A VC doped WC-Co alloy is investigated using high resolution transmission electron microscopy. The VC grain growth inhibitor induces the presence of a thin layer on the surfaces of the WC grains in contact with Co and precipitates in the corners of Co pockets. These (VW)Cx compounds adopt an epitaxial orientation relationship with regards to the (0001) base facets of the WC crystals. Due to the small difference in lattice parameters, misfit dislocations are expected in the interfaces. Unlike the thin layers where no defects are observed, two kinds of dislocations are pointed out for larger precipitates. 1/6〈112〉VC interfacial dislocations are sometimes present while more often 1/2〈1¯10〉VC dislocations lying above the interface in the (VW)Cx phase are visible.  相似文献

A series of stable Cr(V) model complexes that mimic the binding of Cr(V) to peptide backbones at the C-terminus of proteins have been prepared for N,N-dimethylurea derivatives of the tripeptides Aib3-DMF, AibLAlaAib-DMF, and AibDAlaAib-DMF (Aib = 2-amino-2-methylpropanoic acid, DMF = N,N-dimethylformamide). The Cr(ll) precursor complexes were synthesized by the initial deprotonation of the amide and acid groups of the peptide ligands in DMF with potassium tert-butoxide in the presence of CrCl2. The Cr(II) intermediates thus formed were then immediately oxidized to Cr(V) using tert-butyl hydroperoxide. Spectroscopic and mass-spectrometric analyses of the Cr(V) complexes showed that a new metal-directed organic transformation of the ligand had occurred. This involved a DMF solvent molecule becoming covalently bound to the amine group of the peptide ligand, yielding a urea group, and a third coordinated deprotonated urea nitrogen donor. A metal-directed oxidative coupling has been proposed as a possible mechanism for the organic transformation. The Cr(V/IV) reduction potential was determined for the three Cr(V) complexes using cyclic voltammetry, and in all cases it was quasi-reversible. These are the first isolated and fully characterized Cr(V) complexes with non-sulfur-containing peptide ligands.  相似文献

Chromium(VI) complexes of the most abundant biological reductant, glutathione (gamma-Glu-Cys-Gly, I), are among the likely initial reactive intermediates formed during the cellular metabolism of carcinogenic and genotoxic Cr(VI). Detailed structural characterization of such complexes in solutions has been performed by a combination of X-ray absorption fine structure (XAFS) and X-ray absorption near-edge structure (XANES) spectroscopies, electrospray mass spectrometry (ESMS), UV-vis spectroscopy, and kinetic studies. The Cr(VI) complexes of two model thiols, N-acetyl-2-mercaptoethylamine (II) and 4-bromobenzenethiol (III), were used for comparison. The Cr(VI)-thiolato complexes were generated quantitatively in weakly acidic aqueous solutions (for I and II) or in DMF solutions (for II) or isolated as a pure solid (for III). Contrary to some claims in the literature, no evidence was found for the formation of relatively stable Cr(IV) intermediates during the reactions of Cr(VI) with I in acidic aqueous solutions. The Cr(VI) complexes of I-III exist as tetrahedral [CrO(3)(SR)](-) (IVa) species in the solid state, in solutions of aprotic solvents such as DMF, or in the gas phase (under ESMS conditions). In aqueous or alcohol solutions, reversible addition of a solvent molecule occurs, with the formation of five-coordinate species, [CrO(3)(SR)L](-) (IVb, probably of a trigonal bipyramidal structure, L = H(2)O or MeOH), with a Cr-L bond length of 1.97(1) A (determined by XAFS data modeling). Complex IVb (L = H(2)O) is also formed (in an equilibrium mixture with [CrO(4)](2)(-)) at the first stage of reduction of Cr(VI) by I in neutral aqueous solutions (as shown by global kinetic analysis of time-dependent UV-vis spectra). This is the first observation of a reversible ligand addition reaction in Cr(VI) complexes. The formation of IVb (rather than IVa, as thought before) during the reactions of Cr(VI) with I in aqueous solutions is likely to be important for the reactivity of Cr(VI) in cellular media, including DNA and protein damage and inhibition of protein tyrosine phosphatases.  相似文献

