The laser-induced damage (LID) behavior of narrow-band interference filters was investigated with a Nd:YAG laser at 1064 nm under single-pulse mode and free-running mode. The absorption measurement of such coatings was performed with surface thermal lensing (STL) technique. The damage morphologies under the two different laser modes were also studied in detail. It was found that all the filters exhibited a pass-band-center-dependent absorption and laser-induced damage threshold (LIDT) behavior, but the damage morphologies were diverse. The explanation was given with the analysis of the electric field distribution and the operational behavior of the irradiation laser.  相似文献

 Phenomena accompanying electrochemical doping of solid fullerene films with potassium were studied by sputter ion depth profiling (XPS and SIMS). The potassium distribution was determined, and artifacts associated with possible damage of the layer composition caused by ion impact were investigated and discussed. To compare the charge transfer while reductive doping is taking place at fullerene/solution interface with doping from gas phase, model layers were prepared and doped by potassium under UHV conditions. It was found that sputtering by Ar+ primary ions yields both accurate information on the alkaline metal distribution and on its concentration. Sputtering by O+ ions led to an enrichment of potassium, apparently due to the reactivity of oxygen with the fullerene matrix. It is shown that the reductive doping starts at the fullerene/solution interface. The concentration of potassium in the doped films was found to be lower than expected from the charge transferred during the electrochemical reduction. Time- and frequency-resolved pump-probe measurements on NeBr2 have been performed to better characterize its fragmentation dynamics on the B electronic state for vibrational levels in the energy region of the transition from direct vibrational predissociation to intramolecular vibrational relaxation dynamics. Above nu'=20 of the Br2 stretching mode, it was observed that the dependence of lifetime on the vibrational quantum number deviates from the energy-gap law by leveling off in the range of 10 psE transitions of the complex. These transitions are shifted 20 cm(-1) to lower energy from the free Br2 resonances, indicating an E state Ne-Br2 bond energy of 82 cm(-1). Measurements of NeBr2 vibrational predissociation via the delta nu=-2 channel were also performed for nu'=27, 28, and 29. The closing of the delta nu=-1 channel leads to an increase in the lifetimes of these vibrational levels. A new Nd:yttrium aluminum garnet pumped dual optical parametric oscillator/optical parametric amplifier system is described that allows us to conveniently record time-delayed pump-probe spectra with 2-cm(-1) spectral resolution and 15-ps time resolution.  相似文献

Soluble polymer bound reagent 1 has been prepared to cleave tertiary amines from REM resin. Normally, amines cleaved from REM resin require extraction or chromatography to remove excess cleavage reagent and its byproducts. The solubility profile of non-crosslinked polystyrene (NCPS) based reagent 1 eliminates the need for such purification and allows for the direct isolation of a library of pure tertiary amines through simple filtration and concentration operations.  相似文献

The potential energy surface of He2Ne+ has been reinvestigated using a combination of ab initio and diatomics-in-molecule (DIM) calculations. In contrast to the reports of two recent studies the ion is found to have an asymmetric linear He-Ne-He structure, with no barrier to formation from the separated atoms on the ground-state surface. The He-Ne+ bond lengths at the potential minimum are 1.51 and 1.81 A, and the total bonding energy is 0.717 eV. Comparing the He2Ne+ energy to that of HeNe+, the bonding energy for the second helium atom is 0.06 eV, about 10% of that of the first He atom. The saddle point between the two equivalent minima is a symmetric structure, 0.0074 eV above the potential minimum. A symmetric geometry becomes the overall potential minimum if the 2s hole on the Ne is excluded from the reference states of a multireference configuration interaction calculation. A DIM potential was created for the HenNe+ family of ions. The DIM potential is consistent with the asymmetric He2Ne+ ion serving as a core; it predicts a slightly more asymmetric geometry than the ab initio results. Additional helium atoms form five-membered rings around the bonds of the core ion to fill the first shell and then add to the ends of the cluster. The asymmetric core ion and the highly compact structure help to account for the lack of apparent shell structure in the mass spectrometry of HenNe+ clusters. Finally, we recommend that the value De=0.63+/-0.04 eV be adopted for the ground state of HeNe+.  相似文献

