Die Millon'sche Reaktion des Harns und ihre Beeinflussung durch Zufuhr von Tyrosin

Zusammenfassung Es werden einige Versuche an Kaninchen und Menschen über die Millon'sche Reaktion des Harns mitgeteilt. Ihre Intensität steigt an, wenn Tyrosin zugeführt wird, und zwar erheblich mehr nach dl-Tyrosin als nach l-Tyrosin. Ein Teil der Millon-Substanzen ist in Äther löslich, der ebenfalls nach der razemisierten stärker zunimmt als der nach der natürlichen Aminosäure.     

UV photoelectron spectra of 5- and 6-azauracil

The He(I) photoelectron spectra of 5-azauracil (1,3,5-triazine-2,4(1H,3H)-dione) and 6-azauracil (1,2,4-triazine-3, 5(2H,4H)-dione) are presented. The spectra are assigned by using INDO/S calculations and comparison arguments with uracil. The first ionization energy in the title compounds is higher than in the usual nucleic acid bases.     

Volatiles,color characteristics and other physico–chemical parameters of commercial Moroccan honeys

Seven commercial Moroccan honeys were considered for chemical characterisation. Volatile fraction, total polyphenols content, antioxidant and antiradical activities were evaluated by employing different analytical methodologies. Several physical parameters such as refractive index, pH, water content, solids content and colour were measured. Volatile fraction revealed an abundant presence of cis- and trans-linalool oxide in the seven studied samples. The presence of high levels of compounds related to the Maillard reaction, like furfural and hydroxymethylfurfural, could be the result of thermal treatments used to liquefy commercial honeys or of long storage times. The CIE L^*a^*b^*C_ab^*h_ab° chromatic coordinates confirmed the advanced stage of the Maillard reaction, showing L^* values lower than the common values found for honey of similar typologies.

Organic contamination in clams,Venerupis aurea laeta and Cerastoderma edule glaucum,from Sicily (Italy)

Two species of edible clams Venerupis aurea laeta and Cerastoderma edule glaucum from Ganzirri Lake (Sicily, Italy) were investigated to determine OCP and PCB residues by GC-MS. Thirty-five samples were examined for two years in order to perform: a) their actual contamination; b) the daily dietary exposure of seafood consumers to the pollutants in question. In all the clams analysed in this study, PCB and OCP (4,4′-DDE) residues are always below the limits fixed by law. It seems that there is some seasonality of concentrations observed. In fact the more high concentrations of residues are detected in the hot months, for both species and years. Given the consumption of clams and the values obtained in this study for the two species analysed, it is possible estimate that the average daily dietary intake of NDL-PCB and of 4,4′-DDE for adults is really low.     

Nickel nanostructured materials from liquid phase photodeposition

Liquid Phase Photo-Deposition (LPPD) technique has been used to obtain both colloidal particles and thin films of metallic and chloride nickel from solutions of only precursor Ni(acac)₂ (acac=2,4-pentandionato). Metallic nickel was obtained from ethanol solutions by direct nickel(II) photoreduction at 254 nm and by acetone sensitised reaction at 300 nm. In this latter process the rate was higher than in the first one. NiCl₂ was formed from CCl₄ solution by a solvent-initiated reaction. TEM analysis, performed on colloidal particles of nickel, showed that their dimensions are in the range 2–4 nm. The films did not present carbon contamination and were characterized by AFM, XPS and GIXRD. Metallic films consisted of particles of 20–40 nm that are the result of the aggregation of smaller crystallites (4–5 nm). Larger agglomerations (around 200 nm) have been observed for NiCl₂ films.     

Considerations on the limits of integration field of de Saint Venant's equation for free surface flows

Summary The limits of integration of the free surface flow equation are investigated. For this purpose some terms, seldom used in ordinary practice, although they have been already deduced by other Authors, are introduced.The complete form of differential equation shows that conditions of elliptical behaviour may occur. These conditions, examined for a two-dimensional case, seem to coincide with known conditions of the existence of roll-waves

Sommario Allo scopo di ricercare i limiti del campo di integrazione dell'equazione differenziale del moto per le correnti a pelo libero si completa la forma classica tramite l'introduzione di alcuni termini, raramente utilizzati nella pratica, ma parzialmente già introdotti da altri Autori.Analizzando l'equazione differenziale ottenuta si rileva la possibilità di un comportamento ellittico. Il limite di passaggio a tale comportamento, in un moto bidimensionale, sembra coincidere con le condizioni per il realizzarsi del deflusso a roll-waves.
