Enthalpies of dilution of the N-acetyl amides of glycine, L-alanine, L-valine, L-leucine, and L-phenylalanine, dissolved in N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF) as a solvent have been measured at 25°C. The results obtained have been analyzed to give the enthalpic interaction (or virial) coefficients of the solutes and these are compared with information previously obtained in aqueous systems. There are marked differences in the interaction properties in the two solvents and, while the additivity approach of Savage and Wood is applicable to the solutes in water it is not suitable for representing the interactions in DMF. A correlation is presented between the enthalpic second virial coefficients in DMF and the propensity of side-chains to be in proximity in globular proteins.  相似文献

The translational anisotropy and angular momentum polarization of the O(2)(a (1)Delta(g),v = 0;J = 15-27) molecular photofragment produced from the UV photodissociation of O(3) in the range from 270 to 300 nm have been determined using resonance-enhanced multiphoton ionization in conjunction with time-of-flight mass spectrometry. At the shortest photolysis wavelengths used, the fragments exhibit the anisotropic vector correlations expected from a prompt dissociation via the (1)B(2) <--(1)A(1) transition. Deviations from this behavior are observed at longer photolysis wavelengths with, in particular, the angular momentum orientation showing a significant reduction in magnitude. This indicates that the dissociation can no longer be described by a purely impulsive model and a change in geometry of the dissociating molecule is implied. This observation is substantiated by the variation of the translational anisotropy with photolysis wavelength. We also observe that the bipolar moments describing the angular momentum polarization of the odd J states probed are consistently lower in magnitude than those of the even J states and that this variation is observed for all photolysis wavelengths.  相似文献

The polarity of an MCM-41 adsorbent surface and organosilylated composites based on it with grafted trimethylsilane and dimethylphenylsilane groups is studied via inverse gas chromatography at infinite dilution. The dispersion and specific components of the value proportional to the Helmholtz adsorption energy are calculated, and a comparative analysis of the surface polarity of MCM-41 and its modified analogs relative to the commercially available C-120 silica gel is performed. The electrostatic and donor–acceptor components of the specific Helmholtz adsorption energy are calculated through linear decomposition of the adsorption energy. It is established that MCM-41 is less polar than C-120. The modification of the initial adsorbent surface leads to a reduction in polarity, due mainly to the weakening of induction and orientation interactions. It is concluded that the surfaces of the modified samples retain the ability to form hydrogen bonds.  相似文献

Analytical relationships between the photon-emission probability from a surface and the optical thickness along with analytical relationships between the spectral brightness of a homogeneous plasma of spherical geometry are derived with taking into account the radiation absorption. The photon-emission probability and the spectral brightness are also obtained for a plasma of cylindrical geometry and a plasma consisting of spherical layers. The relationships are given in the integral form, while attempts to find them analytically, i.e., to calculate the integrals, failed. However, they can be computed numerically. The formula for spectral brightness is derived for the case of radiation of two flat layers, which differ by the structure, thickness, and thermodynamic and spectral characteristics. The expressions for the spherical and flat layers are compared. The ratio of the dimensions permitted to approximate the flat case by the spherical case is found. The criteria of applicability and accuracy of such approximation have been elaborated. As examples of the application of the expressions derived, the radiation spectra of the aluminum, carbon, copper, and oxygen plasmas were calculated and plotted. __________ Translated from Preprint No. 33 of the P.
