The ion exchange and sorption properties of crystalline Tin bis(monohydrogen orthophosphate) monohydrate of composition Sn(HPO(4))(2).H(2)O were studied in an aqueous solution of KCl over the temperature range 300-320 K, varying the pH and metal ion concentration in the solution. The data were explained on the basis of the law of chemical equilibrium. The metal ion sorption data were fitted to the Langmuir adsorption equation to evaluate the Langmuir parameters. The extent of adsorption was found to increase with an increase in temperature and metal ion concentration in the selectivity order Cu(2+)>Co(2+)>Ni(2+). The Langmuir parameters were used to calculate the thermodynamic functions like standard entropy, enthalpy, and free energy changes during the process of sorption. The effects of CuO loading, reaction temperature, and surface gas velocity (Ug) on the photocatalytic reduction of NO have been determined in an annular flow type and a modified two-dimensional fluidized bed photoreactor. The optimum CuO loading was found to be 3.3 wt.% and NO degradation conversion in the modified two-dimensional fluidized bed photoreactor is more than 70% at 2.5 Umf.  相似文献

The hepatitis B surface antigen manufactured by recombinant DNA technology is extracted from the culture media by density gradient centrifugation using cesium salts. Cesium is considered to be toxic, because it affects active ion transport by blocking potassium channels. The residual trace levels of cesium in hepatitis B vaccine samples are determined by suppressed ion chromatography. Hepatitis B vaccines contain various buffer salts, aluminum-containing adjuvants, proteins and traces of iron. The polyvalent cations (Al3+, Fe3+) and proteins degrade the chromatographic performance in terms of decreased retention time and poor reproducibility. Different sample preparation approaches were evaluated with the aim of eliminating these foulants: (1) filtration, (2) digestion and (3) digestion-protein precipitation. Quantitative elimination of these foulants was achieved in the digestion-protein precipitation sample clean-up approach. Cesium was separated on the IonPac CS17 column with suppressed conductivity detection. The results of the ion chromatography (IC) method were compared with ICP-MS analysis. The precision of determination was better than 6.5% (relative standard deviation) with a method detection limit of 45 ng mL−1. The expanded uncertainty in the measurement at 95% confidence level (coverage factor 2) is better than 16.3%.

A new copper modified amine functionalized zirconia has been synthesized by a co-condensation method using zirconium butoxide and aminopropyltriethoxy-silane (APTES) in the presence of a cationic surfactant CTAB followed by impregnation of copper. Nitrogen adsorption-desorption, X-ray powder diffraction, Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), (13)C nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), scanning electron micrography (SEM), transmittance electron micrography (TEM), thermo gravimetric analysis-differential thermal analysis (TGA-DTA), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and UV-vis DRS spectroscopic tools are used to characterize the materials. FT-IR and DRS results indicated the incorporation of Cu and amino groups on the surface of zirconia. This Cu-anchored mesoporous material acts as an efficient, reusable catalyst in the aryl-sulfur coupling reaction between aryl iodide and thiophenol for the synthesis of value added diarylsulfides.  相似文献

Photocatalytic (PC) and photoelectrochemical (PEC) water splitting is a plethora of green technological process, which transforms copiously available photon energy into valuable chemical energy. With the augmentation of modern civilization, developmental process of novel semiconductor photocatalysts proceeded at a sweltering rate, but the overall energy conversion efficiency of semiconductor photocatalysts in PC/PEC is moderately poor owing to the instability ariseing from the photocorrosion and messy charge configuration. Particularly, layered double hydroxides (LDHs) as reassuring multifunctional photocatalysts, turned out to be intensively investigated owing to the lamellar structure and exceptional physico-chemical properties. However, major drawbacks of LDHs material are its low conductivity, sluggish mass transfer and structural instability in acidic media, which hinder their applicability and stability. To surmount these obstacles, the formation of LDH@graphene and analogus heterostructures could proficiently amalgamate multi-functionalities, compensate distinct shortcomings, and endow novel properties, which ensure effective charge separation to result in stability and superior catalytic activities. Herein, we aim to summarize the currently updated synthetic strategies used to design heterostructures of 2D LDHs with 2D/3D graphene and graphene analogus material as graphitic carbon nitride (g-C3N4), and MoS2 as mediator, or interlayer support, or co-catalyst or vice versa for superior PC/PEC water splitting activities along with long-term stabilities. Furthermore, latest characterization technique measuring the stability along with variant interface mode for imparting charge separation in LDH@graphene and graphene analogus heterostructure has been identified in this field of research with understanding the intrinsic structural features and activities.  相似文献

