The simple and effective technique of fission track etch has been applied to determine trace concentration of uranium in human blood samples taken from two groups of male and female participants: leukemia patients and healthy subjects group. The blood samples of leukemia patients and healthy subjects were collected from three key southern governorates namely, Basrah, Muthanna and Dhi-Qar. These governorates were the centers of intensive military activities during the 1991 and 2003 Gulf wars, and the discarded weapons are still lying around in these regions. CR-39 track detector was used for registration of induced fission tracks. The results show that the highest recorded uranium concentration in the blood samples of leukemia patients was 4.71 ppb (female, 45 years old, from Basrah) and the minimum concentration was 1.91 ppb (male, 3 years old, from Muthanna). For healthy group, the maximum uranium concentration was 2.15 ppb (female, 55 years old, from Basrah) and the minimum concentration was 0.86 ppb (male, 5 years old, from Dhi-Qar). It has been found that the uranium concentrations in human blood samples of leukemia patients are higher than those of the healthy group. These uranium concentrations in the leukemia patients group were significantly different (P < 0.001) from those in the healthy group.  相似文献

Considering the significance of non-Newtonian fluid usage in manufacturing such as molten plastics, polymeric materials, pulps, and so on, significant efforts have been made to investigate the phenomenon of non-Newtonian fluids. In this article the influences of heat and mass transfer on non-Newtonian Walter's B fluid flow over uppermost catalytic surface of a paraboloid is encountered. An elasticity of the fluid layer is considered in the freestream together with heat source/sink and has the tendency to cause heat flow in the fluid saturated domain. The flow problem of two-dimensional Walter's B fluid is represented using Law of conservation of mass, momentum, heat, and concentration along with thermal and solutal chemical reactive boundary conditions. The governing equations are non-linear partial differential equation and are non-dimensionalized by employing stream function and similarity transformation. The final dimensionless equations yielded are coupled non-linear ordinary differential equations. Furthermore, shooting technique along with RK-4th order method is used to get the numerical results. Graphs and tables are modeled by using MATLAB software to check the effects of Walter's B parameter, Chemical reaction parameter and Thickness parameter on temperature, velocity, and concentration profiles. Tabular analysis shows the results of some physical parameters like skin friction coefficient, Nusselt number and Sherwood number due to the variation of Walter's B parameter, thickness parameter and chemical reactive parameter.  相似文献

Precise determination of uranium concentration in human urine is quite important in assessment of occupational and public exposure to uranium. In the present work, a pulsed dye nitrogen laser-induced kinetic phosphorescence analysis (KPA) was used to determine uranium in urine of Iraqi phosphate mine and fertilizer plant workers and in the population living near the mining region. A total of 92 urine samples were collected from workers of the Akashat phosphate mine, the Al-Qaim fertilizer complex, and the Akashat residential region. Uranium concentration in urine of all samples ranged between 0.49 to 5.26 μg L?1 with a total average of 1.47 ± 0.01 μg L?1. For comparison, all samples were also analyzed using a completely different technique; the nuclear fission track analysis using CR-39 SSNTD. Both techniques were capable of such measurements, although not with an equal degree of uncertainty. KPA technique is found to be more suitable for analysis of urine samples having high concentrations of uranium.  相似文献

The sensitive and simple technique of fission track etch has been applied to determine trace concentration of uranium in blood samples for occupational and non-occupational workers, male and female, using CR-39 track detector that is employed for registration of induced fission tracks. The results show that the highest recorded uranium concentration in human blood of workers in the ministry of Science and Technology were 1.90 ppb (male, 36 years old, 12 years' work experience, and living in Basrah governorate) and minimum concentration 0.26 ppb (female, 40 years old, 10 years' work experience, and living in Baghdad), while for non-occupational worker, the maximum uranium concentration was 1.76 ppb (female, 63 years old, and living in Al-Muthana) and minimum concentration was 0.28 ppb (female, 20 years old, and living in Baghdad). It has also been found that the uranium concentration in human blood samples of workers in the ministry of Science and Technology are higher than those of non-occupational workers, and the uranium concentrations for female workers and for non-occupational workers were higher than those for male workers and non-occupational workers.  相似文献

We study the current-induced bottom baryon to charm baryon transitions in the Heavy Quark Symmetry limit asm q→∞. Our discussion involvess-wave tos-wave as well ass-wave top-wave transitions. Using a constituent quark model picture for the light diquark system with an underlyingSU(2N f)?O(3) symmetry and the heavy quark symmetry we arrive at a number of new predictions for the reduced form factors that describe these transitions.  相似文献

For a field F and a row-finite directed graph Γ, let L(Γ) be the associated Leavitt path algebra. We find necessary and sufficient conditions for the Lie algebra [L(Γ), L(Γ)] to be simple.  相似文献

The first iron catalysts able to promote the formal insertion of CO into the C?N bond of amines are reported. Using low‐valent iron complexes, including K2[Fe(CO)4], amides are formed from aromatic and aliphatic amines, in the presence of an iodoalkane promoter. Inorganic Lewis acids, such as AlCl3 and Nd(OTf)3, have a positive influence on the catalytic activity of the iron salts, enabling the carbonylation at a low pressure of CO (6 to 8 bars).  相似文献
