Karnataka state in India is very well known for its cotton cultivation and there are innumerable varieties of these cotton fibers. Although, the yield and other types of characterization have been carried out on these fibers, the structure-property relation is not well studied till today. We have examined four different raw cotton fibers using Wide Angle X-ray Scattering (WAXS) technique and also we have computed micro-crystalline parameters. This study brings out the structure-property relation in cotton fibers.  相似文献

Indium Selenide thin films were electrodeposited on Indium Tin Oxide (ITO) coated glass substrates from a mixture of Indium trichloride (InCl3) and selenium dioxide (SeO2) in aqueous solution by the potentiostatic electrodeposition technique. The InSe films showed that Mott’s variable-range hopping conductivity (VRH) is dominant under low field (∼2×105 Vcm−1) condition. At high field the Current-Voltage studies (in the temperature range 300 – 380 K) revealed that the conductivity of Indium selenide thin films is of Poole-Frenkel type. The plot drawn between Ln (I/V) and tV showed a straight line and also the experimental data and the theoretical data closely matches. A promising electrochemical sensor based nickel‐carbon nanotube (Ni‐CNT) modified on glassy carbon (GC) electrode had been developed and the properties of the modified electrode were characterized by multispectroscopic analysis. The fabricated sensor (GC/Ni‐CNT) electrode was utilized to determine the catecholamines such as epinephrine and dopamine simultaneously. Differential pulse voltammetry and amperometry were used to verify the electrochemical behavior of the studied compounds. The GC/Ni‐CNT based amperometric sensor showed a wide linear range and low detection limit with high analytical sensitivity of 8.31 and 6.61 μA μM?1 for EP and DA, respectively which demonstrates better characteristics compared to other electrodes reported in the literature. Further, no significant change in amperometric current response was observed in presence of biological interference species such as glucose, cysteine, citric acid, uric acid and ascorbic acid in the detection of EP and DA. The utility of this GC/Ni‐CNT electrode was well established for the determination of EP and DA in human urine samples.  相似文献

Polycrystalline Ni-Mn-Ga thin films were deposited by the d.c. magnetron sputtering on well-cleaned substrates of Si(1 0 0) and glass at a constant sputtering power of 36 W. We report the influence of sputtering pressure on the composition, structure and magnetic properties of the sputtered thin films. These films display ferromagnetic behaviour only after annealing at an elevated temperature and a maximum saturation magnetization of 335 emu/cc was obtained for the films investigated. Evolution of martensitic microstructure was observed in the annealed thin films with the increase of sputtering pressure. The thermo-magnetic curves exhibited only magnetic transition in the temperature range of 339-374 K. The thin film deposited at high sputtering pressure of 0.025 mbar was found to be ordered L21 austenitic phase.  相似文献

Polymer electrolytes comprising polyvinyl pyrrolidone (PVP) as host polymer and Mg(ClO4)2 as dopant salt have been prepared by solution casting technique using double-distilled water as solvent. The changes in the structural properties on the incorporation of dopant were investigated by XRD and FTIR analysis. The ionic conductivity and dielectric behavior were explored using AC impedance spectroscopy. The ionic conductivity increases with increasing dopant concentration. The conductivity enhancement with the increasing salt concentration is correlated with the increase in amorphous nature of the electrolytes. The frequency dependence of electrical conductivity obeys the universal Jonscher power law. The electrical modulus representation shows a loss feature in the imaginary component. The distribution of relaxation times was indicated by a deformed arc form of the Argand plot. The relative dielectric constant (ε r ) decreases with increase in frequency in the low frequency region whereas a frequency-independent behavior is observed in the high frequency region. The total ionic transference number studies have confirmed that the mobile charge carriers are ions. Results obtained by cyclic voltammetry on SS/60 mol% PVP/40 mol% Mg(ClO4)2 SPE/SS symmetrical cell show evidence for reversibility.