A Zn/Al hydrotalcite-like compound (HTlc) was prepared by co-precipitation (at constant pH) method and was characterized by XRD, TG/DTA, FTIR, and BET surface area. The ability of Zn/Al oxide to remove F- from aqueous solution was investigated. All the adsorption experiments were carried out as a function of time, pH, concentration of adsorbate, adsorbent dose, temperature etc. It was found that the maximum adsorption takes place within 4 h at pH 6.0. The percentage of adsorption increases with increase in the adsorbent dose, but decreases with increase in the adsorbate concentration. From the temperature variation it was found that the percentage of adsorption decreases with increase in temperature, which shows that the adsorption process is exothermic in nature. The adsorption data fitted well into the linearly transformed Langmuir equation. Sulfate and phosphate were found to have profound effects on fluoride removal. Thermodynamic parameters such as DeltaG0, DeltaH0, and DeltaS0 were calculated. The negative value of DeltaH0 indicates that the adsorption process is exothermic. The apparent equilibrium constants (Ka) are also calculated and found to decrease with increase in temperature. With 0.01 M NaOH the adsorbed F- could be completely desorbed from Zn/Al oxide in 6 h.  相似文献

A series of novel photocatalysts Zn/Cr LDH with different Zn/Cr molar ratios (2?:?1, 3?:?1, 4?:?1 and 2?:?1-CO(3)) were fabricated by a co-precipitation method and evaluated for photodecomposition of water using visible light irradiation. Various characterization methods were employed to investigate the structures, morphologies and photocatalytic properties. In comparison to Zn/Cr (2?:?1) LDH, Zn/Cr-CO(3) (2?:?1) LDH extends the absorption edges to the visible region and exhibits good photocatalytic activity, even without the assistance of co-catalysts. The visible light photocatalytic activity is ascribed to the charge transfer spectra of octahedral Cr ions in LDH. Zn/Cr-CO(3) LDH shows enhanced photocatalytic activities compared to Zn/Cr LDH as carbonate ions oxidise by holes to form carbonate radicals, inhibit the rapid recombination of e(-) and h(+) charge carriers and thereby suppress the backward reaction to some extent. This work provides a detailed understanding of the semiconductor properties of LDHs for photocatalytical hydrogen evolution.  相似文献

A series of ecofriendly solid acid catalyst was synthesized by phosphomolybdic acid impregnated on hydrous zirconia (ZPMA) by an incipient wetness impregnation technique. The support and the resulting catalysts were characterized by X-ray diffraction, FTIR, EPMA, BET surface area, acid sites, etc. These studies indicate that the phosphomolybdic acid keeps its Keggin-type structure unaltered up to 500 degrees C. Catalytic activities of the material were evaluated for the esterification of acetic acid reaction. The 12 wt% of phosphomolybdic acid supported on hydrous zirconia shows highest surface area, acid sites and gives about 86% conversion with 100% selectivity of n-butyl acetate.  相似文献

A simple, inexpensive dual vessel evaporating system has been developed to avoid contamination that may arise from the laboratory environment. A 200-fold preconcentration was achieved by the evaporation of 100 mL Milli-Q water on a water bath for 6 h and subsequent analysis was carried out by ion chromatography (IC). The detection limits achieved were 1, 2 and 11 ng L?1 for fluoride, chloride, and nitrate, respectively. Accuracy, based on spiked recovery data, was 93–103% and precision, in terms of relative standard deviation on five replicates, ranged from 4 to 7%.  相似文献
