Homogeneously prepared tosylcelluloses (TC) with degrees of substitution (DS) of DSTos 0.1–1.8 were used as intermediates for the synthesis of methylaminocelluloses (MAC) by nucleophilic substitution with methylamine. TC with DSTos up to 1.1 were shown to be valuable intermediates for selective synthesis of MAC with DSMA varying from 0.1 to approximately 1. No nucleophilic substitution was observed at higher DSTos. At the chosen reaction conditions (60 °C, 48 h) residual tosyl moieties remained unchanged and little hydrolysis took place. The samples obtained were characterized by means of elemental analysis, FTIR and 13C CP/MAS NMR spectroscopy. 13C CP/MAS NMR spectroscopy was found to be an efficient tool for quantification of DSMA. Furthermore, the swelling behaviour in water was investigated and preliminary tests concerning the bilirubin adsorption capacity of MAC were carried out.  相似文献

In the following report we describe a method for calculating the envelope of a particle bunch in linear coupled storage rings and transport systems in the presence of transverse and longitudinal space charge forces using the (canonical) variablesx, p x ,z, p z , σ=s?v 0·t,p σE/E 0 of the fully six-dimensional formalism. This work is an extension of earlier calculations on transverse space charge forces [1] to include the synchrotron oscillations. The extension is achieved by defining a 6-dimensional ellipsoid in thex?p x ?z?p z ?σ?p σ space. The motion of this ellipsoid under the influence of the external fields and the instantaneous space charge forces can be described by six generating orbit vectors which can be combined into a 6-dimensional matrixB(s). This “bunch-shape matrix”,B(s), contains complete information about the configuration of the bunch. The solution of the equations of motion is carried through in the thin lens approximation. The formalism can also encompass acceleration by cavity fields.  相似文献

One of the limiting factors restricting the effective and efficient bioconversion of softwood-derived lignocellulosic residues is the recalcitrance of the substrate following pretreatment. Consequently, the ensuing enzymatic process requires relatively high enzyme loadings to produce monomeric carbohydrates that are readily fermentable by ethanologenic microorganisms. In an attempt to circumvent the need for larger enzyme loadings, a simultaneous physical and enzymatic hydrolysis treatment was evaluated. A ball-mill reactor was used as the digestion vessel, and the extent and rate of hydrolysis were monitored. Concurrently, enzyme adsorption profiles and the rate of conversion during the course of hydrolysis were monitored. α-Cellulose, employed as a model substrate, and SO2-impregnated steam-exploded Douglas-fir wood chips were assessed as the cellulosic substrates. The softwood-derived substrate was further posttreated with water and hot alkaline hydrogen peroxide to remove >90% of the original lignin. Experiments at different reaction conditions were evaluated, including substrate concentration, enzyme loading, reaction volumes, and number of ball beads employed during mechanical milling. It was apparent that the best conditions for the enzymatic hydrolysis of α-cellulose were attained using a higher number of beads, while the presence of air-liquid interface did not seem to affect the rate of saccharification. Similarly, when employing the lignocellulosic substrate, up to 100% hydrolysis could be achieved with a minimum enzyme loading (10 filter paper units/g of cellulose), at lower substrate concentrations and with a greater number of reaction beads during milling. It was apparent that the combined strategy of simultaneous ball milling and enzymatic hydrolysis could improve the rate of saccharification and/or reduce the enzyme loading required to attain total hydrolysis of the carbohydrate moieties.  相似文献

Ylidenemalononitriles are useful reagents, reactive as Michael acceptors2, and in the synthesis of indenones and indanones3, aminonaphthalenes4, and lactones5. Syntheses of these reagents usually involves a typical Knoevenagel reaction between a carbonyl compound and malononitrile, catalyzed by base6. Yields in this condensation vary widely, and are especially poor with hindered ketones and diaryl ketones. For example, Schenck and Finken7 allowed equivalent amounts of benzophenone and malononitrile to react in alcohol for four days, with ammonia as catalyst, and obtained a 13% yield of the corresponding ylidenemalononitrile. Later this was increased by removing water from a refluxing benzene solution of the reactants for 48 hrs3. Although a 68% yield was reported, it was based on unrecovered ketone, and the actual yield was less than 40%. Charles8 has reported the synthesis of the same substance by condensing the  相似文献

