The thermal conductivity κ of photonic crystals differing in degree of optical homogeneity (single crystals of synthetic opals) was measured in the 4.2–300 K temperature range. The thermal conductivity revealed, in addition to the conventional decrease in comparison with solid amorphous SiO2 characteristic of porous solids, a noticeable decrease for T<20 K, the range wherein the phonon wavelength in amorphous SiO2 approaches the diameters of the contact areas between the opal spheres. This effect is enhanced in the case of phonon propagation along the SiO2 sphere chains (six directions in the cubic opal lattice). The propagation of light waves (photons) through a medium with spatially modulated optical properties (photonic crystals) is presently well studied. The propagation of acoustic waves through a medium with spatially modulated acoustic properties (phononic crystals) may also reveal specific effects, which are discussed in this paper; among them are, e.g., the ballistic mode of phonon propagation and waveguide effects.  相似文献

The SPEKTR module of the MIR orbital station was launched in May 1995. The multipurpose experiment was based on the GRIF-1 research complex consisting of an oriented X-ray spectrometer, a spectrometer of gamma-quanta and neutrons, a spectrometer of electrons and protons with a large geometrical factor, and a spectrometer of electrons, protons, and nuclei with a small geometrical factor. The solar geophysical aspects of the experiment included the measurements of spectral and temporal parameters of solar hard electromagnetic (0.01–50 MeV) and neutron (>20 MзB) radiation, the study of spectral, temporal, and spatial characteristics of energetic electrons (0.04–1.5 MeV), protons, and nuclei (1–200 MeV/nucleon) in the circumterrestrial space, as well as the correlations of these parameters with solar activity phenomena.  相似文献

The electric response of layered 2-2 connectivity magnetoelectric composites to the action of a modulated heat flow, which is detected by a dynamic method, is studied. The kinetics of the pyroelectric response of the composite material to a pulsed thermal action is calculated. The experimental results and calculation data suggest that a modulated heat action induces a signal due to both the pyroelectric and piezoelectric effects. The latter effect is caused by the mechanical interaction of the layers of lead zirconate titanate ceramic and nickel–zinc (Ni–Zn) ferrite.  相似文献
