flow is slow. The evolution of the flow field is demonstrated by drawing the streamlines at various times, and the results are delineated by comparing them with those of the Darcy flow model. The significance of the impact of species concentration gradients upon the thermally driven flow has been highlighted. Even though heat was specified to be one of the two diffusion mechanisms, the results apply as well to the case where the source simultaneously generates two different chemical components.  相似文献

The supercontinuum generation (SCG) in liquid core photonic crystal fiber (LCPCF) with versatile nonlinear response and the spectral broadening in dual core optical fiber is presented. The analysis is presented in two phase, phase I deals with the SCG in LCPCF with the effect of saturable nonlinearity and re-orientational nonlinearity. We identify and discuss the generic nature of the saturable nonlinearity and reorientational nonlinearity in the SCG, using suitable model. For the physical explanation, modulational instability and soliton fission techniques is implemented to investigate the impact of saturable nonlinear response and slow nonlinear response, respectively. It is observed that the saturable nonlinearity inevitably suppresses the MI and the subsequent SCG. On the other hand, the re-orientational nonlinearity contributes to the slow nonlinear response in addition to the conventional fast response due to the electronic contribution. The phase II features the exclusive investigation of the spectral broadening in the dual core optical fiber.  相似文献

A new 2,2′-azinobis-(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) (ABTS)-radical scavenging and antiproliferative agents of pyrrolo[1,2-a]quinoline derivatives have been synthesized. An efficient method for the synthesis of 14 novel diversified pyrrolo[1,2-a]quinoline derivatives has been described using 4-(1,3-dioxolan-2-yl)quinoline and different phenacyl bromides in acetone and followed by reacting with different acetylenes in dimethylformamide/K2CO3. The structure of the newly synthesized compounds was determined by infrared, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, mass spectrometry, and elemental analysis. The in vitro antioxidant activity revealed that among all the tested compounds 5n exhibited maximum scavenging activity with ABTS. Compound 5b has showed good antiproliferative activity as an inhibitor of epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) tyrosine kinase.  相似文献

Single crystals of 2-aminomethylpyridinium picrate (2-AMPP) were grown by slow evaporation-solution growth technique at room temperature. The cell and structural parameters of the grown crystal were determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. The characteristic functional groups in the compound were identified from Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. The transmission and absorption spectra of this crystal show that the lower cut-off wavelength lies at 360 nm. Thermal analysis was performed to study the thermal stability of the grown crystal. The powder second harmonic generation efficiency of the grown crystal measured by Kurtz technique is 2 times efficient than potassium dihydrogen orthophosphate (KDP). Vicker's microhardness test showed that the hardness value increases with increasing the applied load up to 50 g. The dielectric measurements of the compound in the frequency region from 50 Hz to 5 MHz showed that the material has lesser defects and can be used for optical application.  相似文献

A new semiorganic compound, bis(diethylammonium) tetrachloromercurate(II) was grown by slow evaporation solution growth technique at ambient temperature from its aqueous solution. The crystal system and the cell parameters have been identified from the powder X-ray diffraction pattern. The UV–visible absorption of the compound shows absorption at 246 nm and there is absorption observed in the entire visible region indicates that the compound can be used as a nonlinear optical material. The UV–visible transmittance spectrum of grown crystal shows a lower cut-off wavelength at 275 nm and it was found that the crystal is suitable for optoelectronic applications. Thermal studies were carried out to find out the thermal stability and confirm the stoichiometric ratio of the compound. The thermal anomalies in DSC study indicate the occurrence of first order transition in the compound at low temperatures. The FTIR spectrum of the compound characterizes various functional groups. The various kinds of protons and carbons were assigned through NMR (1H and 13C) spectroscopic techniques. The SHG efficiency of the compound was studied by Kurtz-Perry power technique and observed that it has SHG efficiency 1.5 times greater than that of potassium dihydrogen phosphate (KDP). The dielectric constant and dielectric loss of the compound decreases with increase in frequency.  相似文献

Free convection motion induced by a travelling thermal wave in a horizontal porous layer is studied analytically assuming the validity of the Brinkman model.