An analytical strategy using fast atom bombardment (FAB) ionization and tandem mass spectrometry has been developed to determine the molecular weight and major fragment ions, and to provide limited structural characterization of low picomole levels of carcinogen-nucleoside adducts. This strategy consists of three main components: (1) the sensitivity for analysis by FAB combined with mass spectrometry is increased via chemical derivatization; (2) the nucleoside adducts are selectively detected by using constant neutral loss scans; and (3) structurally characteristic fragments are obtained by using daughter ion scans. Trimethylsilyl derivatized arylamine-nucleoside adducts have been detected at levels as low as a few picomoles by using this approach. After experimental determination of the mass of the BH 2 + fragment ion, daughter ion spectra have been used to probe the structure specificity associated with collision-activated decomposition of this fragment. With model C-8 substituted arylamine adducts [N-(deoxyguanosin-8-yl)-4-aminobiphenyl, N-(deoxyadenosin--yl)-4-aminobiphenyl, and N-(deoxyguanosin-8-yl)-2-aminofluorene], nucleoside-specific and carcinogen-specific fragmentation have been observed in daughter ion spectra.  相似文献

A theoretical and experimental study was conducted to accurately determine the amount of adsorption and desorption of methane by various Granular Activated Carbon(GAC)under different physical conditions.To carry out the experiments,the volumetric method was used up to 500 psia at constant temperature of 25℃.In these experiments,adsorption as well as desorption capacities of four different GAC in the adsorption of methane,the major constituent of natural gas,at various equilibrium pressures and a constant temperature were studied.Also,various adsorption isotherm models were used to model the experimental data collected from the experiments.The accuracy of the results obtained from the adsorption isotherm models was compared and the values for the regressed parameters were reported.The results shows that the physical characteristics of activated carbons such as BET surface area,micropore volume,packing density,and pore size distribution play an important role in the amount of methane to be adsorbed and desorbed.  相似文献

Adsorption and desorption of methane by activated carbon (AC) at constant temperature and at various pressures were investigated. The effect of moisture was also studied. A volumetric method was used, up to 40 bar, at a temperature of 273.5 K. Results of a dry AC sample were compared with those obtained from a moist sample and two different ACs with different physical and surface properties were used. As expected, the results showed that the existence of moisture, trapped in the AC pores, could lead to a decrease in the amount of methane adsorbed and a decrease in the amount of methane delivered during desorption. To model the experimental results, a large variety of adsorption isotherms were used. The regressed parameters for the adsorption isotherms were obtained using the experimental data generated in the present study. The accuracy of the results obtained from the different adsorption isotherms was favorably compared.  相似文献

Mesoporous CeO2 and yttrium doped CeO2 (YDC) were prepared by a sol–gel process and characterized by a variety of techniques. XRD patterns showed that the undoped and doped samples had a cubic fluorite structure. The grain size decreased from 24.8 to 6.1 nm at 500 °C for pure CeO2 and YDC, respectively. N2 adsorption–desorption isotherms showed that the samples possessed typical mesopore characteristics. The BET specific surface area of the samples increased from 23.04 to 151.49 m2/g for 300 °C calcination after mesoporous CeO2 was doped with Y. It is found that the introduction of Y can inhibit the grain growth, and the presence of the pores also can be related to this obstacle to grain growth. These results are of great significance for the control of porous microstructure, crystallinity, and applications for the development of nanostructured mesoporous materials.  相似文献

We review our recent discovery of silicene in the form of silicon nano-ribbons epitaxially grown on silver (1 1 0) or (1 0 0) surfaces, which paves the way for the growth of graphene-like sheets. We further draw some perspectives for this unique novel material upon mild hydrogenation.  相似文献