In real life situation, it is observed that demand of an item depends on the length of the credit period offered by the retailer to his customers which has a positive impact on demand of an item. But the impact of credit period on demand has received a very little attention by researchers. Furthermore, by allowing shortages as backlogging, the impact on the cost from the decay of the products can be balanced out. A profitable decision policy between a supplier and the retailers can be characterized by an agreement on the permissible delay in payments. Recently, Jaggi et al. (Eur J Oper Res 190:130–135, 2008) have investigated the impact of credit linked demand on the retailer’s optimal replenishment policy. The objective of this study is to extend Jaggi et al. (Eur J Oper Res 190:130–135, 2008) model by incorporating deterioration and backlogging. That is, we formulate a two-echelon inventory model for deteriorating items with credit period dependent demand including shortages under two-level trade credit financing and determine the retailer’s optimal replenishment policy when both the supplier as well as the retailer offers the credit period to stimulate customer demand. Furthermore, we establish some useful theorems to characterize the optimal solution and provide an easy and useful computational algorithm with the help of computer code using the software Matlab 7.0 to determine the optimal shortage point, cycle length, ordering quantity and credit period. A numerical example is included to illustrate the solution procedure for the mathematical model developed. Finally, we implement sensitivity analysis of the optimal solution with respect to the major parameters of the system and obtain some important managerial insights.  相似文献

High resolution two-dimensional gel electrophoresis (2-DE) using immobilized pH gradients was used to map the tissue-specific polypeptides of the desert locust, Schistocerca gregaria. Highly specific comprehensive 2-DE reference maps ("master gels") were developed for the brain, corpus cardiacum, subesophageal ganglion, and hemolymph. The polypeptides were well resolved within the pH 4-7 range in the first dimension and within the 14-94 kDa molecular mass range in the second dimension.  相似文献

Respiratory tract infections are underestimated, as they are mild and generally not incapacitating. In clinical medicine, however, these infections are considered a prevalent problem. By 2030, the third most comprehensive reason for death worldwide will be chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), according to the World Health Organization. The current arsenal of anti-inflammatory drugs shows little or no benefits against COPD. For thousands of years, herbal drugs have been used to cure numerous illnesses; they exhibit promising results and enhance physical performance. Ginseng is one such herbal medicine, known to alleviate pro-inflammatory chemokines and cytokines (IL-2, IL-4, IFN-γ, TNF-α, IL-5, IL-6, IL-8) formed by macrophages and epithelial cells. Furthermore, the mechanisms of action of ginsenoside are still not fully understood. Various clinical trials of ginseng have exhibited a reduction of repeated colds and the flu. In this review, ginseng’s structural features, the pathogenicity of microbial infections, and the immunomodulatory, antiviral, and anti-bacterial effects of ginseng were discussed. The focus was on the latest animal studies and human clinical trials that corroborate ginseng’s role as a therapy for treating respiratory tract infections. The article concluded with future directions and significant challenges. This review would be a valuable addition to the knowledge base for researchers in understanding the promising role of ginseng in treating respiratory tract infections. Further analysis needs to be re-focused on clinical trials to study ginseng’s efficacy and safety in treating pathogenic infections and in determining ginseng-drug interactions.  相似文献

Structural, thermal, electrical and electrochemical behaviour of polymer blend electrolytes comprising polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) and polyvinyl pyrrolidone (PVP) as host polymers and Mg(ClO4)2 as dopant salt have been investigated. The changes in the structural properties on the incorporation of dopant in the blends were investigated by XRD and FTIR analyses. Thermal properties of pure PVA–PVP blend and their complexes were examined by DSC to measure how the thermal transitions of the prepared films were affected by different concentration of Mg(ClO4)2. The ionic conductivity and dielectric behaviour were explored using A.C. impedance spectroscopy. The trend of ionic conductivity increases almost proportionally to the content of magnesium salt and can be related to an increase of amorphous phase at high level of dopant salt. The electrochemical stability of the optimum conducting blend polymer electrolyte is found to be ~3.5 V. The Mg2+ transference number for the sample with optimized conductivity was found to be 0.31.  相似文献