Spectral dispersions of index of refraction \({n(\lambda )}\) and extinction coefficient \({\kappa (\lambda )}\) of undoped amorphous selenium (a-Se) films of three thicknesses (d?≈?0.5, 0.75, and 1.0 µm) were evaluated by analyzing experimental room-temperature normal-incidence transmittance-wavelength (\({{T_{{\text{exp}}}}(\lambda )} - \lambda\)) data (λ =?400–1100 µm) of their air-supported {a-Se film/thick glass slide}-stacks using Swanepoel’s transmission envelope theory of uniform films. Above a wavelength \({{\lambda _c}\,\, \approx \,\,640\;{\text{nm}}}\), as-measured \({{T_{{\text{exp}}}}(\lambda )}\,\, - \,\lambda\) spectra display well-resolved maxima and minima, with minor shrinkage in transparent and weak absorption regions (750–1100 nm). Below \({\lambda _{\text{c}}}\), a smeared sharp decline of \({{T_{{\text{exp}}}}(\lambda )}\) with decreasing λ, signifying strong absorption in a-Se films and existence of band-tail localized states. For λ > λ c, the \({n\,(\lambda )}\, - \,\lambda\) data retrieved from algebraic envelope procedures followed a Sellmeier-like dispersion relation, with the best-fit values of high-frequency dielectric constant \({{\varepsilon _\infty }\, \approx \,\,{\text{4.9}}}\), static index of refraction \({{n_{\text{0}}} = n\left( {E\, \to \,{\text{0}}} \right)\,\, \approx \,\,{\text{2.43}}}\), and resonance wavelength \({{\lambda _0}\, \approx \,490\,\,{\text{nm}}}\), which may be assigned to onset of photogeneration in a-Se. Urbach-like dependency of absorption coefficient \({\alpha (h{{\nu }})}\) of a-Se films on photon energy \({h{{\nu }}}\) was realized with an Urbach-tail breadth of 85 meV. All achieved optical parameters were found to be slightly dependent on film thickness. Findings of present algebraic analysis are consistent with reported literature results obtained on the basis of other optical analytical approaches.  相似文献

Short-chain chlorinated paraffins (SCCPs) comprise a class of organic pollutants used in many industrial applications and released into the environment. The analytical determination of SCCPs is very challenging. Although there is at present no fully validated measurement procedure that might be applied in routine monitoring, the European Union Water Framework Directive (WFD) has required regular monitoring of this class of compounds at river-basin scale since 2007.To assess the status quo of the analysis of SCCPs in relation to the requirements of the WFD, we organized an interlaboratory comparison on the quantification of SCCPs in an extract of an industrial soil. Six laboratories participated in the exercise using three different techniques [i.e. gas chromatography (GC) coupled to mass spectrometry (MS) in electron-capture negative ionization mode, GC with atomic emission detection, and carbon-skeleton GC-MS]. The results reported were in the range 8.5–3200 mg/L. This confirms that reliable quantification of SCCPs is still very difficult to achieve and that the comparability of SCCP data reported to the European Commission is at least questionable.  相似文献

The success of nucleic acid delivery requires the development of safe and efficient delivery vectors that overcome cellular barriers for effective transport. Herein we describe the synthesis of a series of novel, single-chain rigid cationic carotenoid lipids and a study of their preliminary in vitro siRNA delivery effectiveness and cellular toxicity. The efficiency of siRNA delivery by the single-chain lipid series was compared with that of known cationic lipid vectors, 3β-[N-(N',N'-dimethylaminoethane)carbamoyl]-cholesterol (DC-Chol) and 1,2-dimyristoyl-sn-glyceryl-3-phosphoethanolamine (EPC) as positive controls. All cationic lipids (controls and single-chain lipids) were co-formulated into liposomes with the neutral co-lipid, 1,2-dioleolyl-sn-glycerol-3-phosphoethanolamine (DOPE). Cationic lipid-siRNA complexes of varying (+/-) molar charge ratios were formulated for delivery into HR5-CL11 cells. Of the five single-chain carotenoid lipids investigated, lipids 1, 2, 3 and 5 displayed significant knockdown efficiency with HR5-CL11 cells. In addition, lipid 1 exhibited the lowest levels of cytotoxicity with cell viability greater than 80% at all (+/-) molar charge ratios studied. This novel, single-chain rigid carotenoid-based cationic lipid represents a new class of transfection vector with excellent cell tolerance, accompanied with encouraging siRNA delivery efficiency.  相似文献

Throughout the centuries, traditional Chinese medicine has been a rich resource in the development of new drugs. Modern drug discovery, which relies increasingly on automated high throughput screening and quick hit-to-lead development, however, is confronted with the challenges of the chemical complexity associated with natural products. New technologies for biological screening as well as library building are in great demand in order to meet the requirements. Here we review the developments in these techniques under the perspective of their applicability in natural product drug discovery. Methods in library building, component characterizing, biological evaluation, and other screening methods including NMR and X-ray diffraction are discussed.  相似文献