We report infrared photodissociation spectra for Ne, Ar, Kr, N2 and CH4 clusters which contain CH3F chromophores. The CH3Fv 3 mode is excited with a line tunable CO2 laser. Mass spectrometer detection of changes in the cluster beam intensity serve to partially distinguish the spectra of different size neutral clusters. Many spectra consist of rather broad, inhomogeneous profiles. For intermediate size ArnCH3F clusters a sharp, narrow peak is observed in the spectrum. We assign this peak as due to a cluster in which a central CH3F molecule is surrounded by at least a full shell of Ar atoms packed in a contracted icosohedral geometry. Because the Ar atoms in a gas phase cluster are unconstrained by an extended crystalline structure, the CH3F dipole is more fully stabilized (and thus red-shifted) than in a solid matrix. The dependence of the observed spectrum on cluster size is discussed. For comparison, no comparable narrow spectral features are observed in ArnC2H4 cluster spectra. Clear evidence is also presented that the fragmentation of the neutral clusters upon electron impact ionization is fairly specific. Finally, we note that ionization of ArnCH3F clusters sometimes produces ArnF+ ions. This is a fragmentation process which does not occur in free CH3F.  相似文献

Polymers such as poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) have proven use in a variety of applications including organic synthesis. We now disclose our investigations into the recently disputed report that PEG tartrate esters can reverse the enantioselectivity of the Sharpless asymmetric epoxidation reaction. The results presented herein have clarified that the enantioselectivity of this reaction can be reproducibly reversed solely as a function of the molecular weight of the appended PEG. By preparing a range of tartrate ligands with varying PEG chains lengths, the reversal was found to occur within a molecular weight change of only 800. As the PEG chain did not affect the inherent chirality of the ligand, the enantioreversal was proposed to occur as a result of two Ti-ligand complexes which differ in their molecularity of ligand, one monomeric in ligand and the other dimeric. Support for this hypothesis was given through equilibrium measurements which revealed that the predominant species in Ti/PEG tartrate ester mixtures is a distinct 2:1 Ti-ligand complex, as opposed to the 2:2 Ti-ligand complex of traditional Sharpless asymmetric epoxidations. In total, these data represent an unrecognized property of PEG-supported catalysts that could open up new venues in the control of asymmetric reactions by means of achiral appended polymers.  相似文献

Overexpression of the cell-surface glycosphingolipid G(M3) is associated with a number of different cancers, including those of the skin, colon, breast, and lung. Antibodies against the G(M3) epitope have potential application as therapeutic agents in the treatment of these cancers. We describe the chemoenzymatic synthesis of two G(M3)-derived reagents and their use in the panning of a phage-displayed human single-chain Fv (scFv) antibody library derived from the blood of cancer patients. Three scFv-phage clones, GM3A6, GM3A8, and GM3A15, were selected for recombinant expression and were characterized using BIAcore and flow cytometry. BIAcore measurements using the purified, soluble scFvs yielded dissociation constants (K(d)) ranging from 4.2 x 10(-7) to 2.1 x 10(-5) M. Flow cytometry was used to evaluate the ability of each scFv to discriminate between normal human cells (human dermal fibroblast, HDFa), melanoma cells (HMV-1, M21, and C-8161), and breast cancer cells (BCM-1, BCM-2, and BMS). GM3A6 displayed cross-reactivity with normal cells, as well as tumor cells, and GM3A15 possessed little or no binding activity toward any of the cell lines tested. However, GM3A8 bound to five of the six tumor cell lines and showed no measurable reactivity against the HDFa cells. Hence, we have demonstrated that a synthetic G(M3) panning reagent can be used to isolate a fully human scFv that is highly specific for native G(M3) on the surface of tumor cells. The result is a significant step toward effective immunotherapies for the treatment of cancer.  相似文献

The relationship between observed swelling of two cross-linked polystyrene resins and the microenvironment within polymer matrixes has been examined. Polystyrene cross-linked with either divinyl benzene (Merrifield resin) or 1,4-bis(4-vinylphenoxy)butane (JandaJel) was investigated with fluorescence and electron-paramagnetic resonance spectroscopy. Fluorescence spectroscopy revealed a superior correlation between observed swelling and solvation effects using a dansyl probe with JandaJel than with Merrifield resin. However, the internal viscosity of pre-swollen JandaJel is higher than Merrifield resin, as determined by EPR measurements. The combination of these two analytical methods provides insights into the physical differences observed between these two chemically similar resins and suggests caution should be used if using singular physical techniques to probe the microenvironment of polymeric matrixes.  相似文献
