Tris(o-hydroxyphenyl)phosphine oxide is introduced as a new colorimetric reagent for the determination of ferric iron in solutions 0.3–2.5M nitric acid. The only other cation known to interfere in the determination is the ceric ion (Ce+4). The colour of the complex is stable and is found to obey Beer's law over a wide concentration range. 相似文献

The preparation of a series of imidazolium salts bearing N‐allyl substituents, and a range of substituents on the second nitrogen atom that have varying electronic and steric properties, is reported. The ligands have been coordinated to a copper(I) centre and the resulting copper(I)–NHC (NHC=N‐heterocyclic carbene) complexes have been thoroughly examined, both in solution and in the solid‐state. The solid‐state structures are highly diverse and exhibit a range of unusual geometries and cuprophilic interactions. The first structurally characterised copper(I)–NHC complex containing a copper(I)–alkene interaction is reported. An N‐pyridyl substituent, which forms a dative bond with the copper(I) centre, stabilises an interaction between the metal centre and the allyl substituent of a neighbouring ligand, to form a 1D coordination polymer. The stabilisation is attributed to the pyridyl substituent increasing the electron density at the copper(I) centre, and thus enhancing the metal(d)‐to‐alkene(π*) back‐bonding. In addition, components other than charge transfer appear to have a role in copper(I)–alkene stabilisation because further increases in the Lewis basicity of the ligand disfavours copper(I)–alkene binding. 相似文献

Results from a solid-state 139La NMR spectroscopic investigation of the anhydrous lanthanum(III) halides (LaX3; X=F, Cl, Br, I) at applied magnetic fields of 7.0, 9.4, 11.7, 14.1, and 17.6 T are presented and highlight the advantages of working at high applied magnetic field strengths. The 139La quadrupolar coupling constants are found to range from 15.55 to 24.0 MHz for LaCl3 and LaI3, respectively. The lanthanum isotropic chemical shifts exhibit an inverse halogen dependence with values ranging from −135 ppm for LaF3 to 700 ppm for LaI3, which represents nearly half of the total lanthanum chemical shift range. The spans of the magnetic shielding tensors also vary widely, from 35 to 650 ppm for the solid LaF3 through LaI3. DFT calculations of the 139La electric field gradient and magnetic shielding tensors have been performed and provide a qualitative interpretation of the trends observed experimentally. 相似文献

The use of continuous-wave (CW) 1H decoupling has generally provided little improvement in the 13C MAS NMR spectroscopy of paramagnetic organic solids. Recent solid-state 13C NMR studies have demonstrated that at rapid magic-angle spinning rates CW decoupling can result in reductions in signal-to-noise and that 1H decoupling should be omitted when acquiring 13C MAS NMR spectra of paramagnetic solids. However, studies of the effectiveness of modern 1H decoupling sequences are lacking, and the performance of such sequences over a variety of experimental conditions must be investigated before 1H decoupling is discounted altogether. We have studied the performance of several commonly used advanced decoupling pulse sequences, namely the TPPM, SPINAL-64, XiX, and eDROOPY sequences, in 13C MAS NMR experiments performed under four combinations of the magnetic field strength (7.05 or 11.75T), rotor frequency (15 or 30kHz), and 1H rf-field strength (71, 100, or 140kHz). The effectiveness of these sequences has been evaluated by comparing the 13C signal intensity, linewidth at half-height, LWHH, and coherence lifetimes, T2('), of the methine carbon of copper(II) bis(dl-alanine) monohydrate, Cu(ala)(2).H2O, and methylene carbon of copper(II) bis(dl-2-aminobutyrate), Cu(ambut)(2), obtained with the advanced sequences to those obtained without 1H decoupling, with CW decoupling, and for fully deuterium labelled samples. The latter have been used as model compounds with perfect 1H decoupling and provide a measure of the efficiency of the 1H decoupling sequence. Overall, the effectiveness of 1H decoupling depends strongly on the decoupling sequence utilized, the experimental conditions and the sample studied. Of the decoupling sequences studied, the XiX sequence consistently yielded the best results, although any of the advanced decoupling sequences strongly outperformed the CW sequence and provided improvements over no 1H decoupling. Experiments performed at 7.05T demonstrate that the XiX decoupling sequence is the least sensitive to changes in the 1H transmitter frequency and may explain the superior performance of this decoupling sequence. Overall, the most important factor in the effectiveness of 1H decoupling was the carbon type studied, with the methylene carbon of Cu(ambut)(2) being substantially more sensitive to 1H decoupling than the methine carbon of Cu(ala)(2).H2O. An analysis of the various broadening mechanisms contributing to 13C linewidths has been performed in order to rationalize the different sensitivities of the two carbon sites under the four experimental conditions. 相似文献

Reaction of two equivalents of n-BuLi with sterically demanding amine-bis(phenol) compounds, H(2)O(2)NN'(R) (Me(2)NCH(2)CH(2)N{CH(2)-3,5-R(2)-C(6)H(2)OH}(2); R = t-Bu or t-Pe (tert-pentyl)) yields isolable lithium complexes, Li(2)(O(2)NN'(R)), in good yields. Upon reaction with one equivalent of LnCl(3)(THF)(x), the lithium salts afford rare earth amine-phenolate chloride complexes in good yields, Ln(O(2)NN'(R))Cl(THF); Ln = Y, Yb, Ho, Gd, Sm, Pr. Crystals of Y(O(2)NN'(t-Bu))Cl(THF), 1, and Sm(O(2)NN'(t-Bu))Cl(DME), 2, suitable for single crystal X-ray crystallographic analysis were obtained. In contrast to previously reported [{Gd(O(2)NN'(t-Pe))(THF)(micro-Cl)}(2)] and related La and Sm complexes, these species are monomeric. 1 contains Y in a distorted octahedral environment bonded to two amine, two phenolate, one THF and one chloride donor. 2 contains Sm in a distorted capped trigonal prismatic environment bonded to two amine, two phenolate, two DME oxygens and one chloride donor. The Ln(O(2)NN'(t-Pe))Cl(THF) complexes were active initators for the controlled ring-opening polymerization of epsilon-caprolactone with a tendency to form low molecular weight cyclic polyesters (M(n) 3000-5000). The conversion rates, although slower than related amido and alkyl species, were different for monomeric and dimeric initiators. The size of the metal centre also affected the conversions and the molecular weights achieved. 相似文献

The synthesis of a series of ruthenium(II) based anion sensors of the type [Ru(eta(6)-C(6)H(4)MeCHMe(2))Cl(L)(2)][BF(4)] (2) is reported in which ligand L represents a series of substituted pyridinylmethyl-amine derivatives. The carbazole based ligand L(3) exhibits a fluorescent intraligand charge-transfer (ILCT) state that is quenched by ligand-to-metal charge transfer (LMCT) upon coordination to ruthenium in the 1:1 complex [Ru(eta(6)-C(6)H(4)MeCHMe(2))Cl(2)(L(3))] (1 c). The 1:2 complex 2 c is fluorescent, however, and acts as a fluorescent anion sensor because of the mixing of an anion-dependent charge-transfer component into the excited state. The 1:2 complexes of type 2 all exhibit interesting low symmetry (1)H NMR spectra that also are a useful handle on anion complexation. The electronic structures of L(3), 1 c and 2 c have been probed by time-dependent DFT calculations. 相似文献
