In this paper, we propose a new adsorption model for molecular oxygen on reduced TiO2(110), based on extensive first principles density functional calculations. For the first time, our calculations predict formation of tetraoxygen (O4) anchored at the vacancy site, which in turn allows adsorption of three O2 molecules per vacancy in saturation coverage. We present the structure, bonding, and energetics of adsorbed oxygen species by changing the number of adsorbed oxygen molecules per vacancy. We also find that thermally activated O2 desorption may take place via two channels that require overcoming barriers of 0.41 and 1.25 eV, respectively. In addition, our study provides strong theoretical evidence for the change in O2 reactivity with O2 coverage. Our findings associated with tetraoxygen complexes are consistent with existing experimental results.  相似文献

First principles periodic slab calculations based on gradient-corrected density functional theory have been performed to investigate CO oxidation on rutile TiO2(110) at varying O2 coverages (theta = 1, 2, and 3, where theta is defined as the number of O2 per oxygen vacancy). For each coverage we only present the reaction of CO with oxygen species in the most stable configuration. Our results show a significant variation in the oxidation activation energy with O2 coverage.  相似文献

Adenosine triphosphate (ATP) provides energy for the regulation of multiple cellular processes in living organisms. Capturing the spatiotemporal dynamics of ATP in single cells is fundamental to our understanding of the mechanisms underlying cellular energy metabolism. However, it has remained challenging to visualize the dynamics of ATP in and between distinct intracellular organelles and its interplay with other signaling molecules. Using single fluorescent proteins, multicolor ATP indicators were developed, enabling the simultaneous visualization of subcellular ATP dynamics in the cytoplasm and mitochondria of cells derived from mammals, plants, and worms. Furthermore, in combination with additional fluorescent indicators, the dynamic interplay of ATP, cAMP, and Ca2+ could be visualized in activated brown adipocyte. This set of indicator tools will facilitate future research into energy metabolism.  相似文献

Croton hirtus L’Hér methanol extract was studied by NMR and two different LC-DAD-MSn using electrospray (ESI) and atmospheric pressure chemical ionization (APCI) sources to obtain a quali-quantitative fingerprint. Forty different phytochemicals were identified, and twenty of them were quantified, whereas the main constituents were dihydro α ionol-O-[arabinosil(1-6) glucoside] (133 mg/g), dihydro β ionol-O-[arabinosil(1-6) glucoside] (80 mg/g), β-sitosterol (49 mg/g), and isorhamnetin-3-O-rutinoside (26 mg/g). C. hirtus was extracted with different solvents—namely, water, methanol, dichloromethane, and ethyl acetate—and the extracts were assayed using different in vitro tests. The methanolic extracts presented the highest 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH), 2,2′-azino-bis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline)-6-sulfonic acid (ABTS), and ferric reducing antioxidant power (FRAP) values. All the tested extracts exhibited inhibitory effects on acetylcholinesterase (AChE) and butyrylcholinesterase (BChE), with a higher activity observed for dichloromethane (AChE: 5.03 and BChE: 16.41 mgGALAE/g), while the methanolic extract showed highest impact against tyrosinase (49.83 mgKAE/g). Taken together, these findings suggest C. hirtus as a novel source of bioactive phytochemicals with potential for commercial development.  相似文献
