Abstract— As a model for studies involving biologic systems, rates of hematoporphyrin and protopor-phyrin-sensitized photooxidation of tryptophan were measured in water-methanol mixtures. Absorption and fluorescence-emission spectra associated with solutions of porphyrins in different water-methano! mixtures were also examined. The optimal rate of photooxidation by hematoporphyrin occurred in 30% methanol; by protoporphyrin, in 60% methanol. Absorption spectra were examined to characterize dispersion of hematoporphyrin into monomeric form in 90% methanol, and the dimer formation which predominates in 30% methanol. With the more hydrophobic protoporphyrin, an absorption spectrum characteristic of drug monomer was seen in 100% methanol, a dimer spectrum was observed in 60% methanol. At methanol concentrations < 60%, we observed impaired photooxidation and another alteration in the absorption pattern apparently reflecting drug aggregation beyond the dimer stage. Fluorescence emission maxima of both porphyrins were blue-shifted with increasing solvent dielectric constant, but an additional blue shift was detected in an aqueous environment which was apparently related to porphyrin aggregation. Absorption and fluorescence-emission spectra appear helpful for characterizing environmental determinants of porphyrin-sensitized photooxidation.  相似文献

An easy, safe, and effective method for preparing (diacetoxyiodo)arenes from iodoarenes is presented. Addition of trifluoromethanesulfonic acid (triflic acid) as a promoter causes a drastic increase in the yield of (diacetoxyiodo)arenes in the reaction of iodoarenes with sodium perborate. The reaction of the iodoarenes with sodium perborate in acetic acid in the presence of triflic acid at 40-45 degrees C efficiently generates the corresponding (diacetoxyiodo)arenes in high yields within short time.  相似文献

Summary Atomic absorption spectrometry combined with extraction is described for the determination of tri- and hexavalent chromium. The chromium diethyldithiocarbamate chelate was used for chromium (VI), whereas hydroxyquinolate or thenoyltrifluoroacetonate chelate for chromium(III). The method is rapid and precise.
Zusammenfassung Extraktion und darauffolgende Messung der Atomarabsorption wurden zur Bestimmung von drei- und sechswertigem Chrom verwendet. Die Chelatverbindung mit Diäthyldithiocarbamat wurde für Chrom(VI), der Chelatkomplex mit Hydroxychinolin oder Thenoyltrifluoraceton für Chrom(III) verwendet. Das Verfahren ist rasch und genau.

Emission spectroscopy is applied for characterization of reactions occurring in air—acetylene flames normally used for atomic absorption spectrometry. Inter-element effects on the emissions of chromium and iron are discussed. Two atomic emission lines with different upper energies and a molecular emission line of the diatomic oxide MO are compared for determination of the excitation temperature and the degree of atomization in fuel-rich and lean flames. The reductive power of the fuel-rich flame is essential for atomization of chromium salts. Inter-element effects by iron can be attributed to the formation of refractory oxides, and to mutual catalytic oxidation.  相似文献

Abstract An action spectrum was obtained for photoreactivation (PR) of morphological abnormality arising from ultraviolet (UV)-irradiation of sea urchin sperm. The wavelength dependence of PR was measured by the restoration of the formation of normal pluteus larvae after the exposure of fertilized eggs to various fluences of monochromatic PR light (313 to 500 nm). The PR action spectrum showed a maximum around 365 nm and a secondary peak somewhere above 400 nm. High PR activity beyond 400 nm wavelengths may reflect an advantageous or adaptational ability to cope with harmful effects of solar UV radiation.  相似文献

Abstract

TiO2 and Pt have been intercalated in hectorite and H4Nb6O17. The height of TiO2 and Pt pillars was less than 0.8 nm and the band gap energy of TiO2 pillars was ca. 3.3 eV. Both hectorite/TiO2 and H4Nb6O17(Pt, TiO2) were capable of hydrogen evolution following irradiation from a high pressure mercury are (λ > 290 nm) in the presence of methanol as a sacrificial hole acceptor and the hydrogen evolution was enhanced by co-incorporation of Pt, although hectorite and hectorite/Pt did not show photocatalytic activity. Incorporation of Pt or Pt and TiO2 in the interlayer of H4Nb6O17 has resulted in enhanced photo evolution of hydrogen, however, TiO2 alone in the interlayer of H4Nb6O17 showed adverse photocatalytic activity.  相似文献
