Miaodao Islands, lying across the Bohai Gulf between Jiaodong Peninsula and Liaodong Peninsula.are also called Changshan Islands. They consist of eighteen big and small islands, aligned in NNEdirection. The largest of them is the South Changshan Island, which lies at the southernmost end. Thedistance between South Changshan Island and Penglai County is 7 km, and Miaodao Islands have anarea of 12.75 km~2. Because of the fall of the sea level, Miaodao Islands formed a land bridge linkingJiaodong Peninsula and Liaodong Peninsula during the Quaternary period, thus playing an importantrole in the development of mankind and exchange of culture (Fig. 1). Miaodao Islands have been in a structural uplift for a long time, and their outlines are controlledby structural lines in NE, NNE, NW and EW directions. Most of the islands are composed of quartzite of Sinian Age. The coast of each island is bordered with cliffs. The quartzite gravels, fine in textureand multicoloured, on the beach are well rounded. 本文论述了庙岛黄土的成因,黄土物质来源有二:一为西北气流自亚洲内陆搬运来的物质;另一物源由地方风系吹物海底沉积物就地降落,两者混合而成。本群岛的黄土堆积与冰期气候控制的低海面时期相吻合。第四纪期间,随着海面的升降,这些岛屿曾多次成为沟通胶辽的渤海陆桥。  相似文献

本文首次论证庙岛群岛的红色风化壳和棕红土的成因、时代及古气候变化。红色风化壳属于湿热气候环境下脱硅富铁铝型的风化产物,而棕红土是在半干旱温暖气候条件下由风力作用堆积而成的黄土物质。它们分别与我国北方内陆的上新世红土和早更新世午城黄土相当。在渤海海域的上新世和早更新世之间气候环境发生过突变。这种变化具有全球性意义。  相似文献
