The use of infrared laser-assisted fluorination to release oxygen from milligram quantities of silicates or other oxide mineral grains is a well-established technique. However, relatively few studies have reported the optimisation of this procedure for oxygen-17 isotope measurements. We describe here details of an analytical system using infrared (10 μm) laser-assisted fluorination, in conjunction with a dual inlet mass spectrometer of high resolving power ( approximately 250) to provide (17)O and (18)O oxygen isotope measurements from 0.5-2 mg of silicates or other oxide mineral grains. Respective precisions (1) of typically 0.08 and 0.04 per thousand are obtained for the complete analytical procedure. Departures from the mass-dependent oxygen isotope fractionation line are quantified by Delta(17)O; our precision (1) of such measurements on individual samples is shown to be +/-0.024 per thousand. In turn, this permits the offset between parallel, mass-dependent fractionation lines to be characterised to substantially greater precision than has been possible hitherto. Application of this system to investigate the (17)O versus (18)O relationship for numerous terrestrial whole-rock and mineral samples, of diverse geological origins and age, indicates that the complete data set may be described by a single, mass-dependent fractionation line of slope 0.5244+/- 0.00038 (standard error). The known methods to determine the surface areas of molecules are discussed and a new method is proposed based on the molecule representation in the form of a molecular Voronoi-Dirichlet polyhedron. A linear correlation is found between the surface areas of molecules calculated using the molecular Voronoi-Dirichlet polyhedra and determined by the already known methods. The efficiency of the use of molecular Voronoi-Dirichlet polyhedra for the analysis of intermolecular interactions in crystal structures is demonstrated by concrete examples.  相似文献

We report on a new series of isoreticular frameworks based on zinc and 2-substituted imidazolate-4-amide-5-imidate (IFP-1-4, IFP=imidazolate framework Potsdam) that form one-dimensional, microporous hexagonal channels. Varying R in the 2-substitued linker (R=Me (IFP-1), Cl (IFP-2), Br (IFP-3), Et (IFP-4)) allowed the channel diameter (4.0-1.7??), the polarisability and functionality of the channel walls to be tuned. Frameworks IFP-2, IFP-3 and IFP-4 are isostructural to previously reported IFP-1. The structures of IFP-2 and IFP-3 were solved by X-ray crystallographic analyses. The structure of IFP-4 was determined by a combination of PXRD and structure modelling and was confirmed by IR spectroscopy and (1) H?MAS and (13) C?CP-MAS?NMR spectroscopy. All IFPs showed high thermal stability (345-400?°C); IFP-1 and IFP-4 were stable in boiling water for 7?d. A detailed porosity analysis was performed on the basis of adsorption measurements by using various gases. The potential of the materials to undergo specific interactions with CO(2) was investigated by measuring the isosteric heats of adsorption. The capacity to adsorb CH(4) (at 298?K), CO(2) (at 298?K) and H(2) (at 77?K) at high pressure were also investigated. In situ IR spectroscopy showed that CO(2) is physisorbed on IFP-1-4 under dry conditions and that both CO(2) and H(2) O are physisorbed on IFP-1 under moist conditions.  相似文献

Five new coordination polymers, namely, [Zn(2)(H(2)O)(2)(BBC)](NO(3))(DEF)(6) (DUT-40), [Zn(3)(H(2)O)(3)(BBC)(2)] (DUT-41), [(C(2)H(5))(2)NH(2)][Zn(2)(BBC)(TDC)](DEF)(6)(H(2)O)(7) (DUT-42), [Zn(10)(BBC)(5)(BPDC)(2)(H(2)O)(10)](NO(3))(DEF)(28)(H(2)O)(8) (DUT-43), and [Co(2)(BBC)(NO(3))(DEF)(2)(H(2)O)](DEF)(6)(H(2)O) (DUT-44), where BBC--4,4',4'-(benzene-1,3,5-triyl-tris(benzene-4,1-diyl))tribenzoate, TDC--2,5-thiophenedicarboxylate, BPDC--4,4'-biphenyldicarboxylate, DEF--,N-diethylformamide, were obtained under solvothermal conditions and structurally characterized. It has been shown that compounds DUT-40, DUT-41 and DUT-44 exhibit 2D layered structures with large hexagonal channels. Utilization of additional angular dicarboxylic TDC linker led to the formation of the DUT-42 compound with the structure consisting of three interpenetrated 3D networks. Using the linear co-linker dicarboxylic BPDC, DUT-43 was obtained which forms a complicated 3D architecture arising from the polycatenation of triple-layered 2D building units and 2D single layer units. The pore accessibility of the synthesized compounds in the liquid phase was proved by the adsorption of dye molecules.  相似文献

A modified Voronoi-Dirichlet polyhedra (VDP) method based on the clusterization of interatomic contacts in the crystal structure depending on contact strength is described. This method makes it possible to carry out crystal-chemical analysis hierarchically, consecutively recognizing atomic nets with different groups of interatomic contacts. The method is used to carry out the topological classification of structure representations for 547 intermetallic compounds of composition AX. Structural relations between various topologic types of intermetallic compounds are discovered and discussed.  相似文献

COF-1 has a structure with rigid 2D layers composed of benzene and B3O3 rings and weak van der Waals bonding between the layers. The as-synthesized COF-1 structure contains pores occupied by solvent molecules. A high surface area empty-pore structure is obtained after vacuum annealing. High-pressure XRD and Raman experiments with mesitylene-filled (COF-1-M) and empty-pore COF-1 demonstrate partial amorphization and collapse of the framework structure above 12–15 GPa. The ambient pressure structure of COF-1-M can be reversibly recovered after compression up to 10–15 GPa. Remarkable stability of highly porous COF-1 structure at pressures at least up to 10 GPa is found even for the empty-pore structure. The bulk modulus of the COF-1 structure (11.2(5) GPa) and linear incompressibilities (k[100]=111(5) GPa, k[001]=15.0(5) GPa) were evaluated from the analysis of XRD data and cross-checked against first-principles calculations.  相似文献
