Energy transfer between vibrational, rotational, and translational degrees of freedom of a molecule during a collision process is enhanced when the classical frequencies associated with the initial state are in the proximity of nonlinear resonance conditions. We present an analysis of the classical resonant effects in the collisions of light diatoms with periodic surfaces, and discuss the initial conditions in which these effects can be observed. In particular, we find that for grazing incidence and resonant initial values of the classical frequencies, corresponding to specific vibro-rotational molecular states and translational energies, an efficient energy transfer between the intramolecular vibro-rotational degrees of freedom and the translational degree of freedom along a symmetry direction on the surface can be found. This efficient energy transfer manifests itself in the emergence of specific peaks in the molecular diffraction patterns. The predictions of the resonance analysis are contrasted with the results of classical trajectory calculations obtained in a diatom-rigid surface collision model.  相似文献

Quantum computation is based on implementing selected unitary transformations representing algorithms. A generalized optimal control theory is used to find the driving field that generates a prespecified unitary transformation. The approach is independent of the physical implementation of the quantum computer and it is illustrated for one and two qubit gates in model molecular systems, where only part of the Hilbert space is used for computation.  相似文献

The structural and electronic transport properties of La1−x Ce x MnO3 (x=0.0–1.0) have been studied. All the samples exhibit orthorhombic crystal symmetry and the unit cell volume decreases with Ce doping. They also make a metal-insulator transition (MIT) and transition temperature increases with increase in Ce concentration up to 50% doping. The system La0.5Ce0.5MnO3 also exhibits MIT instead of charge-ordered state as observed in the hole doped systems of the same composition.  相似文献

We present a study of the performance of endoreversible thermal machines optimized with respect to the thermodynamic force associated with the cold bath in the regime of small thermodynamic forces. These thermal machines can work either as an engine or as a refrigerator. We analyze how the optimal performances are determined by the dependence of the thermodynamic flux on the forces. The results are motivated and illustrated with a quantum model, the three level maser, and explicit analytical expressions of the engine efficiency as a function of the system parameters are given.  相似文献

We establish a transformation which connects the potentials of the one-dimensional Dirac and Klein-Gordon operators.
